Aight, so here's the complete guide I followed when I started making tracks--everything from modeling, to texturing, to exporting; it's all there (I know it says part 1, but it's basically all the essentials).

Making any track takes certainly a large devotion of time, but it can be very rewarding in learning a new skill set of modeling through software like Blender.

I'd recommend you play around with modeling and manipulating shapes into things such as ramps first, ya know, before adding cars and other items (check out http://sim-monsters.com/files/category/15-track-building-items/).
