DannyMackey Posted March 27, 2020 Share Posted March 27, 2020 The last time we brought a special event to Sim-Monsters, it was every driver for themselves. This time around we're changing things up! We will be hosting the first annual All Star Challenge, a brand new event format pinning two teams against each other in racing and freestyle competition across 3 weeks of competitive action. Team captains Mark Colineri and myself will draft two teams to do battle at a refurbished 4Corners Coliseum over 3 events. So be sure to sign-up and get ready to battle it out and determine which team is better! Event Rules and Format: Replicas, Repli-customs, and Customs are allowed. ALL TRUCKS MUST BE UPLOADED TO THE SITE. Sign-ups will close before the first event, at which time Mark and myself will draft the competitors onto two teams. For each event, the fastest 12 people from each team will get into the event (12 fast from Team Mark and 12 fastest from Team Danny). Racing will consist of a series of matchups across up to 4 rounds. Round 1: #1 Qualifier for Team Mark vs #1 Qualifier for Team Danny #2 Qualifier for Team Mark vs #2 Qualifier for Team Danny etc. Everyone who wins their race will earn 1 point for their team and move into the next round. For example, if #1 from Team Mark wins and #2 from Team Danny, the next round would start with these two people racing. If there are too many people from one team to make an even number of races in the next round, the slowest drivers on that team will be removed, earning bonus points to that team. For each extra driver a team has after a round is 1 point times the round number (e.g. 3 left over after finishing round 2 is 6 points) This will continue until one team is eliminated. Racing will not be a matter of being the last man standing, but a matter of earning the most points for your team. Freestyle will be 2 minutes, no restrictions to realism. Further rules will be explained before each event. Points will be earned towards each team through the place each driver finishes in the field (e.g. winner earns 24 points, 2nd earns 23 points, etc.). After all 3 events, the team with the most wins will be the winner. MVP Awards will be awarded to the drivers who earn the most points for their team.
