  1. The space right behind the planetary is just a support for the tether. The ring going around the outside of the tether support is just a spacer between the steering knuckle and the wheel tether so the tether won't get damaged. The space between the spacer and the knuckle is just there as space because inside that is the outer axle.

Thanks Donnelly. That's the only part of a monster truck axle assembly I was a little sketchy on.

  2. Both the axle assembly and Overbored look amazing. One quick question about the axle assembly though. I know everything that is apart of an axle assembly, but what is the exact name for the part that goes between the knuckle and the planetary? I know it spins and turns with the wheel because it bolts to it, but what is the exact name for it?

  3. Well here is, for now, the final product. This is Zane Rettew's Stinger from this year. I started this back in January and I finally got it completed. This is also the first Rigs of Rods monster truck I ever completely constructed. Even Zane himself told me he really liked it when I showed this to him at 2 prior monster truck events I went to.

  4.

6983525.pngMay like to say that last one is a custom im using for ROR - MO... and that all was handpainted on the New Insigators

I just want to let you know, to make them more accurate, there is a black front bumper on the actual body, as well as more body graphics on the hood.

    103_5262.jpg

There are also rear tail lights, Monster Jam logos, and writing on the back as well. Along with Paul Breaud's name on top of the windows too.

That's just a little constructive criticism to make the monster truck more accurate.

  5. New Chassis from the Shockwave Camp:

    acaedee3-c468-484b-b38d-6d9053076596.jpg

That would be Jessica Braukmann's (daughter of Bill Braukmann) new Be Aware chassis. The chassis was made by J&B Motorsports (the same company that built Backdraft, Shockwave, and Stinger). Hopefully with a 2 truck team we will see both Billy and Jessica run more often than just during 1st quarter at Monster Jam arena shows in the northeast.

  6. East Rutherford, NJ is about 2 hours away from me. My dad got an e-mail a few weeks back advertising $33 tickets and we thought about making a day for the both of us and going up to East Rutherford, NJ for the Monster Jam event. I will be going to 2 monster truck shows in New Jersey this weekend, but one of them is not the Monster Jam Path of Destruction show. I am actually going to both Saturday 7:00pm and Sunday 1:00pm KSR Motorsports monster truck shows in Berlin, NJ. Should be a very fun weekend for all of us.

  7. After talking to Ash Robertson through e-mail along with Zane Rettew at 2 monster truck shows I went to this past weekend I was finally able to get the proper body graphics for Stinger 2014.

    Stinger20145-26-20142_zpsa7b36f69.jpg

Here is the body with the current state of the chassis itself.

Also one question, both sides of the body are proper faces. Is there anyway I can make the inside face see through so I can add a fiberglass texture to the inside? Any help on that I would appreciate.

  8. Here are some videos from the Sunday show of Monsters on the Beach in Virginia Beach, VA yesterday. Lots of carnage from this show.

Travis Petri in Toxic flips over after jumping over the bus and rebounding into a slap wheelie.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mnjkpLYu30

Steven Sims Jr. in Hooked in a short but absolutely insane freestyle. Ended early after a flip over and broken spindle jumping crooked off the bus.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NC6t3yEIaf8

Ryan Disharoon in Saigon Shaker with a giant sky wheelie, but ended up flipping over because of it after losing it's balance.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdLrVw0CMJA

Steve Sims in a special pink Mother's Day Stone Crusher had a crazy freestyle run going with absolutely massive air over the bus but ended up flipping over after the rear wheels clipped the car stack sending Steve to nose over.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q33g4vNXMtA

And also, Jim Koehler in Avenger driving into the ocean.

After seeing these videos, many other videos, many photos from the event, and much information about this past weekend, I honestly think this was the all time best Monsters on the Beach event.

  9. Should we start a Saigon Shaker at YGS 2015 bandwagon?

Well first Ryan needs to run at Monster Jam shows before that even happens. But I can definitely see Ryan in the Young Guns Shootout next year or the year after that if he does perform at Monster Jam shows. Saigon Shaker was on display at this years World Finals so you never know, it might happen.

