  2. It's exactly what it sounds like. This is to discuss what annoys you and for others to talk about what grinds their gears. I'll go first.

You know what really grinds my gears: fidget spinners! Those things can kiss my ass and go to hell. Those things are everywhere, and they annoy the crap out of me! They're supposed to be relaxing for those with mental disabilities or for those who cannot stay still for long, I get that. But they don't have to be damn near everywhere.

It's a relief to know that Super Mario Odyssey won't be a repeat of Sonic 06. Sonic Mania and Monster Hunter XX caught my attention, but critics say Star Wars Battlefront 2 was the "big one" out of all games showcased at E3.

Battlefront 2 isn't "the big one." I'm super hyped for Sonic Mania, and as for "the big one" revealed at E3, that goes to Metroid Prime 4.

Hands down. You know you better be taking notes if a crossover as ridiculous as Mario x Rabbids was deemed one of the TEN BEST GAMES OF E3.

Agreed. If not Mario + Rabbids, there are several games that really caught my attention, and one that absolutely captivated me. The games that truly got my attention are huge ones like, Metroid Prime 4, Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga, Return of Samus, and others. As for what I fell in love with, that honor goes to Super Mario Odyssey.

No, and anyone that's been here longer than 6 months doesn't need to to know how often it comes up and nothing ever changes since there is usually a thread like this every year.

I don't need to read your entire thread to know exactly what it contains, threads like this have existed since the days of MTM2. Simplest way to put it is if you want the game you're envisioning then you need to create it yourself otherwise it will forever remain nothing more than a wish. Only thing I'll really say is don't get your hopes up if you ever expect an official release of something remotely close to what Rigs of Rods has become.

And, I'm fine with it being that way! Besides, in the long run; we've got ror and beamng to fill that void. But I do have a question. Of all posts to be revived (receiving notifications again), why this one?

I don't think a Switch could handle a realistic Monster Jam game, because of the physics calculations involved.

You could be right, or I'm right. But it's too early in that consoles life span for either of us to make a judgment like that.

  7. 2 hours ago, MJFanatic said:

That's nonsense. There is at least 2000 people who want a realistic game, and at $30 for the game, 2000 people, that's $60,000. Now, if they pay the game developers $500,000 then it's a win win situation for everyone. amirite.

The math checks out. If enough people pay $30-$60 for a copy of the game, they'll make a profit.

Alright, now that I have the time to do so, I'll capitalize on my ideas, but after I comment on what you said.

I completely forgot that my idea about DLC's wasn't in that little snippet I posted, but yes, DLC would be a part of my perfect game.
Now, the reason why those trucks and stadiums should NOT be unlocked from the get-go, is because those trucks and stadiums being unlocked in multiplayer would be a given so you COULD play with everyone else. Those trucks and stadiums would NOT be unlocked for single player. you have to EARN them. its play value. if everything is already unlocked then what's the point in trying? as for customization unlocks, I thought that was covered in my snippet, but yes, those should be unlockable on and offline. there lays the play value. it will make you want to play the game more. it will keep people playing. they will want to earn special bodies and parts and oldschool skins or skins from previous years. Monster energy would be an absolute no go. monster energy isn't good with the family/children crowd right now, thus why there are no toys, and it hasn't been in the games. BUT, that won't stop someone from making it in the customization feature, with vinyls and that f-150 or escalade body. so you basically cheat the system XD
DLC. I think dlc should be replica tracks from years past, with repaints so they can bypass copyrighting Advance Autoparts, and any other sponsors they use to have. as well as trucks not included in the game launch, such as independants and alternative skins for trucks, etc.this is how I would go if I was gonna make a MONSTER JAM game...

Now, I'm going to move on to my ideas. Considering everyone wants to have Independent promoters, AND FELD as the headliners of the game, it will be impossible to make everyone happy. I say, we take the Rockstar route, and mimic everything like they do with their game, about IRL stuff. make it all look like the IRL stuff, but in a slightly altered way, then take the customization feature for tracks and trucks, make the creator have great detail, and let the FANS make the replica tracks and replica trucks themselves. Albeit, we wont have particular trucks, but we can allow people to have customization options to get as close as possible. like having a face front clip, and a pirate hat, arms on the sides, a shark type body, a dump truck bed, etc props, so you can imitate the real things. everything else is up to how good at vinyl making people are. Mimic the stadiums/arenas, and add in raceways and stuff, that way we can all be happy! It's literally a win win! now just add in all the ideas from our original post, and we have a game, minus the IRL stuff. Now I know that people are gonna be sad they won't have Monster mutt, or Grave digger, but hey, at least this route, it will be more possible to have our cake and eat it, and like I said before, have ALIKE truck bodies, so people can replicate with vinyls! then put it on a fileshare system for everyone to be able to download! so people kinda CAN have Digger and Mutt! OR, if the creators wanted to, they could make DLC trucks that they release every so often, that sort of capture the identity of IRL trucks.

