  1. Racing Rules:

    1. Both front tires must make clean contact with every jump on the course. If one of the front tires crosses over the white line marking the sides of the jumps, it will be ruled as a 5 second penalty. If the driver that penalizes wins his race, he fore-fits lane choice the next round.
    2. There will be absolutely no lane crossing. If you touch the center line at all, you will be assessed a 5 second penalty as well. If your truck crosses the line with all 4 tires, you will be disqualified.
    3. This year we have brought back the carpad as our finish jump. The end of that jump is NOT the finishline, as it was in AME1. You must land the truck and drag to the finishline marked by the poles at the end of the track. This rule is just a reminder, as most of us are programmed to know that the finishline is generally the end of the final jump.
    4. If you make contact with a freestyle obstacle during your race, you will be assessed a 5 second penalty.
    5. We will NOT wait on you to join the game. If your opponent joins the game, makes it to the starting line, and is left waiting for you: You will be placed on the 3 minute clock. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you cannot connect, it is not our fault and we will move on without you.
    6. Turn Cars are not penalties.

    Freestyle Rules:

    1. Big air/Unrealistic air will be tolerated. However if you land awkwardly you will be RII'd and forced to stop your freestyle to allow officials to determine if your truck can continue after your violent hit. If you have any problems with the call, question the officials AFTER the event is over via AIM.
    2. Backflips will be allowed, but as stated above if you land awkwardly you will be shut off and it will be determined among the officials if you may continue.
    3. The more realistic you are, the better you will score. If you continually perform moves that are unrealistic(Examples: Doughnuts with the front and rear wheels turned the opposite directions, Landing from 40ft in the air and performing a slap wheelie, etc.) You will probably not score as well as other drivers. This is a fair warning.
    4. Hitting the wall hard will result in your truck being shut off. Wall hits tonight will NOT end your run. There are exceptions to this rule however. If you land on the wall, or purposely drive into the wall, you will be shut off and not allowed to continue.
    5. If you begin to flip over, and your roof touches the ground. Do not throttle into the rollover and try to save the truck. Momentum rollovers back onto the wheels will be considered by officials, if your roll is deemed to hard your run will be finished.
    6. The final rule for tonights competition is have fun. The more fun your having, the better this event will be and the more we will want to put on special events such as Fall Madness, Allmonsters Eve, King of the Hill Events, etc. Thank you, and have a great time.

If there are any questions about any of these rules, you may ask during the drivers meeting tonight.

  2. Allmonsters Eve 3 marks the third straight year that Allmonster.com has sponsored this online monster truck classic. All of the staff within Allmonster.com grew up playing in the world of MTM2 and could not be prouder to be able to bring back to this community by sponsoring this once a year tradition. This event is the biggest that we run all year. Its the first annual event in Rigs of Rods history and has provided some of the biggest upsets, surprises, an shocking moments within our little piece of the internet motorsports world.

The first Allmonsters Eve in 2010 was presented by Rigs of Rods Monster Jam, Sim-Monsters.com, and Allmonster.com. The track back then was large and meant to provide the biggest event in ROR History. It was so large in fact that, that it took two days to complete. 33 Trucks in one bracket, with a race course designed to provide close to 1 minute laps took quite a lot longer than expected. Racing was difficult, as the trucks back in those days were not designed to handle such tight corners. 1 driver however never had a problem. David Cooley mastered the course in Air Force Afterburner and was able to win the first racing event, as well as taking top qualifier the day before. Freestyle in the 2010 event was held the next day, and shocking the world of ROR with the win was Danny Maass in Chillin' Villian. Danny went out around mid-pack, and impressed the judges enough to have his score sit for the rest of the night well above the rest of the competition.

Last years Allmonsters Eve showed just how far our community had came in just one year. The track was a vast improvement over the year before, jumps no longer looked boxy and nothing looked to over the top. The racing course changed up, with very tight corners providing some close finishes all night long. In the end however, Mark Colineri took home the racing trophy, mastering the course and almost dominating the bracket just as David Cooley did the year before. Freestyle would be a different game however, with drivers pushing it harder than they did the previous year. Michael DesRoaches, the Sim-Monsters Custom Series Freestyle Champion laid down a run that astonished judges. He walked away from the night the AME Freestyle Champion, and certifying that 2011 was indeed his year as far as Freestyle goes.

