  1. Ladies and Gentlemen, I'm pleased to announce that the International Dragging Series is going to be hosting a special event at San Marco Arena in sunny San Marco, California this coming Sunday night (12/23/12) at 8:00pm EST. For all the details, please continue reading! - Sign-ups will open immediately. Fill out the form below to sign-up. - Qualifying opens Wednesday (12/19/12) at 7:00pm EST and runs until Saturday night (12/22/12) at 11:00pm EST! - Track link: http://sim-monsters.com/index.php?/files/file/546-sanmarcoarena2ndstop/ - Field will be top 12 qualifiers. Now, let's move on to the boring part... The rules for the event. Because I am a more old school event director, I do things a certain way, and I would like to continue doing things this way. Here is an overview of the rules for the event (yes, they are lengthy, but I want it all laid out so there's no questions): Global Penalties: - Flipping results in a loss of lane choice at any time, and disqualifies you from Fast Loser contention. - Flipping AFTER the finish follows the same penalty as above, but your time still counts. - Flipping BEFORE the finish is a DNF. - Hitting a turning car is not a penalty, as you suffer your own consequences for doing it. - One-tiring a ramp is a +5 second penalty. - Hitting a pole is a +5 second penalty. - Missing a ramp is a DNF. Qualifying: - Server will be setup Wednesday (12/19/12) at 7:00pm EST and will stay up until Saturday (12/22/12) at 11:00pm EST. This gives you 76 hours to qualify. - You must contact one of the following members on AIM to qualify: runt9ab, mtm2dominator, hotshoemtracing as all 3 are IDS officials. - You will get two runs. You may do one in each lane or two in the same lane. Your times will be averaged together (DNF will count as 99.99) to get your official time. - All qualifying results will be kept PRIVATE until qualifying closes. You will know who made the event when the brackets are posted Saturday night. Event Night (Sunday 12/23/12): - AIM chat will start at 7:30pm EST. - Brackets lock at 8:00pm EST. If you are not in the chat room at that time, or have not made prior arrangements to be late, you will not be allowed to compete and the next person in line on the qualifying list that is online at that moment will take your spot. - Driver's meeting will start at 8:15pm EST. When this meeting starts, the chat is to be 100% quiet except for your event director and officials (Alex Vester - runt9ab, Robbie Milburn - mtm2dominator, and David Stewert - hotshoemtracing). Anyone who interrupts without a pertinent question will be warned once. Another offense is an immediate ejection. We need to make it through this meeting smoothly so we can start on time, so I will NOT tolerate any horsing around during this meeting. Before and after is fine, however. - Server will be started at 8:30pm EST and first 4 competitors will be called in-game. Our event director and at least one official will be in-game at all times. - The in-game official(s) will be posting live updates in chat for people to keep up with. We will not be using Teamspeak or any doing any live streaming for this particular event. Racing: - We will proceed with 4 competitors at a time throughout the remainder of racing. - There will be 1 fast loser on each side of the bracket after round 1, so we will be timing every single racing run. Even if you are losing, push to get a good time because you might just get a second chance. See penalties for more information on timing. - Lane choice will also be factored by racing times, not by qualifying times. - Fast losers will not be eligible for lane choice. The exception is if the two fast losers meet in the finals: then it will be decided based on previous round time. We hope to be done with racing by 10:00pm EST at the latest. We will have a 15 minute intermission after racing Freestyle: - Order will be determined by racing brackets. People who lost in the same round will be sorted by qualifying times. This means the racing champion goes last in freestyle. - I hope to call 4 competitors in-game at a time, preferably with 2 IDS officials already in-game. - Time will consist of 90 seconds with a 15 second grace period and 30 seconds of bonus time. Since that might be confusing, I will elaborate: 1. If you roll or have a hard wall hit once during the first 15 seconds, you may reset at no penalty and continue your run. 2. The normal run will be 90 seconds scored 1-10 by 3 judges. More on the judging later. 3. If you make it through the full 90 seconds, you go into bonus time. This time is scored separately by a 4th judge from 1-5. This makes the maximum freestyle score a 35. - Judges will be picked under the following criteria: 1. There will be at least one IDS official judging. 2. The remaining judges will be picked from the racers in-game. 3. The freestyle leader cannot judge a run. - RII will be pulled if you roll your truck or hit a wall hard at any time. If it's the first time during grace period or it was a light roll/wall hit, you will be refired to continue. - Failure to listen to RII commands will result in a score of 0. The ultimate goal is to finish the entire event by 11:30pm EST. I understand this may be a bit late for a Sunday evening, but I would not be surprised for us to finish early, and the next day is Christmas Eve, and I know many of you do not have school or work that day. Sportsmanship: - As an event director, I have seen very poor sportsmanship over the years in MTM2. I am sure that it still exists in this game, as it does in any sport. I do not, in any way, shape, or fashion tolerate poor sportsmanship. Joking around in chat, poking fun at people, and other things along those lines are fine. However, if you begin disrespecting IDS officials or your fellow racers in a problematic way, you are subject to immediate removal from the event at the discretion of myself or another IDS official. If you don't know if you are being a poor sport or not, please err on the side of caution and just stop what you are doing. If myself or another official receive personal complains from other members, we will evaluate the situation and act accordingly. If you have a problem with this policy, feel free to not sign-up for this race. So, now that we have all of that out of the way, let's go ahead and sign-up shall we? Just fill out the following information and post it below! If your truck is not in the V4 pack, please state so in your post. Thanks! 2. Just thought I'd let everyone know about the current situation. I've been going through some rough times IRL. Though I try not to let it affect me, I've been spending a lot of time talking to friends and working through some issues. This is making it harder for me to fill requests in a timely manner. I also thought I'd let everyone know what the current list looks like so you know how many people you're behind. Another thing to note is that I am working on designing a web site from scratch for a special project, and I still work a 40-hour week. Those of you who want your truck done before Outlaws starts, I understand, but it's going to be nigh impossible to fill all of these before then. I love making trucks for people. It's fun. Just remember that I have a life, a job, and other personal projects I want to work on. Please do not expect these to be done overnight the instant you send a pm. Anyways, here's the current list. I will update this as I go: 1. I am a sim monster 2. Obsession Racing 3. Spidermanmonstertruck5 4. DDT 5. Glen Milburn 6. JR Seasock 7. BigfootFanTV 8. Brad Shaw Right now, the current list looks like it'll take about 3-4 weeks to complete. Please keep that in mind as you send in requests. Thanks, Alex "runt9" Vester

