CMDeerfoot Posted January 6, 2018 Author Share Posted January 6, 2018 Wow, what a wild week it was for not only the competitors but everyone involved with the East Tour here in SMRA. It started out with east tour officials having to scramble to find a new venue last minute as the Montgomery County Fair unfortunately had to shut down due to unforeseen circumstances, but luckily a nearby venue famous in the Sim Monsters community stepped up to the plate and helped us make the event happen. The folks at Mankato Speedway heard what happened and immediately contacted us and let us know that their track was open for us to use, and with combined work force of the track and the SMRA officials the course for the monsters was put together in record time. On top of all that, word spread quickly about the return of the monsters to the famed speedway and the people came out in force to see the stars of the SMRA East Tour battle it out. But what they didn't expect to see was so much carnage by the end of the night, as all but 2 trucks wrecked in freestyle. We didn't think it was possible to top the amount of damage that happened in Paxton, Il, but as it would turn out it was. After all was said and done, @Michael Alford took home the racing win in his first event of the season, and @CIDRA racer & @tddtwid tied for the freestyle win putting a stop to @RobbieMilburn's freestyle win streak.
