Well those that know me, I like to share projects and other things that I end up either surprising myself with, or just plain love doing. So last year in April I went to school for Automotive and Chassis Fab. Auto was ok made it through without to much trouble. Chassis Fab has been plain awesome, learned a lot more about welding than I knew and learned tig welding something I have wanted to learn for quite sometime. Also learned how easy it is to notch tubing without having a notcher to use. And how to take measurements to make a full chassis to fit a certain tire in the rear, and what ever else is needed. Also learned how to get bend points for a roll bar. So you can say I am quite proud of myself. And just to share these. 5 Point Thin Wall. Tig welded. All measurement had to be within a 16th of a inch. if you where off to much you got the awesomeness of redoing. This is where things get more precise. This is the mock frame rail. Everything gets made from scratch. Needs to be 4" long, and 1 1/2" wide if it is not the 1 1/2" you get to redo it. Not finished with this as it needs to have a hole drill in a certain location in which you can only be a 16th off, and need to have a sleeve tig welded in place. Then you get to cut it in half. Mig weld with a backing on one side, and tig weld without backing on the other. Plus you have to finish your welds as i have started to do here.

Always trying to think of something new and different. I'll be honest I am winging it with this idea it will probably change more times that ever. Going with the idea of combining rc to real monster again.

Tried the driver idea awhile back, did not like how it came out was just a bad model. EDIT: Found a picture of it. Boy is that a old old truck to.

Yea I made those when I was kinda a noob, so they are kinda a bad model. Been wanting to remake it just been kinda lazy.

The racing track will probably stay the same. But as for freestyle as long as they do not cluster up the place I will be fine. When you put to much stuff on the floor you get early ending freestyles since there is not enough room for the truck to settle after jumping, and then bam next ramp is in front of you and over you go. I really can not say what i want to see on the track. Not really sure what else they could come up with for obstacles.

Much rather see so cal than all this Chicago style racing.

Ah gotcha, i do agree on the landing on the truck part. Lockers... I'll say i like them, helps in certain areas. Kinda like Ryan's run from orlando, he does not have lockers so his front never really pulled him back until the wheel that was spinning touched again. He had to rely on the bounce and gravity alittle more than the trucks power.

Just want to ask this, PC are you saying that having lockers makes it not a save or just the fact that he landed on someone else's truck.

Sadly the very basic fan, only has one favorite truck and that pretty much is digger, max d, or another appealing truck and that is all they want to see is that truck win or get destroyed. Heck I recall people leaving the event I go to when Digger lost in the semis to El toro. So I am sure that people travel to Vegas with the intent to only see one truck and that is it. So in away it is a business move to have the better trucks go last, keeps the fans in the stands, for the whole show. And pretty much what was mention above, once you see a amazing run. The next run better match that or it is just boring.

For you viewing pleasure 1941 willys coupe work in progress. Not sure if this will be a mud truck or monster truck who knows. But have not seen someone do one of these bad boys up. Not a super accurate body but gives you the feel.

Hmm strange i have always made the jumps and the floor one, was just easy to me that way. But to each his own.

So that cross thread where you jump over the carpad on AME kinda ended with landing on the garbage truck, literally stuck like this could not move.

eh now that i see the real deal, still not digging it. Just doesn't look good to me. I know that zombies are not supposed to look good, but there is something called appeal, and this truck doesn't appeal to me.

Made some updates to the body, had to widen it plus rearrange the mesh alittle. Not perfect might remake is sometime down the road but it works for what it is now.

demko the hotsy truck is a 3rd truck. They are a 3 truck team now.