2012 is a year that has brought about a lot of changes to the world of Virtual Monster Truck Racing. A brand new truck pack was the Sim-Monsters staffs main priority all year long. The idea behind it being that it would provide better racing and freestyle performances for every driver, as well as make the trucks handle as close to the real thing as possible within the games limits. The first person to strike was Eric Myers and the Warbird machine, taking Top Qualifier honors in last nights qualifying session. Tonight the pressure intensifies as 2 new drivers will be enshrined as Allmonsters Eve winners.

    1. Eric Campodonico, Warbird: 31.66
    2. Mark Colineri, Working Class: 31.82
    3. Danny Mackey, Mopar Magic: 31.82

    20. Andrew Wamsley, Wonder Wagon: 35.09

Those drivers are your field of trucks for AME3. The following list is the alternate list, incase someone does not make it tomorrow night:

    1. Jeff Murillo, Lucas Oil Crusader: 35.47
    2. Aaron Lurie, El Toro Loco: 35.71

IF a driver in the top 20 does not make the field, we will resort to this list. The first person on the list will be contacted first, if they do not respond we move down to the second, etc, etc. If you are an alternate, you will be inserted into the bracket in place of the driver that did not show up.

  3. Name: Josh "Dig" Rhodes

    Truck: Wreckless Intent

    Age: 26

Bio: Photographer for Allmonster.com and has worked closely with several monster truck teams over the years. Twenty-one time virtual Monster Truck World Champion(16 MTM2 Titles, 5 ROR Titles.)

  4. Beau4x4. The sounds are great. Their the best we've got going right now in ROR. I'm not knocking you in any way because i've tried to make my own sound pack before and i know how hard the sounds are to get perfect. I have Two complaints though that have to be brought up before you release those:

    1. Their to loud. The sound we have with the current/stock sounds that came with the Monster Truck in ROR are about perfect in terms of loudness. Right now, if we were to hold live event shows with the sounds you have right now, announcers would be talking over the truck noise and would have to speak up greatly just to get a voice over the trucks.

    2. The Idle. When your holding the brakes in the air the truck shouldn't sound like its sitting still in the pits. It should idle, not sound like its sitting still back in the pits. About 20 seconds into your video is how a truck with the sidepipes should sound at idle, 1:34 is how it should sound with Zoomies, 2:50 is how it should sound with the Magnaflows, and 4:14 is how it should sound with Collectors.

Those are my only two gripes. I think you've got a great start right there but their not finished quite yet.

  5. On to ROR. Once ROR really started to pick up in popularity, Mike Elmendorf and David Cooley decided to run the first series. RORMJ ran on all the concrete tracks that everybody loved. In the first series event, i was the Top Qualifier, and won the first ROR Monster Truck Freestyle competition driving Avenger. Back in the early ROR Days, trucks had a terrible time being cloned. Several people drove multiples of the same trucks. When we finally figured out how to clone trucks, i was given the chance to swap trucks. So i picked Amsoil Shock Therapy to drive and the rest is history.  RORMJ Was the first series that i swept, winning all 3 possible championships and was the first title . I never thought i'd ever do that, and never did in MTM2. To be the first guy to win a championship in ROR, let alone all 3, made me very proud.

When the Sim-Monsters series started, and i was offered the Grave Digger truck for the series i was also very proud. I was nervous the entire season because when Sim-Monsters started, there were so many new people. I didn't know if i'd live up to the name of the truck or if i could live up to the name of the truck anymore. I was happy to start off so strong winning a few racing events but freestyle always lacked in that season. Winning a second straight racing title, and another overall championship really made me happy.

Now, in ROR, i'm no longer competing for championships. Just out having fun, running special events, and in a truck that fits my driving style:

  6. I started driving in the virtual Monster Truck world when i was 13. I remember seeing an add for MTM2 over the internet and on the day of my birthday i was talking to my dad in the basement before my party saying how i wish i could have that game, it looked awesome. Of course all the birthday shopping was done though so i thought there was no way i was going to get that game. . .but to my surprise it was the first gift i opened up and i don't think i ever wanted to put that gift down. Within the year i had downloaded everything there was to do with MTM2 and started drag racing at the MSN Gaming Zone when everybody else was still rumbling/off road racing with the game. I was in MTM2 pretty much when dragging really started to get hot in the community.