More progress on the Monster Jam World Finals 15 Overkill Evolution paint scheme. Need to adjust a few things then it's time to place logos!

At first I thought to myself,  what was different about the World Finals 15 body than any other body Mike Vaters II ran this year. When I was out in Las Vegas, NV I didn't see anything out of the ordinary different about the body even up close. Now looking back at pictures I can see there was pink edging around the flames, front grill was more black, and the Overkill Evolution wording was placed more spread apart from each other.

  11. Hello everyone, here is my creation of Zane Rettew's new Stinger from this year. There is still a bit of things I have to add to the monster truck and rework on before it is fully done, but for now I will show you all what it currently looks like as of today. So what do you all think of it so far?

Also the body has been made, all I need are the body graphics. I am going to a monster truck show next month which Zane Rettew will be at and I will talk to him about getting me the body graphics.

  12. According to Linsey Weenk's facebook, his Cohen chassis that was under Crusader was officially retired after the wreck at Vegas this year. He will be borrowing NEA's chassis for now but no word yet if the new chassis will be a inhouse or a CRD.

That sounds weird because the wreck Linsey had didn't even look that severe to retire the chassis.

  13. The only thing that worries me is that if someone happens to fully clear the quadruples, then they will probably crash head on into the backflip obstacles. Other than that and the 2 backflip ramps (exactly the same as World Finals 14 from last year) the track is looking great. Can't wait for tomorrow to fly out to Las Vegas, NV.

  14. Well as some or many might know I have had a live for die for passion for monster trucks ever since I first laid my eyes on one when I was a young child. Monster trucks are my entire life. One of the many thing I used to play during my childhood was Monster Truck Madness 2. I played that video game many days, and escalated to playing it almost every single day once I found out I could add custom made monster trucks and tracks into the video game. I then heard about this new video game called Rigs of Rods in 2011. I was intrigued by it because I heard many people say that it is the most realistic monster truck video game they have ever seen. I just wan't ready at the time to switch over because of all those years of playing Monster Truck Madness 2, I was to used to that video game to switch over just yet. But later that year in 2011 I tested out Rigs of Rods for the first time to see what all the buzz was about, and I played that video game all night long, I was immediately hooked. In 2012 I created an account here on Sim-Monsters so I could download many of the monster trucks and tracks posted to this website to play with, and also to see and be apart of the many discussions about Rigs of Rods and monster trucks in general. I never competed in any of the leagues hosted here because I was never exactly interested in them. When it comes to track and monster truck making I started out with Google SketchUp making a few tracks, then I eventually went to Blender where I on some occasions mess around with and build tracks and monster trucks. Ever since I began playing Rigs of Rods I improve a little every time I play, and right now I am good at playing Rigs of Rods.

So basically that's everything from me.

  15. Did a little bit of prop updating and placement for EVO

Only 2 things I would suggest updating to make it look more accurate.

First being the planetary hubs, they are fully blue.

    photo2_zps52e182cb.jpg

Also I would suggest adding shock tower brackets so that way the shocks look like they are attached to the shock towers instead of floating there.

  16. It's been a while since Randy Brown has competed in the World Finals, and nowadays rarely competes in a stadium show in general. But whenever he does compete in a stadium show he does an amazing job every time. I'm happy Randy got this opportunity as the last competitor announced.

Speaking of stadium shows, it's kind of funny that this will be Man Of Steel's first ever stadium show after having all arena shows this 1st quarter.

  17. I honestly think the last competitor for the main World Finals lineup should be Mike Harper in Outlaw. He has had some outstanding freestyle runs during this 1st quarter. I thought he would be in the Young Guns Shootout but he apparently isn't. So hopefully FELD can squeeze in 1 more independent into the main World Finals lineup.

  18. Ok why is steve kohler in young guns?

The truck is literally older than i am, he's been driving for at least five years and he's been in the encore of the finals. I like that he's in the finals at all, but don't call it young guns if it's young guns and oh by the way someone who's been racing for eight years and a truck older than half our audience shootout

The way it works is that it's for drivers who have little to no experience performing at Sam Boyd Stadium on that race course. It's not about how old you are or how long you have been driving for.
