Well after almost a year passing since the last SSRS event, we are finally back to the race course for our first Preseason event of 2015.  We will be running at a course we ran last season, a custom Philadelphia course designed by Julio Vellon Jr.  It is one of the newest racing designs for a course for Sim-Monsters, Jersey Style.  While another Jersey Style was debuted at East Rutherford last year, Julio also designed his own (before FELD I might add).  It is a variation of Chicago Style, offering 3 additional, tighter turns to the course to mix up things.  Racing should be close and freestyle should be exciting.

 

In making the Preseason exciting and worth running for everyone, we will be offering a special incentive for everyone running.  The Overall Preseason Points winner will receive first truck selection before sign-ups open.  While they will have to pick within or below their rank, they will be given the first pick before anyone else.  Hopefully this will help make the Preseason more than just a few fun-runs before the Regular Season kicks off (May 29th by the way).

 

Lastly will be the event format (which will be constant throughout the Regular Season).  We will be following the Fox Sports 1 Championship Series format, obstacle course, racing, and freestyle.  We will be running 16 trucks, with the top 8 racing, the bottom 8 in the obstacle course, and all 16 freestyling.  I will be sure to cover all information in detail during the Driver's Meeting before the event.

Event Times:
  • Sign-Ups:
    • Opens: Wednesday, April 22nd, 2015 @ 5:00 est/4:00 cst
    • Closes: Saturday, April 25th, 2015 @ 7:30 est/6:30 cst
  • Qualifying:
    • Opens: Saturday, April 25th, 2015 @ 5:00 est/4:00 cst
    • Closes: Saturday, April 25th, 2015 @ 7:30 est/6:30 cst
  • Event:
    • AIM Chat Opens: Saturday, April 25th, 2015 @ 7:45 est/6:45 cst
    • Driver’s Meetings: Starts once 16 drivers are present
    • Obstacle, Racing, and Freestyle: Starts shortly thereafter
    • Field size is the Top 16 Qualifiers, anyone slower is a fill-in.
    • Faster 8 will race, slower 8 will compete in obstacle course.

Also as a note, we will be following general rankings for sign-ups.  They will be joined as follows:

  • Platinum
  • Gold & Silver
  • Bronze & Rookie

 

Basically, for this event, and possibly a few other Preseason Events, you can pick more trucks that may be a rank higher than you (ie: Silver Driver Guy can run a Gold truck, as well as anything below his rank).

 

Thread will be unlocked once sign-ups open, once it's unlocked, feel free to sign-up!