The first truck i drove professionally might surprise alot of people, but i won the first freestyle i ever competed in wayyyyyyyyyyyy back in the day with Bulldozer:

    Bulldozer_zpsc781223a.jpg

I think if i remember correctly i competed in several more events then the league folded while i was leading the points in freestyle. Technically that made me freestyle champion, but honestly i never counted that as a title because we never finished the series. From there i drove several more trucks in several different league events. One of my favorite trucks back in the early days was Bionic Redneck. I got the idea for the truck from wrestling. At the time Stone Cold Steve Austin was being called the "Bionic Redneck" and thought it sounded cool for a truck name:

    BionicRedneck1_zps5f82656d.jpg

That truck was painted by CJ Bar, aka Meth. I think i won a title with that truck in one of my own leagues before i wanted a new truck. Thus Poison was born:

    Poison1_zps4c2a9448.jpg

Also painted by Meth. I ran this truck to what i considered my first real points championship in Freestyle way back in Corey Schwabs Renegade Monster Jam Series. Poison, i thought would be the truck i campaigned forever in MTM2, but that wasn't the case. I kind of grew tired of it after the 5th or so version so i stopped running it and came up with a new idea. When i was younger, i always loved the look of the Ford truck bodies, but hated their performance under the hood. Loved the performance of Chevy trucks, but didn't like the body designs very much. I was a kid, thats really all i noticed lol. So i put the two together in MTM2, even though in MTM2 it never mattered what motor you had in the truck. I put the Ford body on the truck and a Chevy motor in it and thus Half Breed was born:

    HalfBreed1_zps77f4b3ca.jpg

Didn't do much in the first Half Breed except run in several non-league events with it. I don't think i won anything with it in any official events. The second version was also pretty much a flop so i decided to scrap it as well. When i built #3 though, i found magic. That truck to me was like Grave Digger 7 was to Dennis Anderson. Half Breed 3 was the truck i drove to two championships in NTNT back in the day(Freestyle and Overall). It also led the racing points until the very last race of the season. I didn't feel it would have been right to have won the racing title anyway in NTNT because i never outright won a racing bracket in the series. Still, two championships on a dial up connection back in the day was amazing haha. I don't think anybody but those who were there remember the freestyle run that the original version of Half Breed 3 had at Brampton City Monster Jam. I still think to this day that was one of the best freestyle performances i've ever had. I was challenged earlier in the night by John Everett right after his freestyle. "If you can beat that Josh, you can have the win" he said before he left the game. It was a bit before my turn but that honestly stuck in my head, and truthfully kinda pissed me off. He thought he had the win sealed up with a 28. I went out there and just absolutely destroyed the floor. The following photo sequence is some screenshots from that run that were still on the old NTNT Website:

    NTNTBrampton_zps16aa41e1.jpg

Over the years in MTM2 i competed in the top leagues all the time. I never got the chance to run a full season in PPRL, but i did run and win in a few PPRL Events. One of my fondest memories was winning the 2nd PPRL Classic Clash driving Grave Digger #2. I could negotiate the turns tighter than anybody could and thats what won me the event. It was satisfying to win that, which was at the time the biggest race for the Old School trucks in MTM2.

I think though the absolute most fun i ever had was around the time the broadcasting became popular. Monster Jam Tour, ran by Kevin Payne pioneered that movement. MJT was different than most every other MTM2 league because it forced you to drive Realistically. It made you think before you hit every single obstacle. Either you drove like the trucks in real life, or you were kicked from the game. No BS. The first season of MJT, i came along late into. I drove various trucks in it. El Toro Loco at the World Finals, T-Maxx, and others that i can't remember off the top of my head. The first world finals was awesome. Kevin had live music, Chris Kaelin and Dave Collard on the mic announcing the show. It really was impressive. So impressive that i asked if i could announce a few events. In season 2, i drove Grave Digger. Sweeping a few events, winning the World Finals Freestyle title, and announcing several events like the World Finals. I eventually became the voice of MTM2.

After MJT was done, i ran in a knockoff league that myself, Jordan Robson, and Auz Grams created called MJM: Monster Jam Madness. It was basically ran the exact same way MJT was. I don't think it was quite as successful as MJT was, but it was still fun.

Various Digger Trucks i Drove in MJT and MJM:

    MJM Grave Digger 20:

    MJMDigger_zps44809e71.jpg

I can't forget to mention the time i spent in the first and really only budget league in MTM2, SPHRA. SPHRA was a semi-realistic league. Steve Parry ran it, and we had a little bit of a rivalry going on in his series. Between me, Parry, and Payne, it was really a tossup as to who won what championship. SPHRA World Finals 1 was a blast. Its also the place where i still believe to this day the closest race in MTM2 history took place between myself and Kevin Payne. I can remember listening to the broadcast and waiting to see which trucks theme music qued up and hoping it was mine, and when i heard Seek and Destroy i literally jumped up. At that point, i'd never won a world finals racing bracket and i was excited that i finally did it. I won freestyle to, which made that night sweeter. Racing though, driving Half Breed 3, was just phenomenal.
