  1. So, I am working on a realism soundpack and I extracted a few sounds from some videos, my question is how can I deepen the final sounds in rigs of rods? What I mean is that the sounds have a gain applied to them when rendered in game and so they sound higher pitched than normal. Is there a way that I can counter that gain and make it sound closer to the video instead of a nascar engine lol. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I used to have an AMD FX-6300 and had the same problem over cars and anything with a significant amount of verts. Unfortunately, I think it's an AMD thing because I switched to an i7 6700K and don't have that problem anymore. However, I only had the lag issues in ROR 0.37. 0.4 ran very well with the fx 6300, so if you are using 0.37, I think it's an optimization issue.

I'm using .37, so yeah im pretty sure thats the reason. Too lazy to move to 0.4 and my league runs .37 so I guess I just have to deal with it. Thanks for the reply MJFanatic.

If I'm posting this in the wrong forum, it's probably 'cause I didn't know where else to put it.

Title says it all. I'm already in one but to be honest, it's pretty boring and we only got five drivers. Therefore, I wanna post this up and see if I can get any advice from anyone.

I primarily use 0.38, just 'cause I find the handling on there easier compared to the other versions, but I'll use 0.37 if I have to (I don't know where to get 4.6)

Most leagues requires everyone to have an AIM or Discord (I'm creating a Discord account, heard alot of guys talking about older versions of AIM. Don't know where to get 'em)

Aside from all of that, I don't know if my age is going to have a negative factor or not (I'm twelve, but I'm not a squeaker. Everyone here seems to be in their mid to late teens)

So, that's that. Any advice on how I should get started in leagues?

Check out RORFS, we've got our season 4 coming up soon and sign ups are open!

  4. I get lag over cars on some tracks not all, its a small hiccup. I don't know why but its like the frames dip below 30fps while everywhere else gets 60fps. My pc specs are: CPU: AMD Fx-8350, GPU: GTX 580 1.4GB, RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB. I can more than handle Rigs of Rods maxed out but I need to know what to turn down specifically to fix the hiccup I am having and keep everything smooth, or at least be told the reason behind it. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it.

I could just wipe all packs and v4 folder, re download everything, if you can tell me how to do it the correct way.

I recommend getting Winrar http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm, look for the download at the top. It will allow you to open up the downloads and get all the individual texture files etc. so that you can click and drag them into the packs or vehicles folder. Thats how I do mine and it works perfectly for me.

  6. A recommendation to start us off, please don't try this if you cant run the base game maxed out.

First off you want to get Sweetfx Reshade, this is a simple injector that injects a filter to make the game look better color wise etc.

Next I have included my Sweetfx settings that I use in my screenshot. No amount of screenshots will ever do all this justice, its really awesome once you get it going. The colors are a lot darker in the screenshots too for some reason.

If you have nividia use control panel and force edit the settings of rigs of rods to the max. I put mine as high as I could go with every setting. If you are running AMD well its gonna be hard because I have no clue on how to do the equivalent with AMD cards.

Once all that is done and you have Sweetfx running with the game it should look a ton better. If you have troubles look up how to activate Sweetfx for any game. Ill be nice and put a link here:(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYwdp9flySs)

That tutorial is pretty easy, when you get it take my settings and place it in the Sweetfx folder unless you want to create your own settings which is a bit harder and takes a bit of time to tinker with all the numbers.

But there you go, its dark but the colors and edges look amazing, you wont be disappointed if you try.

  7. So I got the game it runs pretty well, only problem is that when I go into any kind of race or practice as soon as I pull onto the track and begin accelerating the game stops working all together. I really dont understand it and its making me mad. I dont know if any of you guys have had the problem but id sure appreciate it if someone could help me out.

  9. I want to play on Cifpo with a buddy of mine, the only problem is my computer is acting strange. He can get on no problem but as soon as I go to connect to the server it gives me window saying "Network Fatal Error: Establishing network session:" so I click okay and instantly it pops up another window saying "Unable to connect to the server. It is certainly down or you have network problems." If someone could help me out or shed some light on this for me it would be greatly appreciated. P.s My internet is perfectly fine.

  10. Get a 2TB hardrive and throw 16GB of RAM. Heres how RAM works, RAM basically is the speed of your computer. The higher the RAM the less the graphics card has to go to the processor for memory so the faster it goes. My rig at the moment that im building is this

    Case: A31 Thermaltake

    Processor: FX-8350 4.0ghz 8 core

    Graphics Card: Gtx 580

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD

    Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600

    Power Supply: Corsair 500W

    Mother Board: ASRock 970 Pro3 AM3+

    OS: Windows 8

    Sound Card: Asus Xonar DSX

    Total: $852.00

By the way you are paying way to much for that Intel Processor. Mine is only going to be $170.00
