DannyMackey
Alright, so in order to make these rules as clear as possible, I am posting an entire thread for people to ask questions about the rules for truck modifications. Along with the rules being listed in the rule book (which you can read here), here is the full section for truck modifications: NAMT is a fully custom league, limitations to customization are listed here. Truck modifications must be approved before racing. Truck files and .zip’s should be uploaded and emailed to northamericanmonstertrucks@gmail.com for approval. Once approved, you are allowed to compete. Trucks must be submitted for approval by midnight of the day before an event. Trucks must be entirely standalone when uploaded. Trucks will not be approved if files are missing. Truck sounds are required for approval. Modifications tutorials can be found here https://goo.gl/pV88ie and here http://sim-monsters.com/topic/9087-node-beam-editing-with-blender-249b/ Note: Not all modifications listed in this tutorial may be legal, be aware of what you are doing before making changes. Note: Rules pertaining to allowed changes listed in this tutorial are not official for NAMT, as they are old rules from SSRS. Truck file documentation can be found here: http://docs.rigsofrods.org/vehicle-creation/fileformat-truck/ Sections will be directly addressed based on their documented section title. Node/Beam modifications: Nodes/beams may only be modified from a base V4 truckfile, no nodes/beams may be added or deleted to or from the truck file unless otherwise stated. Nodes/beams may only be modified in order to more fit the shape of the chassis being used. Custom chassis are explained in the section below. Nodes such as shock nodes, four link nodes, and sway bar nodes may be kept at their stock position or moved closer to match the chassis shape. Truck files will be needing of approval before being allowed to race. Ask before you attempt to change something if you are not sure, ignorance is not an excuse. You may add or remove sway bars from your truck to better adjust handling. You may make front chassis nodes 16, 17, 35, and 36 non-contactable in order to better adjust handling. It is suggested you make flag nodes 119, 120, 121, 122, 123, 124, 125, 126, 127, 128 and,129 non-contactable to avoid awkward landings and rebounds. Any other possible edits to the node/beam are illegal and are a punishable offense. Suggested range is between .75 - 1.0, but values may vary depending on your node beam. This is an optional modification for your truck, consider testing with and without it and decide for yourself if you want to use them. Excluded modification sections: All sections not listed in Required, Open, and Limited sections are not allowed to be added, changed, or removed if already in stock truck file. Custom Chassis: Custom chassis designs are allowed in NAMT, but must meet the following requirements: Chassis must follow modern tube chassis design. Leaf-sprung, cantilever, independent front suspension, independent rear suspension are not allowed for this league. Chassis designs may be denied under any circumstance.
