Winter Heat Rules - 2016

By: DaveTheSmasher

Version # 1.0

General Overview:

The Past Present Racing League's goal is to provide a fast paced, entertaining and competitive environment for all competitors. The following rule set is a guide for league officials and participants to adhere to at all times. Anyone not adhering to the rules set forth are subject to suspension until the next season of racing begins.

Event Scheduling Overview:

All events will be conducted on Monday or Tuesday nights, subject to availability of league president. In the event that an event can not be scheduled for a Monday or Tuesday evening the schedule will carry over to the next week until all five events are completed. There will be no events conducted without the league president available at any time.

Event Time Format:

7:00 PM EST - Event Chat Starts (AIM and Teamspeak)

7:30 PM EST - Qualifications Open

8:30 PM EST - Qualifications Close

8:45 PM EST - Racing Begins

9:30 PM EST - Freestyle Begins

11:00 PM EST - Event Ends

League Officials:

There will be a maximum of four league officials inside of the racing server at all times during the event. The officials will consist of the league president and three officials of the presidents choosing. These officials have the ability to point out penalties and inform the league president to hand out official rulings. No official is permitted to have the final say in any manner.

Officials will be upheld to a strong professional set of standards. If found to be out of compliance the official will be terminated from the position.

Modern Division Rules:

Competitor Vehicles:

All signups must contain a direct link to a complete, finished and working truck. Any truck that is unable to be loaded in game will be banned from competition until the problem area is resolved on the competitors behalf.

Any body style, chassis type or era may compete in the Modern Division.

No illegal alterations may be performed to a truck. If it does not fly in other leagues, it will not fly here.

Any vehicle deemed to be illegal will be subject to inspection by a league official trained in truck design. If deemed illegal post event the competitor is banned for the remainder of the season.

Alterations to vehicles after the first event are highly discourage, the extra processing time required by the league president and the staff is not time constructive. Simple skin changes should be reserved to the final event.

Racing Rules:

Racing will be conducted prior to freestyle for all modern day events.

Qualifications will consist of two passes in each lane by a competitor. The fastest time will be used to place a competitor onto the racing bracket. If a tie breaker is required the second pass time will be used to determine who places where.

Racing Bracket is seeded based on the top 12 fastest trucks in qualifications, see the below image for a representation of how the brackets will work:

bracketspic.png

All racing rounds are conducted without a stop watch timer. All finishes are heads up and will not be time recorded.

Fast loser position is reserved on either side of the bracket for the fastest truck in qualifying that loses in the first round.

In the event of a tie, the race will be reran if the officials can not determine a winner. The match up then becomes a best two out of three race to determine who advances.

Competitors with technical ailments such as poor connection, sudden crashes of the software or other computer related issues may be subject to having their match up dropped to the bottom of the bracket but only on a case by case basis. This means that repeat offenders will not be given the same leeway after several occurrences of a "delay of game".

There is a 3 minute waiting period enacted as soon as the first competitor pulls to the starting line. After the 3 minute period the competitor unable to connect to the server is disqualified and the next fastest, or loser from that previous match up takes the competitors spot.

Each event will have an information page created, and will feature the individual track parameter penalties for course cutting, vehicular contact of a disabling nature and missed ramp violations.

In the event of any rollover regardless of severity the competitor becomes disqualified. This is a penalty that can be enforced post finish of the race match up. Competitors are required to come to a complete and full stop to signify the end of a race, before any celebratory maneuvers can be performed.

Freestyle Rules:

Freestyle is unrealistic. This means that a driver can perform at whatever pace is comfortable and not be deemed inappropriate to what is witnessed in real life. Multiple backflips, massive air etc. are all encouraged!

Judges include the three selected officials and league president as the alternate when an official is performing on the track.

Each judge scores on a scale of 1 to 15, making a total of 45 points available.

Breaking down the spread each judge will score based out 5 possible points for each criteria: Speed, Maneuvers, Saves. The league president will ask each judge to deliver their score based on those criteria.

There is no bonus time score, bonus time allowed or maneuvers to be performed once a clock expires. Each maneuver performed after the clock has been completed is a deduction of one point from the final score awarded. This is to keep the event moving along in a timely fashion.

Freestyle runs will consist of a 2 minute time limit.

The first 30 seconds of the time limit if a un-savable rollover is to occur the driver is given a grace period to continue performing the run. After 30 seconds any un-savable rollover is determined a completion of the performance. Use of the grace period is a deduction of one point off the total score.

If a flip save is performed (crab walking onto all four tires after rolling over, endos, unsuccessful back flips etc.) there is a deduction of one point from the total score for each flip save that happens during a run. If the roof touches the ground expect a one point penalty to be added to the run if the truck is re-righted by the driver.

Classic Division Rules:

All signups must contain a complete link to an unaltered Diggerfan Replica Leaf Sprung truck found here: http://sim-monsters.com/index.php?/profile/85-diggerfan/content/&type=downloads_file

Any truck that is not a Diggerfan Replica will be disallowed from competition. It is hopeful that after Winter Heat this will encourage others to begin replicating leaf sprung trucks from the 1980's for league use. We are more focused on the aspect of leaf sprung racing then getting the vehicle volume increased for this season.

No illegal alterations may be performed to a truck. If it does not fly in other leagues, it will not fly here.

Any vehicle deemed to be illegal will be subject to inspection by a league official trained in truck design. If deemed illegal post event the competitor is banned for the remainder of the season.

Hardships with frame rate should be documented on the signup form. In the event that a competitor faces another that is signed up using the same truck the person lowest in points will be asked to switch to a different replica so that the driver will not experience issues in frame rate while in the racing match up.

Racing rules will be following the same of the Modern Division. Please see above.

Each event will have an information page created, and will feature the individual track parameter penalties for course cutting, vehicular contact of a disabling nature and missed ramp violations.

Sean, you can run whatever is legal in other leagues here. My concern is trucks thst have the ability to reright themselves for the most part.

As I get signups I'll be checking into things to get a better understanding on that front.

At this point concerning leaf trucks with custom paint I'll have to say no unless Digger fan says otherwise. I don't want to interfere with his work having been edited down on a high basis.

MULTIPLE SIGNUPS FOR THE SAME TRUCK ARE OKAY!

Now that the weather is cooling down I thought it would be appropriate to ask the question what do others do for front heat while driving during Winter months? I know we are not in Winter yet but today sure feels like it

Thanks in advance,

Twins

can you not post random stuff on dead threads anymore, it's really unnecessary and it makes it look like you're only here just to troll, just saying

Its just a random post bot that joined the site and seems to post from other forums based on keywords, which is likely why this "Winter Heat" thread has a post related to heat in the winter. Here's the original post word for word.

I haven't taken any action against it yet because to be honest I'm quite a bit entertained by how it posts, and tbh the site isn't as active as it once was, but if it's causing enough of a nuisance I can take care of the account and stop the posts
