If someone worked hard on something its only right they get some recognitioin for their work and not for who they are. And it was sometimes abused by people when it was still around a few years ago. Just because it could be monitored doesnt mean someone cant downvote for the hell of it. The cons outweigh the pros, as a matter of fact, there are no pros.
