  3. Myrtle Beach Speedway - 1990

In 1990 the monsters of the TNT Monster Truck Series came to do battle at the Myrtle Beach Speedway in Myrtle Beach SC. As was the case for many race tracks that the monsters raced at, the biggest concern was having little room on each side of truck as the drivers wrestled their machines down the alley in an attempt to avoid an altercation with the barriers.

One such truck unfortunately had a meeting with more than just the barriers. At the end of his run, Steve Cain in “King Kong III” suffered breakage to a sway bar which shot him towards the left hand barrier of the track. Hopping over the barrier on two wheels, the truck smashed through and toppled the track's 76 sign, settled down on all fours for a few moments before veering to the left once more. At the climax of this already wild ride, Steve Cain and “King Kong III” rolled over, landing on top of and destroying two brand new county patrol cars, with the truck momentarily bursting into flames. Within moments of the truck coming to a stop, Steve Cain removed himself from the truck, and walked away from one of the most iconic spectacles in monster truck crashes.

This is the site of that spectacular wreck. The RoR re-creation of Myrtle Beach Speedway, 1990.

  4. New Liberty Stadium 3

New Liberty Stadium 3 by Hot Shoe

Thank you for downloading New Liberty Stadium 3! Before you hit the track, please allow me to give you a (hopefully) brief history on this track:

This track was part of a series of tracks made in MTM2 by Jason Lloyd, who was better known as “Mr. Destruction”. Jason and I helped each other out from time to time on our projects. I made a piece of artwork and textured a ramp for one of his tracks. He made me some artwork/logos for my projects. He also designed the Demolition Track Creations logo you see along with being my cohort in DTC.

At one time I sent him a VHS of monster truck races that took place in his area that he missed seeing.

During creation of NLS3, he approached me saying that this track was being neglected by other projects and things he had going on. Instead of dropping the track, and subsequently dropping the series, he gave me this track (which was mostly completed at the time) and the full rights to do what I wanted with the name and series from that point in time. Giving me rights to NLS was also his way of thanking and repaying me for the VHS I sent him.

I then finished the track for Jason whilst adding my own unique touches to the track (such as placing the name of the stadium on the yellow divider in center track). This quickly became one of my best, popular, and favorite piece in MTM2.

Now, this track has been reborn in RoR. Apart from minor differences like logos on the signs, replacing turning poles (which were one the original NLS3) with turning cars, and moving around a few obstacles for better flow and spacing of the freestyle track, this is a direct copy of its MTM2 counterpart.

Additional notes: All the signs and poles on the track have been set with no-collide properties. The signs are for decoration. The poles are not necessarily meant for penalties. They are in place as a guide of where the racing course and direction is.

  5. International Dragging Series @ Clarkson International Autodrome

“Tonight! I drive a truck with big wheels on it. Richard has a problem with stairs, and James gets lost!”

Clarkson International Autodrome is a track/venue created for Alex “runt9” Vester ‘s International Dragging Series league. After much evolution, and a name change from its original “working title”, this track came to be a commemorative piece in honor of the man responsible for Top Gear as we know and love it: Jeremy Clarkson.

The track’s initial concept came about during talks with Alex for making tracks/venues for the IDS season. I had thought it would be cool to do a venue in the UK. Alex agreed. After much deliberation on areas, venues, and locations in the UK, many of which were quickly scrapped, Alex finally said “just make a stadium and slap a random name on it.” I answered by blurting out “Clarkson Stadium”. Alex’s reply: “Oh my God do it!” The result: Clarkson International Autodrome is set in the place of Clarkson’s birth: Doncaster, England.

This track breaks the norm in that it is the first track I’ve made in RoR that ISN’T stemming from or being remade from a previous version in MTM2. This is all brand new, fresh work which incorporates ideas that have been done before in RoR, but not too much in tracks made in Sim-monsters: animations. From the scoreboard bearing images of Clarkson’s faces, to the “Stig Approved” digital banners, this track was the guinea pig for these, and many more concepts and ideas. Some of which haven’t been done since MTM2.

This track is also the first that I’ve built using most of my own vehicle models (excluding the bus model and textures provided by Mark Colineri which then served as the bendy bus).

This project, spanning over many months to complete is ambitious, and hopefully, not rubbish.

One final note: It is said that the Top Gear Personalities are in attendance for this momentous occasion. Keep a sharp eye, and you may just be able to spot them!

As that is not really a bombshell, it is time to end. Thank you very much for reading. Goodbye!

    Special thanks:

Alex Vester: for the great opportunity to create a ridiculous and special venue for IDS. Thanks for letting JR and I get creative, and take many liberties in bringing this track to life. As cliché or odd as it sounds, it truly came out to be better than MY wildest expectations. Thank you!

JR Seasock: My right hand man and go to guy for creative and inventive ideas. Thank you so much for helping me out on these projects and coming up with the insane stuff that you do. This track would not be as incredible as it is if it wasn’t for your ideas/concepts. Thank you so much!

Ryan McCauley: Thank you very much for your ideas, inspiration for the “special” bits of this track, and for the quote at the start of this read-me. Thank you!