  5. I obviously made it for you, Markle Sparkle!
  6. This Kevin Payne? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Payne_(American_football)
  7. While I completely appreciate the offer, almost all of the modeling is already completed. If you would like to go ahead and make a set, you're welcome to, but I'm not sure I'd end up using them for my own project. If you wanted to do it anyways, be my guest. I'd love to see what you come up with regardless
  8. Oh lord, having TC back would be more hilarious than what this board could handle, haha.
  9. Oh look! A wild KPayne appears! Good to see you again, Kevin. I think it'd be great to have you around, too.
  10. Unfortunately looks like I won't be making it tonight, so I'll go ahead and withdraw my sign-up. You kids have fun!

  12. Thanks Brian. Good to see a fellow Brony around these parts. Pretty much. A lot of concepts have gone through my mind, and people also want a lot of trucks, so I'm knocking these out. Truck making is also much easier in this game than in MTM2. Sounds about right. Better than the crap they're coming up with... I will undoubtedly do a Pinkie Pie one, and probably a Celestia one eventually... It seems like without wings seems to be the way to go based on the votes here. I'll keep the model around just in case I change my mind. Thanks, guys!
  13. Need opinions guys... With or without wings? With wings: Without wings: And before you bash me about being a Brony, please understand that has nothing to do with you. I wanted to take a break from requests to start on this little project, and I just want opinions on what looks better. I'll be asking moderators to delete any negative posts about my preference in what shows I watch. Thanks.
  14. INB4 "wen do sinups opn????" Looking forward to it if I can make it. Sounds like loads of fun, Josh. EDIT: Ninja'd:
  15. Yup, no problem Robbie. Glad that fixed the problem cause I would have no earthly clue where to look next. Thanks again Stephen.
  16. Thanks Stephen. I swore I changed the mapped image when I was editing the mesh, but I guess not. I'll get that fixed and reuploaded.
  17. The strange thing is, it works fine on my local system, and I obviously have both trucks installed. I also have not heard anyone else have an issue with it... It's strange.
  18. Well, it's nice to see that there are still some humble people left around here. Great work David and JR.

  21. I guess I missed a party earlier... Thanks Sean. Guys, if you're going to take the time to PM me, please at least fill out the form. I had one person do it correct and 2 people do it wrong. I won't even respond to you if you don't properly fill out the form because if you didn't take the time to read my post, I'm not going to take the time to reply to your PM. Thanks.
  22. Guys, I really want to thank all of you for the kind words and enthusiasm for the trucks I've made. Believe me, I still plan on making many more. I know a lot of you out there would like your very own custom truck that fits you like a glove, like I have already made for myself and Robbie Milburn. However, I have already received a number of private requests asking for certain trucks to be built. I have no problem making them, in fact it's my pleasure to make them for you. However, you must keep in mind that I work a 40 hour week and generally do not spend my weekends at home in front of the computer anymore. I will try to get to everyone's request in due time, but I'd like to make this a little more formal so that I have more information up front and can get to your truck when I have the available time. So without further ado, I am officially accepting private truck requests. Here are my standards on what I can/cannot do at this time: Will not do: 1. I will not do replicas. I do not have the attention to detail in painting to make accurate replicas. I will only create custom trucks. 2. I will not do any custom body work. You get to pick a body from a truck that already exists, and I will paint it for you. Cannot do: 1. Fancy custom paint jobs. I'm talking you want the Sistine Chapel on your truck. I can do flames, I can do awesome text, I can do some blending, but if I don't think I can handle your paint job, I will tell you up front before getting your hopes up. 2. New tires/engine models. I just don't have the modeling skills yet. I will learn eventually though. Can do: 1. Custom chassis work. If you have a design in mind, I can build it from scratch. If you want a slight modification to something that's already there, cool, I got it. Just expect this to take a little more time, of course, since creating a full chassis from scratch is probably about 6-8 hours of straight work. 2. Recolor any part of the the vehicle. If you want the shocks and drive shaft to be a different color, cool, let's do it. 3. Make custom shocks. I do have the modeling skills to pull this off. Just expect it to take a while because it's about 4 hours to make them and another 3-4 to texture them. So, before you go PMing me with "cn u mk dis trk 4 me plzplzplz!", think about the guidelines above, and please follow the form below: Here's what I need in a PM: Truck Name: Chassis style (if custom, please provide picture/data): Body style: Tire style (specify beadlocks or no beadlocks as well): Other custom work: Paint Job (please have picture or definitive concept): And that's it! I'll put you on the list and you will be notified when your truck has been brought into the facility for work. You will have a rough estimate of completion time upon sending me the PM as well as when I begin work on it.
  23. I'm just gonna leave this here...
