  1. Thanks man. Yeah when my old tower crashed in early 2016 I kinda got out of everything. I ended up getting a buddy to semi-rebuild it, but haven't done anything with it. Ended up meeting a woman, getting married, and taking care of other things, but like I said I've been checking in on the site off and on. You guys are doing some amazing things. I've just recently recontracted the Monster bug and wanted to get back into the ol' SM life. I'm currently building an Axial SMT10 that I've sourced from multiple places online, since they discontinued them before I could buy one. The wife and I are planning a big move to Texas soon, and I'm gonna look into getting a new computer so I can get back into ROR. Was just curious what all had changed since a few years ago.
  2. Hey guys. It's been a while since I've done anything in ROR, but I've occassionally been checking the site. It's amazing how far you all have driven this community in just the short time I've been away. I'm really wanting to get back into the scene really soon, but I'm sure a lot has changed since 2015. The last time I was using the trucks and tracks we were still on .37 and using AIM to chat. I've tried combing the site for all the updates, but haven't found much. If anyone can give me a crash course in all I'd need to get up and running again I'd really appreciate it. I had a few projects that never really saw the light of day, and I'd enjoy being able to get back at it. Thanks again everyone for still having the best monster truck experience to date. Hope to see you guys online again soon!
  3. Figured since I haven't done anything with this in a while, and since John Dough's BKTs look so boss, I thought I'd get back to updating it. Not much left to do, mainly just change the color on the shocks and tidy up a few loose ends. If anyone wants to throw some lexan on it that would be great.
  4. That Over Bored is looking great! I wanna add a windshield to the Mutt I've been working on but I haven't attempted it yet. Haven't done my research into making transparent textures yet.
  5. I've been giving him a mixture of Mighty Bone and Minwax. So I've adjusted a few things. Fixed the sharp edges with the png, and toned down the spec map more. Lemme know if you guys think I should tone it, or anything else down. I like bodies that have a little shine because I think they look more like the real thing, but I guess I got a little too gloss happy when I redid the body.
  6. Yeah I just wish I knew what I was doing. Making a truck once a year or so isn't the best form of practice.
  7. I see what you're saying now. Around the edges it looks rough. Might be the layer masks I used in Photoshop. I'll tweak it and see if it'll smooth out.
  8. Upon further review, yes the Mutt was too shiney. Knocked some of the sheen off so you kids won't go blind.
  9. Progress. It's getting closer.
  10. Thanks man. I was originally gonna use the one in the V4 parts blend but thought this one looked cooler. I'll fix it up.
  11. A little Mutt update. I decided to just redo the chassis components from the ground up. I started with the frame and added everything back in, taking bits and pieces from various chassis. Don't mind the sponsors on the sponsor plates, they're only temporary. I've still got a little bit of tweaking to do, and finishing the sponsor plates and then I think it'll be closer to being done.
  12. Since I had a little downtime and I'm kinda at a hold on the Mutt, I thought I'd give Metallica350's request for a Nitro Circus Raptor a shot. There's still a good bit left to do but it's off to a decent start I think. Basically just retro fitting and trimming the V4 NItro skin onto John Dough's Raptor body.
  13. First, make sure you have Beau's sounds in your V4 zip file. Then you have to open the .truck file and find this section, soundsources 98, GraveDiggerEngine 98, GraveDiggerStarter Then replace the "Digger" sounds like this, soundsources 98, Zoomies 98, MonsterStarter 98, Monsterreverse Then clear and regen your cache and you should be good to go. Side note: All of the exhaust sounds will be typed in the same way as the "Zoomie". So if you wanted mufflers you'd type Mufflers instead of Zoomies, and so on. The Starter and Reverse sounds will stay as they are above. Hope this makes sense.
  14. I might give it a shot. That would be an easy truck to convert. Did something similar with my Georgia Scorcher truck.
  15. Cool man. Guess I need to get to work removing those parts of the body.
  16. I would if I could. I thought about using Malkey's n/b he did for the tail on his Mutt, but as far as the rest, I don't even know where to start. I'm not really a big fan of the ears on that model anyway. If someone wants to attempt it I'd say gopher it.
  17. Minor update. I'm guessing that there's a shader issue or something with 0.38? Because I put the truck into my 0.37 pack and the chassis and exhaust are shaded like they should be. Still need to get the sponsor plates worked out and tweak a few more minor things and she should be good to go. Also not sure why when I snap a screenshot that those black outlines show up around certain stuff. They're not there in game. Weird. :/ *UPDATE* Got a few minor things done. First off a big thanks again to Jon Cannon for helping me out with the chassis. If not for him this thing would still be a decently painted body sitting on a turd. I got the chassis updated with chassis plates, just gotta finish getting all the sponsor logos and I'll throw them on. I updated the paintjob a little. I wasn't digging how light the ears were so I fixed those, as well as repositioning the MJ logos. Also fixed the issue I was having with the black outline on the body, turns out I was my fault for not moving the inner body on the correct axis in blender. Doh. I managed to get the "bones" plate finished up and it looks pretty cool. Hopefully not much left now.
  18. Got a little more work done on the Mutt. Updated those janky Digger rims with a resized and repainted set of Johan's rims. The truck is getting closer to looking more like a replica, still working on adding some spec maps to the chassis. Thinking that I may have to go in and retexture the whole thing to get it to work after all of Jon's hard work. May attempt it anyways since I'm wanting to add the sponsor plates and the "Beggin For Bones!" skin on the bottom. Hopefully I'll have this thing wrapped up in the next day or so. Later taters.
  19. I was just thinking earlier about how the wheels weren't the right color. I'll either swap them out or repaint them. Also gonna try and get the sponsor plates on as well as the Beggin for Bones on the bottom.
  20. A little forward rake never hurt anybody. Finally got the stance I was after and got all the links and shocks lined up, still need to adjust the driveshafts, but a big thank you to Jon Cannon for hooking me up with the updated chassis for this bird! Gonna try and get some spec maps on the chassis and then I think I'll stick a fork in this thing.
  21. Got the Mutt in game earlier and got the bugs worked out in the spec map. Just wish I was a little more savy in Blender so I could update the chassis a little. That muffler is just not doing it for me. Should have everything ready and up for download later today, as long as there are no complaints about the parts I used. Later taters. Edit: I'm tinkering with the .truck file now lowering the truck a little bit cuz I noticed it was a little too tall. Have trouble figuring how to position the links, but hopefully I can get it worked out.