  6. Traviss McCarthy Center - RedMan/TNT MTC

Traviss McCarthy Center – 1980’s RedMan/TNT Monster Truck Challenge

Traviss McCarthy Center is yet another track I created in MTM2. Nearing completion, it fell by the way side, never completely finished, or released. Now in RoR/Sim-monsters, this track has been reborn and fully realized!

Huge attention to detail was paid in the re-creation of this track in an attempt to make a venue that looked, felt, and screamed 1980’s TNT Motorsports. Hours of watching TNT event footage. Careful scrutinization of the sponsors and logos. All of this was taken into consideration in the attempt to make a custom TNT style event that not only replicated the look and feel of a TNT Motorsports event, but to attempt to take you back in time to such an event.

Important notes: This track features a working pulling sled. Unfortunately you can’t control movement of the weight bar from the vehicle pulling the sled. This sled, however can be driven, repositioned, and more importantly, reset to its spawn point.

The only vehicle I have found that can be attached to this sled is the 1st Gen Dodge Cummins by Box5diesel. You can get this vehicle here: http://www.rigsofrods.com/repository/view/1275

The sled used on this track is also originally done by Box5diesel, redone by jerom. It is The Black Fury sled. You must download this and install it to see/use it on this track: http://www.rigsofrods.com/repository/view/3891

To use the sled, you must back the vehicle up to where the chain is on the ground. Mouse drag the chain over the hitching ball, and press the L key on your keyboard. If you see the indicator light up saying “Load Locked”, then the sled has been successfully attached the hitch point.

All the on track props (hay bales, pennant flags, Christmas tree, etc.) have been set with no-collide properties.

  7. ORL Figure 8 Shootout @ Mankato Speedway

Mankato Speedway is yet another track that I first created in MTM2. At the time, it was created/set in the 1980’s Renegades TNT Monster Truck Challenge era. Inspiration came from watching the Renegades TNT Monster Truck Challenge at Toledo Ohio. The original track hosted three different versions of racing: Drag, U-Turn (J-Turn) and of course, Figure 8.

I had wanted to bring the track to RoR, and in doing so, bring it back with a modern day setting. Before I began construction of the track, Mark Colineri offered me the wonderful opportunity to construct a challenging Figure 8 track for his ORL league. All Mark wanted was for it to be of a Figure 8 layout, and for it to be a driver’s course. Thus, I offered up Mankato to play host to the ORL for this event.

During construction, I enlisted JR Seasock to help with freestyle obstacle ideas/forms, and course layout. Eventually this lead to JR being enlisted into the DTC. This is our first track that we have created together. We brainstormed ideas, and JR greatly helped in this tracks development. From realizing the octagonal hit, to the creative idea of the triangular bus obstacle. Even down to the light poles that dot the track. JR played a heavy roll in this track’s development. It’s because of his help that this track is as good as it is.

Proudly, Mankato Speedway hosts the ORL Figure 8 Shootout!

Mirror 1 Should be the full version of the track. Mirror 2 Should be the LOW LAG version.

    Special thanks:
Mark Colineri: For the amazing opportunity to supply him with a Figure track for his league. It allowed me to construct an amazing venue full of life, personality, real-world look/feel, and to bring Mankato from a 1980’s era in MTM2 to a modern day depiction in RoR.

JR Seasock. For being such an incredible voice in this tracks development. From the realization of the octagonal hit, the triangular bus stack, the light poles and so much more. JR’s innovative and creative ideas helped to craft this track into the wild, fun and crazy event that it is.

    Thanks to the beta team:
    Mark Colineri

  8. SanMarcoArena2ndStop

San Marco Arena – Author’s Notes
    By: Hot Shoe

Thank you for downloading San Marco Arena 2nd Stop for RoR Sim-Monsters! I won’t keep you long as I’m sure you’d like to get out on the track. First, if I may, a little history and information:

Extract the main zipped file to access the course layout picture and Author's Notes text file for important information. The file also contains the actual zipped file for this track.

San Marco Stop 1 (or SanMarco Arena 2005) was a popular creation of mine in Monster Truck Madness 2. I even enjoyed the pleasure of racing on my own track in a league. I lost that race, sadly. However, San Marco was a hit. Thus as I did with many of my tracks, I decided to construct another creation. A “2nd Stop” in 2005. This was a trademark of mine for many of my tracks: to revisit a venue with each new version having a different twist to the layout, or setting.

San Marco Arena 2 is an all original track that has been in re-development since its forgotten Monster Truck Madness 2 counterpart. I’m very proud to finally release this track! This track was originally created and mostly finished in Monster Truck Madness 2 before I left the game, and dropped the project.

In bringing it to RoR Sim-Monsters, the track has undergone numerous changes in order to bring it up to date, as the original MTM2 version is now 6 years old.

The first San Marco (a track I’m planning to re-create for RoR Sim-monsters), was a St Louis style, twin oval layout. This version has what I’ve come to call a Saran Wrap, or Wrap Around Chicago style course.

