Jack Merkle
I think he announced 2017 in his speech at the Monster Truck HOF.
Sergeant Politeness
He'll be 57 that year, so honestly you can't blame him for wanting to retire, and really sooner or later it was gonna happen and hey, the guy's been driving for 35 years, not many motorsport professionals have careers near that length.
Nascarfan98
Doing it in a Monster Truck out of all things too. That's also impressive
steiale
He might retire from driving, but there's no way Dennis could leave the sport. Who knows, maybe Monster Jam will have him announce events or something
Outlawed
Far as I knew he was under contract until his 35th anniversary
dd908
Dennis goes by five year contracts, from my understanding. His contract expires after the World Finals in 2017, so he will ride out the whole first quarter for the 35th anniversary. It's been talked about many times that he will call it quits after the Finals in 2017 since that's when his contract expires, but I have yet to hear it from his mouth yet that he'll be hanging up the fire suit at that point in time. When I hear it from him, I'll be 100% sure on it then.
Chazzymp
As much as it would suck, yeah it would have to be 2017, with all his past injuries and as Danny said too he will be 57. He will go out in style Explosions, Backflips, etc Murica
MonsterJam2008
I could see him retiring from full time driving in 2017, but he'll never leave the sport so I wouldn't be surprised to see him drive part time or encores at future world finals

I'm sure he won't stop being involved in monster trucks, but driving... eh. That's an iffy subject.

donkeykongtruckfan
Didn't the following drivers also have a contract? Larry Jarzel (Driver from 2001 to 2009) Kreg Christensen (2007-2013) Chris Bergeron (2000-2013)
Outlawed
No idea on Larry but Kreg's contract to run a Max-D ended after the 10th anniversary encore at vegas. Chris never had a contract he owned his own truck and sold to to Jim before he retired.
