After SSRS made it's return last week, we continue our Preseason events at David Stewart's Remington County Fairgrounds.  While it is going back nearly 3 years, it is still a very well built track that offers another custom racing layout.  Taking it's origins to MTM2, this should be a good mix of obstacles for all sides of the Freestyle Spectrum.

 

In making the Preseason exciting and worth running for everyone, we will be offering a special incentive for everyone running.  The Overall Preseason Points winner will receive first truck selection before sign-ups open.  While they will have to pick within or below their rank, they will be given the first pick before anyone else.  Hopefully this will help make the Preseason more than just a few fun-runs before the Regular Season kicks off (May 29th by the way).
 
Lastly will be the event format (which will be constant throughout the Regular Season).  We will be following the Fox Sports 1 Championship Series format, obstacle course, racing, and freestyle.  We will be running 20 trucks, with the top 8 racing, the next 8 in the obstacle course, and all 20 freestyling.  I will be sure to cover all information in detail during the Driver's Meeting before the event.

Event Times:
  • Sign-Ups:
    • Opens: Wednesday, April 29th, 2015 @ 5:00 est/4:00 cst
    • Closes: Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 @ 7:30 est/6:30 cst
  • Qualifying:
    • Opens: Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 @ 5:00 est/4:00 cst
    • Closes: Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 @ 7:30 est/6:30 cst
  • Event:
    • AIM Chat Opens: Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 @ 7:45 est/6:45 cst
    • Driver’s Meetings: Starts once 20 drivers are present
    • Obstacle, Racing, and Freestyle: Starts shortly thereafter
    • Field size is the Top 20 Qualifiers, anyone slower is a fill-in.
    • Faster 8 will race, next 8 will compete in obstacle course, all 20 freestyle.
 
Be sure that you are aware of the rules in our Rulebook before racing.  If you have any questions about the Rulebook, message an official on AIM or Sim-Monsters PM and we will respond as soon as possible.

Alright, had a pretty good event last night, ran the event fairly quickly (2.5 hours).  Obstacle course was a bit rough of a rough ride for a few people, but still was an interesting course.  Congrats

Also as a note, we will be following general rankings for sign-ups.  They will be joined as follows:
  • Platinum
  • Gold & Silver
  • Bronze & Rookie
 
Basically, for this event, you can pick more trucks that may be a rank higher than you (ie: Silver Driver Guy can run a Gold truck, as well as anything below his rank).

Being as you are rookie, you must pick a truck within the Rookie or Bronze Ranks.  Remember though, that you will only be able to pick Rookie Trucks if you are that rank for Regular Season Sign-Ups.
