It's due to the master server for the original site being offline. You'll have to manually input the server name and port in order to get in mp mode. The devs for the current RoR version (RoR v. 0.4.5.1 and onward) are slowly working on resolving that issue, but it will take time, since everything from the old site is migrating to the new and current site.
