  1. You wanted the best, and you're gonna get them 4 abreast; but I'm not talking about sprint cars...

    spacer.png

May 4th every year is usually big holiday in pop culture, as fans of Star Wars across the globe celebrate "May The 4th Be With You". But this year there's a little something extra going down, and it's a first of it's kinda event in the history of virtual monster truck competition. For the 4th installment of More Bounce 2 The Ounce, we're taking the leafers 4 wide inside another historic venue for monster trucks; the Caesar's Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana!

Now irl we have seen the monsters go 3 wide a few times over the last few decades, with the first time taking place in Dallas, Texas back in 1990; though the event was overshadowed by the controversial banning of Bigfoot #8. But we've never seen monsters irl go 4 wide, mainly because there's not very many facilities big enough to allow it. One that could however is the Superdome in New Orleans, so when we decided to make this happen we knew exactly where it needed to take place. Also, because this is a first of it's kinda event, we knew we had to go for the gusto and make it as big as possible. So not only will there be 4 wide drags (which is the main event of the evening), there will also be a time trials comp and head to head obstacle course racing. And to top all of that off, we've assembled the biggest field in MB2TO history; 16 trucks to be exact, full of names that are intertwined in the history of the sport.

So with all that being said, here's everything you need to know.

    Event Details:
    Event Date - Saturday, May 4th, 2024
    Driver's Meeting - 8:00pm eastern
Start Time - 8:30 pm eastern

Sign-Ups open on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024 at 10pm eastern and are first come, first served.
There will be 15 spots up for grabs, once all 15 are claimed any sign ups posted afterwards will go into the fill in pool.
Your sign up will only guarantee you a spot in the show, as trucks will be assigned at random.
Also, if you take a spot knowing full well you won't be able to compete (aka gatekeeping), you will be suspended from participation in KOTH events indefinitely.

You must be present in the KOTH voice chat at the start of the drivers meeting, failure to do so will result in you being replaced with an alternate.
If you're gonna be late, let us know in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate you.

This will be a 1 night points championship consisting of 3 competitions: Single Truck Time Trials, Side By Side Obstacle Course Racing, and 4 Wide Drag Racing.
The order for time trials and the brackets for the other comps will be set at random.
Competitors will score points in each event based off of where they finish, and the driver with the highest combined total points will be crowned King Of The Hill at the end of the night.

Other specific rules will be gone over during the driver's meeting.

You are not allowed to make any changes to the trucks or track provided without approval from a KOTH official, if you're caught doing so you will be suspended from KOTH participation indefinitely.

  5. We're back for round 3, and this time we go back to where it all began and renew the rivalry between the 2 most legendary names in the business.

    spacer.png

Well, it would seem that the leafers have started to catch on with the community. So with that being the case, why not keep things rolling right along?

This time around, I figured it was time to go to the most historic facility in the history of monster trucks. While it maybe be gone now, the Pontiac Silverdome will always be looked at as hallowed ground for these monstrous mechanical marvels. From the moment that Bigfoot II drove on top of those cars back in February of 1982, to all of the incredible events that took place there over the years, to being the last thing to happen in the building when it initially closed, to being the first thing back inside the building when it reopened for it's brief revival, the history of monster trucks and the Silverdome will be forever intertwined. So I feel it's only fitting we bring King Of The Hill here with one of the more iconic courses in the history of the Silverdome, with a 10 truck field of the best period correct trucks.

At the center of this is renewing the long standing feud between the 2 most iconic trucks in the history of the sport: the truck that started it all, the king of the monsters Bigfoot and one of the trucks to first dent it's seemingly indestructible armor, the black and green wrecking machine known as the Grave Digger. But along with that, since we're just outside of Detroit, this will also be a battle of the 2 biggest home grown auto makers in USA; the blue oval goes head to head with the bow tie, it's Ford vs Chevy.

Setup for the show is nearly the same as the first 2, so let me go over the details below.

    Event Details:
    Event Date - Sunday, December 31st, 2023
    Driver's Meeting - 8:00pm eastern

This will be a 1 night points championship consisting of 3 competitions: Single Truck Time Trials, Side By Side Drag Racing, and Head To Head U-Turn Course Racing.
The finishing order of the time trials will set the the bracket for the side by side drags, but the bracket for the u-turn course racing comp will be set with a qualifying session at the start of the night.
Competitors will score points in each event based off of where they finish, and the driver with the highest combined total points will be crowned King Of The Hill at the end of the night.

  6. Y'all wanted more? You got it! But this time these old war horses will get to really stretch their legs...

The first ever More Bounce 2 The Ounce was a big success, and folks were wondering when the next one would go down. Well since MJL and SCS wrapped up, SPS is about to finish up, and MTP doesn't start until late October, I figured we could get a few more in. First up, we're taking a trip down to the Sunshine State to the home of swamp buggies and the sippy hole, Florida Sports Park in Naples!

This track has a long history with irl monsters dating back to the early 90's, and there's been a fair number of virtual events held here; the most recent being last season of MTP. As a matter of fact, this is the very same layout MTP ran on. The race course is a throwback to the Penda days, so these leafers will definitely get pushed to their limits.

Setup for the show is the same as the first, but we'll still go over the details below.

Toughest project I've done to date, but it helped push my blender skills to another level.

For those wondering, this is the chassis that originally started out as Mega Merc and has run a multitude of names since. This is as close to what it looks like current day as I can get, not enough pics of it sans body to get it 100% accurate but it's good enough.

  9. In the famous words of Diamond Head: "Am I evil? Yes I am!"

    spacer.png

King Of The Hill returns after taking a hiatus last year (more on that below and later in other posts), and this one is bound to be wild!

So what is going on here exactly? Well, just about the craziest combo of a track and field of trucks I could possibly think of, and it started as a joke tbh. I, along with other members of the community, were discussing possible ideas for KOTH events last year and lots of great suggestions were made; including the first ever mega truck KOTH event. During the course of that discussion however, I had an idea that would put any of Jimmy Neutron's brain blasts to shame. One of the tracks that was released around the time of this discussion was based inside the home of the Tournament of Kings, a highly popular Middle Ages themed dinner and show experience at the Excalibur Hotel in Las Vegas. The arena is plenty big enough for it's normal use, but when you bring in the monsters it quickly becomes quite cramped. Modern stage 3 tube chassis trucks can handle it decently enough, but it's still far from easy; but I had a devious idea. What if we had an event on that track with their predecessors, stage 2 competition leafers?

Sounds like a recipe for a glorious and entertaining disaster right?

I was hesitant to mention the idea at first because leafer trucks can be a divisive topic among folks around here, but I figured why not put the idea out into the ether and see if anyone was interested. To my surprise a lot of people were, so I locked it into the schedule. Now this was around March of last year (2022) and the plan (and the KOTH schedule for last year as whole) was never set in motion, mainly due to the revival of RoR MT Pro; but there was also the issue of not having enough quality leafers available to use. But that issue has been rectified thanks to @WorpeX with the release of his LF 4 trucks, and since MTP is in it's offseason, I think it's time we get down to business!

So here's everything you need to know:

    Event Date - Sunday, June 4th, 2023.
