  1. Yeah I did some back tracking and found in my downloads folder from over a year ago the .exe file for .38.67 , that's the version I always ran and liked the best. I just tried a newer version because it looked like all the online races are on newer versions.

  2. Dumb question but I've been playing for a year or two now, never updated to 4+. I updated to 4.7 and wasn't too thrilled with it.  So two questions really , one what version do most people use. Two , I had  a 3.something version I can't remember what it was. Worked great and everything looked good.

Basically all I have to go off is the instrument cluster was like a black bar , it wasn't big gauges like newer versions. Anyone have any clue what version it was?

  3. This might be a newbie question but is there a setting to change to make the trucks not hesitate between gear changes? I noticed the northern nightmare 2015 truck is one of the only ones I've noticed that shifts quick with no hesitation .

  4. I think after he edits the .truck file he's going to file/save as and trying to save it as a new document. After you make your edits to the truck file just hit file/save then X out of the text document and you should be good to go. No need to save it again under xxxx.truck

I went ahead and made a new design on a some what more realistic handle for the switch. I was going to weld it up out of metal , but I figured pvc would suffice on a first attempt. It still needs paint , but works great and adds a little more realism.

There was a member that was working on the original Excalibur tuber with quarter elliptical leaf springs, dunno where it is now though.

Awesome, I'd like to of seen it finished. Sorry if I went about asking the wrong way. I'm still pretty new around here.

  7. I just took very fine wire, it was actually an old rgb cable that came with 3 wires hooked together . Then I traced on the two plastic sheets inside the keyboard to see what contacts they went to on the chip. There will be 2 separate ones for f1 and f2 then a common one they share . I soldered the wires very carefully to the chip so they didn't touch any other contact next to them . Then the two individual wires go to each side of the switch and the common they share go to the center of the switch.

  8. Here is a couple pictures , like I said a little crude , but I'm in the process of building another cleaner version. I just took a cheap $10 usb keyboard and took the chip and wired the switch to the 3 pins controlling f1 and f2. Then mounted it in a small box . In total about $15 for everything . Hopefully the links to the pictures work, they were too large to upload to the forum.

  9. Just curious if anyone on here has built a realistic rear steer switch and handle instead of just using buttons on a wheel or keyboard? I've built one using a keyboard chip and a left/right momentary switch. It works pretty good and it just more realistic than using a keyboard or steering wheel buttons. Just wondering if it's been done and how other people did it.

  10. I fixed the issue (for me anyways). I just uninstalled everything pertaining to rigs of rods. Reinstalled the older .38 version I had, then installed the v4 pack and beau4x4 sound pack. Once I changed the sound in the truck file to what I wanted all of the sounds came back working fine.

  11. Does anyone have a keymap for a Thrustmaster Ferrari red legend wheel? I bought a cheap wheel to try out first and can't seem to figure out making my own map. Also in the wheel settings what Axis is steer left and right? Just basically looking for some sort of guidance. All i want is the wheel to steer and the gas and brake to work. Everything else I can use the keyboard for . Thanks

  12. Price is really up to if they'll function good. I was looking at buying either the logitech G27 or 29, I just wasn't sure if you could get the cheaper Thrustmaster wheels to work. I haven't really read anywhere on here of people using them.
