  1. Coty qualified THIRD?  Where does it say that because it sure doesn't on the website.

The time Coty produced from the championship race goes into the main lineup qualifying times. Damon Bradshaw is 2nd with a 16.167, Coty is 3rd with a 16.245, Neil Elliot is 4th with a 16.319.

  2. Remember how everyone said the real truck would be different and a lot better than the photoshop job?

    They lied.

As someone who's entire life has been with monster trucks, I am very happy that the USA-1 name is back out in competition, a long time coming indeed.

However, that bronze color for the chassis and rims to me throws the truck completely off. The new owner should of had the chassis black and the rims white, and maybe the driveshaft loops and 3rd member/brake shields could be red. That's just my opinion though.

  3. Well I took some of the advice from some of the people on here and decided to make my Wildwood, NJ 2014 track more accurate, track texture wise. The colors and flow of the sand are alot better than they were previously. So here it is currently now.

  4. Can you explain the disc, is there any video of it working? Or anywhere i can read about it?

    Here is the setup:

There are 3 metal rings together in a row. The middle ring is attached to brackets which are attached to the top and bottom of the knuckle. The outer 2 rings are bolted together underneath the middle ring so they can bolt to the wheel hub and spin with the wheel.

  5. This is still a work in progress, but here is my creation of Wildwood, NJ 2014 from last month.

Now I have 2 issues I am trying to figure out.

I asked a question in the Help and Support forum section about how I can make the turning poles non hitable. I can't seem to properly do it because you need Rigs of Rods Toolkit to make it work, but Rigs of Rods Toolkit does not work with Rigs of Rods 0.39, which is what I have.

Also as you can see by the pictures, many of the textures are white, and that should not be. Even though in Blender all the objects are textured, and the texture files are in the vehicles folder of Rigs of Rods, they don't show up in the game.

Any help to remedy these issues I would gladly appreciate it.

  6. Updates from Wildwood, NJ

-Steven Thompson will be driving Black Stallion this weekend since Michael Vaters' mother passed away earlier today.

-The track still has a lot of water on it, but it's expected to be bone dry come tomorrow night at 7:00pm.

-It will be S-course racing, but the turns are tighter than a nun, so there won't be any fast drifting this year in racing.

-All monster trucks will be on display tomorrow morning at select hotels/motels and will parade down Ocean Avenue a few hours before show time tomorrow night (7:00pm).

I just read the news about Mike's mom, a sad thing to hear indeed. Hopefully Steven will drive the wheels off of Black Stallion in her honor (I know he is definitely capable of it).

I'm leaving tomorrow at 1:30pm right after i'm done automotive school. I'll be arriving in Wildwood, NJ hopefully at about 4:30pm.

Is there a big sand hill on the track where we might see a repeat of Jim Koehler's launch from 2011?

  7. Philadelphia, PA Monster Jam line-up:

Grave Digger driven by Dennis Anderson, Spider-Man driven by Bari Musawwir, Monster Mutt Dalmatian driven by Candice Jolly, El Toro Loco driven by TBA, Team Hot Wheels Firestorm driven by Scott Buetow, Captain's Curse driven by Alex Blackwell, Black Stallion driven by Michael Vaters, and Overkill Evolution driven by Mike Vaters Jr.!

And Trenton, NJ Monster Jam will be on Saturday, December 27th and Sunday, December 28th. Interesting date selection for the kick-off of Q1...

Hopefully the people at Wells Fargo Center will move in the bottom first 6 or 7 rows of the arena so that the monster trucks can have more space to perform on.

Also, December 28th is my birthday. So not only will I be going on Saturday December 27th, it also looks like I will be seeing monster trucks on my 20th birthday!

  8. While I wait for videos from the events this weekend, i'd like to share something I found out with all of you.

I came across this Bigfoot documentary video and in the video Bob Chandler and Jim Kramer talk about a new Bigfoot chassis design in the works.

    FutureBigfootChassis2_zps76b1213c.jpg

The reason for this new chassis design is so that the shocks and sway bars can be moved inward alot more so the wheels can steer more, and so the engine can sit lower in the chassis for better center of gravity.

The only problem that I see is that some changes will probably need to be made to the steering assembly as well. The reason is because there is a limit of how far the knuckles can turn on the champagne glasses before the knuckles hit the axle housing.

Maybe that is what this axle assembly model is for.

But anyways I think this might be an interesting idea if the project moves fully forward.

Here is the link to the video where I found out about this.

Tim Bee's brand new Killer Bee is just a few short steps away from being 100% completed! This will feature a Ford Raptor body with all airbrushed work done by the whiz of airbrushing and fiberglass work Trey Myers, and it will make its first official public appearance/competition debut this coming Saturday, July 26th!

I haven't even seen the body yet and already this monster truck looks beautiful.

  10. Believe me, it is ridiculous when a monster truck flips over, knowing there is no way the driver can bring itself back onto all 4 wheels, and yet no RII is activated and the driver steps onto the throttle with all force trying to make the monster truck somehow get up onto it's side to flip it right side up. When those instances happen the monster truck's underside is visible for a very long time projecting toward the crowd and many others. There are lots of visible fast moving parts that can shoot out from underneath the monster truck. Yes, many of those parts have some protection to them to prevent that, but are they going to hold up at that moment? Better safe than sorry in my opinion.

Here are some examples of what I am talking about and I think should not happen.

There are many other examples I can name but I don't want to crowd up this post anymore than it already is.

  11. Anyone who knows me personally will know that Wildwood, NJ is my all time favorite city to see monster trucks.

It is very unique to see monster trucks performing on an actual beach. The beach itself is massive, so you have so much space for the monster trucks to perform on. There is a boardwalk right next to the beach where the event is held, which is nice because you have shops and food restaurants you can walk to. Not to mention there is an amusement park called Morey's Piers on both sides of the event area itself. Many people like amusement parks including myself and there is one right at your convenience.

The time of year the event is held is perfect, the very end of September and/or the very beginning of October. There is still a bit of people who are down there at that time but no where as much as there is during the summer time. Also during that time there is not as many arrogant teenagers down there to ruin the atmosphere like there would be during the summer time. In 2006 however the event was held on Labor Day weekend, and that did not work out that well, way to many people and arrogant teenagers in the city. The temperature is just right, not to hot, not to cold (however the night show's can get a little chilly at times).

Wildwood, NJ is one of my favorite places to visit, minus the arrogant teenagers. Each monster truck event every year is normally a great one, and this year should be no exception. This past Monday I actually went to Wildwood, NJ to the Wildwood Motor Events building on the boardwalk and asked if I could obtain a special pass to get into the pit area of the event. I told them my background and such and I gave them my information. They told me that it had to be talked over with their boss. So hopefully something good comes out of it.