Absolute do not though, that I don't want to hear or see, is driving from show to show. that crap is dumb and boring to children (and basically everyone). remember who you're marketing to. YES I know we are kinda making this for adults, but there has to be a child aspect to this game, so there can be a base market to sell to.

To quote again, Forza Horizon 3 has a trophy truck, and the default skin for that is Monster Energy. Parents don't seem too upset about that, so incorporating the Monster Energy trucks cannot be that bad. So it's a go for them. Also, I have a better understanding that everything is unlocked for multiplayer, and you have to unlock content for the single player mode for replay value.

DLC can be nice and all but I like it better when the game actually ships with a reasonable amount of content.

The core game would have a majority of trucks. DLC would be indie trucks like time flys, and skins for trucks like Avenger, Digger, and Max-D.

Mine would be basically pod but a lot of upgrades, physics should be changed so you don't side wall and a little more physic change pod had great potential but they blew it, everything was great on it but it was lacking something, dlc, physic enhancements, more tours, and harder difficulties. If they made another mj game now and learned from their mistakes it would have been great, they needed a lot more stadiums, trucks, and more ways to customize trucks also be able to duplicate them so you can make more and not have to delete the one you already made, it would be cool if you can make your own tracks (idk how you would texture them or put in a stadium) BUT ONE THING IS IT NEEDS DLC

I already covered DLC in earlier posts with some help.

I can see why Monster Energy would be a no go, but at the same time there's merch of those trucks for kids.

Here's something I commented a while back. let me copy and paste it, then I'll build off of that.

My perfect game would have about the same setup as POD did. Except more in depth. You start with a pre set of unlocked trucks, and unlock more as you progress through the game. You start out with two events unlocked and you HAVE to complete both of them them to progress to the next two events. I say two because one should be an arena and one should be a stadium. The arena will have a racing, freestyle, time trial, and wheelie events. Wheelies scoring will be determined by the amount of angle you can achieve with a total score after all 4 hits. 4 hits, a nnd you can use all four corners. The stadium event will have racing, freestyle, wheelies, and a stunt mode where you can collect letters or destroy stuff or some rigamarole arcade style mini game. Along with the pre set trucks, you can also select a custom truck with pre set unlocked stuff, bodies, parts, decals, with more you can either unlock with progress or credits you earn. Do a series of say 5 or more events that have an arena and stadium stop, then Vegas by itself, no arena. Vegas has racing, freestyle, and stunt mode, with an encore event that is unlocked ONLY if you get gold/platinum in all three events, with a truck unlock that has the yearly vegas design on it. That's career mode. Unlocks can also include a chrome version of every truck. Have an online mode to go with it so you can play online with friends, as well as a track creator mode, and a file share system so you can share your custom trucks and tracks you make. Have stadium and arena events, as well as mini games like hide and go seek and etc.

Impressive, I like the idea. But I think I went a little more in-depth about everything and gave the reader a chance to breathe. Plus, DLC dude. However, I love what you can do in the areas, so we'll keep that. Just replace letter collecting or whatever with a donut contest for stadiums. So this is an amazing platform to build off of! One last thing, I think that the trucks like Grave Digger, Max-D, Avenger, etc. All of the real life trucks, stadiums, and arenas should be unlocked from the start so people can compete in online competitions from the get go. I say what should be treated as unlockables are customization tools for the truck and track builders. So people can make their own trucks, stadium courses, and arena courses with more tools available. Plus, each truck should have multiple skins. An example of this would be Monster Mutt Dalmatian as a skin for Monster Mutt. Or Mutant being a skin for Monster Energy.

For the career mode type thing, there should be an in-depth cuztomization. Like, REALLY in depth.

    For example:

1: Choose what chassis you wanna use

    Examples:

    • Cohen
    • CRD
    • Willman
    • PEI

2: Chose what kind of body you wanna use

This one I think is the most in-depth. You can choose any type of body you want, like a dump truck, school bus, semi truck, the list goes on.

Heck, you can make your own bodies.

    3: Paint schemes

Path of Destruction almost had this one nailed. The only difference is that you can actually put your trucks name on the truck. You couldn't do that with the custom trucks in PoD.

That would be pretty cool, but you forgot racesource (Pablo Huffaker's company) for chassis.

thought I would inncorperate my idea.
how about the ability to import trucks from ROR onto the game?
not sure how it would work in the game but feel free to brain storm.
(would most likely work for PC only)

That can work for the PC/Mac/Linux version of the game.
