Nascarfan98
It is obviously the weakest of my strengths when it comes to making tracks. as shown here on atlanta 2013 If anyone can make a video tutorial or guide me through the process on aim that would be great
0 Mjamfan22
Its hard to explain imfor me at least and for me it would be a lot to type so i will TRY to make a tutorial on how to. I actually might make 3 tutorials. Low vert ramps-thanks to rock/danny, how to texture the good way-rock/mark, exporting so look for those soon. 0 Simpleton
Yes. I second this. Texturing is by far the most frustrating part for me. I can build models pretty well for a beginning in Blender, but the materials and texturing just go right over my head. And i've read every wiki. 0 Patriotic Canadian
Think of it as inverse oragami, you're doing your best to take a 3d surface, and unfold it onto a 2d plane. Mark seams by selecting edges and hitting control E > Mark seam, and think of it as a deflating baloon, try and 'slice' up the stress points so it'd fall flat to the ground

If you look at mine and Danny's tracks, most of them have atleast 4+ faces to each ramp.
0 Patriotic Canadian
or if you want to be a cheating little bastard, just model low poly crap and subsurf it

Only problem is I never know where the seams are for when I go to paint the UV map. Also is there a way to save the uv map as a picture so i can edit it in photoshop? 0 Thargo
Well its the loop cutting method, not really the low vert method.

0 Klayton
I'm sorry PC but I'm pretty sure these people want a tutorial from a track maker. UV mapping a track is different from truck mapping.
