The developers of the brand new official videogame of the FIA World Rally Championship have announced that the finished product will go on sale on 8th October this year.

The game is published by Italian firm Black Bean Games and will be available for PlayStation®3 and Xbox®360 consoles as well as for the PC.

The game, the first to be officially endorsed by the WRC for five years, is the only one to feature the cars, drivers and co-drivers from the current WRC season and from all support classes: P-WRC, S-WRC and J-WRC.

It features 78 different rally stages and over 550km of varied road conditions from the 13 countries which host a round of the championship. Also available for the first time is a new 'Road to the WRC' career mode in which players compete for 50 different trophies. Online multiplayer game modes, meanwhile, allow players around the world to embark on their own epic motorsport adventures. Extremely accurate vectors have been applied not only to the car as a whole, but also to the single wheels allowing to replicate, within the game, the dynamics of the vehicle and the typical behaviours of a rally car on the various surfaces (tarmac, snow, ice, gravel). There are over 70 surfaces types with different features with each surface.

Just started playing this game and it is awesome. Blows dirt 2 out of the water.
