  1. I'm reading about BeamNG monsters for the first time right now. I remember trying this software when it was very new (and free, or am I thinking of something else?). So are these trucks made from RoR parts? And are there any improvements over RoR that make a BeamNG switch worth considering?

  2. I agree. I probably shouldn't respond in this thread so I'll keep it short, but I think that within the MT industry they have a reputation for not being durable, and they are not made in the US (none of the other companies are 100% American anyway); and they are mandatory in Monster Jam. They are probably made thinly which decreases durability, which *should* mean they weigh less; but at the same time trucks could easily adapt with modern technology and be made a lot lighter (which would mean the lighter tires would work just fine). I think people here dislike the logos. Just my observation.

If you look at the toy, it seems like the paint shifts to a much darker green causing a lot more contrast between the green and the white graphics. I suggest darkening one of the spec files (if you are trying to accurately replicate the toy). But otherwise, I think this is cool. I like it much more than any Grave Digger livery post-GD12 when the purple was added.

Yeah I tried my best to put all the logos and such just couldn't find them.  Also with the chromalusion paint, I have no idea how to paint that well yet, although I would love to try it.

If you make all three spec maps different colors (in the blue area; one dark blue, one dark green, one dark purple), I think something close to the actual ChromaLusion paint could be achieved.

Most likely just this blue one unless I can get some good ref pics?

Now that I look at this truck again, there were many versions with slight variations with different Bigfoot logos (as they were hand-painted). As far as I can see, these are the main two that were used:

Version 1 (yours) -- it wasn't long after the debut that the front bumper became solid blue. In the second photo you can see the true color:

Version 2 -- ChromaLusion paint that shifted from blue, to green, to purple. Standing still, the blue was the same dark metallic blue-green as the non-shifting paint. Had a solid blue front bumper:

Well, Jack and I are almost done this. Now to try and make the damn steering....

Very cool! I remember seeing this truck in person a few times, the blue was a bit different than regular Bigfoot blue -- blue-green and metallic, and somewhat darker. Are you going to make the DuPont ChromaLusion version as well with the color-changing paint?

    Suggestion?

The only suggestion I can think of is to change the axles, and you might need to make new ones because I'm not sure these have been made. Bigfoot only uses ZF axles where the steering components are on the opposite side, it's a much more minimal design than what any other truck uses. I use this style of axle for my electric solid-axle trucks, the TITAN truck in the beta pack I released has a very similar axle -- you could try modifying that and using the prop coordinates to get a start (I can also send it to you).

I have many more photos if you need them:

The quality of these topics is really declining.

I agree. While I think it is nice that there are new people learning how to build and everyone has to start somewhere, updates do not need to be posted every time a prop is moved .000000087". Some need to learn to take constructive criticism, and should consider taking advice more often to improve the quality of their projects. These threads have become Start Your Arguments rather than Show Your Projects.

Go ingame, go to where you want the spawn and hit H and then leave game, then go to logs and open the RoR log. Somewhere near the bottom should be the coordinates of where your character was ingame. Copy those coordinates and use them for the spawn point in the .terrn

You've got to be kidding me... It's that easy? :o

  10. I play electric guitar, although I've recently gotten rid of most of my equipment. I've mostly always built my own guitars (or heavily modified existing ones, rather). This is the only one I have left, it's mostly made of aluminum:

  11. This is an electric motor/inverter, single-speed gearbox, and digital steer-by-wireless unit in one modular carbon fiber housing. It also acts as a structural part of the chassis (two of these per chassis, front and rear). It looks a bit rough because I just imported this into Blender, so it hasn't been smoothed yet.

100% Hand-Painted logo.  It isn't perfect but this is literally my first time trying this.  Couple touch ups to do but I present "Bigfoot 2000"

Special thanks goes to Chad for helping with the flames.

Nice! I was about to send a message to you regarding the logo, I was going to take a crack at hand-painting it too! BTW, I *think* the logo was outlined in black. Also, I think the wheel wells need to be re-shaped a bit.

Using Firefox because Chrome took a massive sht after I updated my PC (it's slow asf now) and Internet Explorer and Edge are BS. Firefox is the only browser that's legit and runs good on Adblock.

Off-topic but Vivaldi owns them all, give it a shot. It's a modern-take on the old Opera browser pre-Chromium switch. I just switched from Cyberfox (Firefox alt) because it's become too unreliable and slow. Edge would be best if it had more extensions and settings (will eventually) because it's so much faster and uses less power than anything else.

  14. Very early stage 4 mockup. Isoframe with super-steel outer rails, and carbon fiber inner. Fully enclosed carbon fiber Dakar-style c*ckpit with gullwing doors (that could be unhinged from the sides in the case of a dangerous rollover). The carbon fiber c*ckpit and battery case are a part of the frame structure to save weight. I think this would probably end up being around 5,500 pounds, which means less power would be needed, and of course less battery power/smaller battery.

Amazing Render! If you made it in Blender, you should post a tutorial on how you made it  Fantastic!

Thanks! It's my first render. I did make it in Blender, although I used 2.76b because none of this seemed possible in 2.49b. When I learn a bit more, maybe I'll make a tutorial. But for now if you have any specific questions, PM me and maybe I'll be able to help (I don't know much though)

Speaking of the newest Blender, does anyone know if there are any OGRE/RoR tools for it? It's way nicer than 2.49b.
