Roli Christinson
Ok, so I've been hearing about backfaces. What are they? What do they do, and do they affect your track? Thanks.
0 MonsterJam2008
Backfaces, are basically what they are called. The face, or solid part is one the back or inside of a jump which causes wheel grabs and other glitches.
0 Roli Christinson
Wait, so do they appear randomly?
0 Hot Shoe
They appear if the face(s) have been flipped or reversed. You'll notice them if you're in textured/solid mode and see a gap in the faces that shouldn't be there. Easy fix is selecting the vertices associated with the flipped face, and either recalculate inside/outside or flip normals. Edit mode/W/Flip normals. 0 crazyman444
Just to add to what Hot Shoe said here is a example with a ramp I made awhile back. You can seemly see through this jump but in fact you are looking at the backside of those faces, which is a untextured side. On bodies you have to model the inside so you do no see through it.