Please refer to the course layout (saracinglayout) picture.

At the start line (the Saran Wrap section), you accelerate forward to the first right hand turn through the “Alleyway”, and into a short straight section before making your 2nd long, wide right handed turn. Upon entering the Chicago Style layout, you’ll straighten back out, and fly across the first set of cars, into a tight left hand turn. Accelerate along the straight, and fly over the second set of cars, into another tight left hand turn. Again, accelerate along the straight, and across the final set of cars to the finish.

A few additional notes: All the signs and poles on the track have been set with no-collide properties. The signs are for decoration. The poles are not necessarily meant for penalties. They are in place as a guide of where the racing course and direction is.

For fun, the Truck Shop is in place for you to swap between your favorite trucks anytime you like.

  9. Mankato Speedway - Criss Crossover-Rama

    *****Important Disclaimer*****
Due to some users having experienced lag, the Low Lag version has had the fencing deleted off the track, as this has been the most common reason for lag experienced by these users. That is all I’m going to do in an attempt to make this track as low lag as possible, while still keeping MOST of its integrity.

If you do experience any lag, I tried my best. In the case of such an event, it will most likely be the amount of vertices used in the making of the ramps spread out over the track, or your system/machines inability to properly run the track.

The sky sphere, horizon, light poles and beams of light, stands, and billboards do not cause lag, so refrain from asking such questions. You have your answer here and now.

Please keep in mind that no amount of de-lagging is a sure thing. It’s called LOW LAG, not NO LAG for a reason.

    Information:
Mirror 1 is the FULL VERSION.
Mirror 2 is the LOW LAG VERSION.

    Description:
Mankato Speedway – Criss Crossover-Rama is yet another track brought to you by the minds at Demolition Tracks Creations, offering a new evolution to one of the better known and more popularly ran track configurations, the Crossover Course.
This however, is no ordinary crossover course. Brought to you from the mind of Jr Seasock, and the course built by David Stewart, Mankato Speedway Criss-Crossover-Rama will provide all comers with a challenging and thrilling venture. Racers will have to negotiate the twisty layout which features three jumps and crossovers per lap, totaling to six crossovers for the entire course.
When the sun goes down, the Mankato Speedway lights will go up. If this new Criss-Crossover layout wasn't challenging enough, racers will have to brave the course in the dark with only the Mankato lights guiding there way.
    Welcome to Mankato Speedway’s Criss-Crossover-Rama!

  10. Leighey Field - 1980's Renegades/TNT

Leighey Field is the first 1980’s Renegades/TNT Monster Truck Challenge style track that I’ve ever created in RoR. This is an all new, fresh track straight from my mind to RoR and has no ties with any past works I’ve created in MTM2.

This track was created with painstaking attention to detail in an attempt to get the look, function, and feel correct to that of a TNT event.

Features include animated Christmas Trees and a Brian Carson style stunt jump in the middle.

Recommendations for the stunt jump is my personal favorite set of cars, the Burnside Pack of cars.

Track created using chevys10’s 1986 Taurus Monster Truck.

Thanks to Damian Bowers for beta testing this track!
Thanks to Eric for testing out the angle/position of the Christmas Trees!

    Enjoy!

  11. Remington County Fairgrounds Round 2

    ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION***
One of my beta testers seemed to be plagued by lag on this track. After removal of the chain-link fencing, the track ran much smoother.
Therefore, I made two versions. Mirror 1 is the more detailed track. Mirror 2 is the LOW LAG version with the chain-link fencing removed.

Remington County Fairgrounds is another track that I first created in MTM2. The inspiration from this track came from the brilliant MTM2 track made by Dustin Hart called Laurance County Fair. One of my all-time favorites. I wanted to make a fairgrounds style track, and I wanted it to be big, crazy, and fun. This second incarnation in the Remington Fairgrounds series fulfilled this goal of mine, as did it’s previous incarnation.
Now it is back and better than ever in RoR!

Additional notes: All the signs on the track have been set with no-collide properties. The fencing is also set with no-collide properties.
For fun, the Truck Shop is in place for you to swap between your favorite trucks anytime you like.

  12. San Marco Arena 1st Stop (2005)

Thank you for downloading San Marco Arena 1st Stop (2005). This is the first version of the San Marco series of tracks, and was my last best track that I released in MTM2.
The racing course for both the monster trucks and offroad trucks is a classic St. Louis Style, twin oval layout. The freestyle is off the hook. Complete with wild and crazy obstacles/hits with plenty of opportunity for crossthread, slap wheelies, sky wheelies, and just about anything else you dare to pull off. Play it smart. This is not a track that is meant to be “Meents’d” over.
Additional notes: All the signs and poles on the track have been set with no-collide properties. The signs are for decoration. The poles are not necessarily meant for penalties. They are in place as a guide of where the racing course and direction is.
For fun, the Truck Shop is in place for you to swap between your favorite trucks anytime you like.

Thanks also go out to the many kind people who have donated/supplied me with wonderful models/art/resources in which I build my tracks with. Thank you all!
