  1. This might be old news but Donald Ep. should be getting a new PEI. I went to Dan's Open House and it looks like JR McNeal is getting a new PEI and I believe Donald should be. Alright, back to schedules for 2015. Looks like Dan Evans might not be driving for 2015, as Houston #1 has BJ slated to drive Rod Ryan. Also it looks like Todd will be partnering with BJ. Anyone have a list of traveling partners for 2015 or are they trashing that? There's also not a Max-D at Houston #1 and Chuck is driving El Toro.

Here, I'll get it started (Note half of this will most likely be wrong):

Mohawk Warrior (BJ) with Metal Mulisha

Grave Digger (Huffaker) with Backward's Bob

Grave Digger (Randy) with Carolina Crusher

    Northern Nightmare with Dalmation (Laskey)

    Madusa with Zombie (Mussawir)

Grave Digger (Pauken) with Monster Mutt (Dustin)

Also notice MJ has a clearance offer on all Marvel puff trucks,

  2. Updates for our team and changes for monster jam in 2015

*4 new sets of tires with two spares (18 overall)

*8 completely rebuilt and stronger differentials

*Obsessed will be running a Detroit in front and back

*Replaced the front housing on Obsessed

    *Replaced all spindles with Ouverson's

*Beadlocks should be on both trucks this year

In case you couldn't tell, we are stepping up our game this year for Monster Jam  ;)

Are you guys running the off-road body for Obsessed this year?

    EDIT:

Sorry for the double post. Sometimes computers don't like me.

  3. Did you even bother to read what Dan wrote?

Yes I did. Sorry for the misunderstanding there on my part.

  4. Just found out the truck lineup for Nationwide Arena through their website

    Grave Digger

    Zombie

    Hot Wheels

    Dalmation

    El Toro Loco

    Mohawk Warrior

    War Wagon

    Stinger

Probably the best lineup the Nationwide arena has ever had

I agree. I remember when they had 8 trucks in Columbus in 2012. I didn't go but I figured that the arena only held 6 trucks because that's all Freestyle Mania had.

Colton Eichelberger is driving Grave Digger #25, and Randy Brown is driving Grave Digger #29. Here's an updated list of Digger drivers/trucks just so everyone knows...

Grave Digger #23 - Carl Van Horn

Grave Digger #24 - Chad Tingler

Grave Digger #25 - Colton Eichelberger

Grave Digger #26 - Jon Zimmer

Grave Digger #27 - Charlie Pauken

Grave Digger #28 - Pablo Huffaker

Grave Digger #29 - Randy Brown

Grave Digger #30 - Dennis Anderson

I still have to get in contact with Gary Porter about what his plans are for 2015, but as far as I know, he's not driving a Grave Digger for 2015. And I know for a fact that Whit Tarlton won't be driving Monster Mutt for 2015, either.

Well, as it is with some other promoters, they would only look for the trucks that are more profitable or more popular on a team. Maybe they will eventually announce Park Patrol running with them, but if they only have one announced, then more than likely they're just sticking with Quad Chaos for the sake of popularity. Plus, it's cheaper on the promoter and team to travel with just one truck. Saves them some major MPGs.

Disappointing to see Whit leaving the Mutt. Although it has been a while since that truck has been in a major stadium. I'd like to see Gary Porter race in a few stadiums. Hopefully he's still driving Digger.

  5. Are you sure it's Randy's Truck and not Colton's Truck for #MOREMONSTERJAM? I know #19 has been around for ages, but Colton's Needs a New Grave Digger...

Anyway, I found a video of #29 on Travel Tires: http://instagram.com/p/uwgHHqhXnh/

Colton is most likely getting the new one. They gave CVH a "spanking new truck" when he came back to GD. Randy doesn't need a new one in my opinion. However with Colton running more of the arena shows that Randy usually attends, they might give him a new one cause I don't know if 19 will be able to handle the way Randy drives in a stadium.

  6. Dont know if this is new but apparently feld doesn't let Ryan Anderson run his mud truck anymore, so Ryan gave it to Weston Anderson

Kid better enjoy it while he has it. Dennis isn't allowed by FELD to run his so I've heard. FELD will most likely do anything to get this kid drivin for them. He isn't afraid to step on the gas though. I am anxious to see how he drives a monster truck.

  7. Which era do you prefer?:
    2007-2010
    Why?:
The tracks weren't overdone, and the only back flips were either an encore or something actually amazing (Cam McQueen's back flip in Jacksonville was cool until FELD put the back flip jump into the track). Speed was had different set-ups for MJ each year. It could also just be the fact of me watching MJ during those seasons. I think the first time I watched MJ on a TV was the 2007 World Finals. And the blue tarp. I liked the blue tarp, not the red and yellow and purple.
What good do you think will happen in the future?:
    More safety and innovation.

    Any worries about the future?

Insane tracks that are overdone. I don't think back flip jumps are necessary. And an incident where many people are killed. We saw what happened in the course of a year, more than 10 spectators died because of a truck.

  8.

The only problem is the 2-door design of the vehicle, as it wouldn't be long enough to fit a monster truck chassis, so the body might need to be stretched out a bit to fit.

This might not look good, but why don't you give it a shorter wheelbase like Rockstar. Just a suggestion if you don't want to stretch it out.

  9. Found this pic on my old computer, it's from 2006, it was a little unofficial i don't know where those are from, but it's monster trucks.... we only have 1 pic since battery died at that pic... yay...

    15405563092_747372a741_b.jpg

     Uhh few things with this:

    1) How is this relevant to anything on this thread?

    2) Is it just the picture angle, or is the body 20 years old, because that's how old it looks.

Here found a video on Youtube of the truck:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbllGD0Y4OI

    1) So apparently there's SOME safety issues with those trucks crushing cars up way to close to the 4 ft portable fence which will stop anything....

    2) There's a lot of foreign trucks running around the world.

    3) That Supertruck truck is well and running in 2013. Chassis looks the same as it did in Coconutmen's picture, and if you look closely enough, you'll notice how it's not a fiberglass body, it looks like separate pieces pulled from a pick-up truck. The door handles give it away. And some of those chassis's look pretty dated.

  10. I have a few (and surprisingly I don't exactly like NASCAR but I still collect some of the cars...) So, here's a list:

    1:64 Scale:

Tony Stewart Bass Pro Shops- 2013 or 2014

    Menards- 2010?

Catepillar (Right, the construction guys?) Uhh whenever David Green drove.

I also have a few smaller ones:

    Lowe's

    Nation Gaurd

  11. I like how thattruckguy just restates the obvious and what other people have already commented. Also, formerly Extreme Overkill. Irony much?

I restate things already said in case someone didn't feel like reading through the whole thread. If it bothers you then just ignore it or don't look at this thread and please don't bother me when I do restate things. Again, I restate things because some people might not catch on to previous things said.

    A few things here:

-Yes, Extreme Overkill had a fully functional RII system in place before being shipped off to Europe. And from a few pictures I've seen, it still had the RII system in place on the truck itself, but the RII system on the truck is useless without someone that knows how to operate a RII remote fully standing by watching every move that truck made.

-Safety was next to nothing. I've seen quite a few events where there was only a 3 to 4 foot tall portable fence as the only protection, but that was in an area with space. If an event promoter is going to use a fence like that, there should be a lot more space around the performance area. Regardless, a crowd should never be that close to a monster truck running over cars. It's okay if they're that close to a monster truck when it starts up and moves on idle, but when it's running over cars, that's a BIG no-no.

-The MTRA has done a lot for the industry in terms of setting strict safety guidelines, and I commend everyone who had a hand in developing this organization as well as everyone who continues to run and support this organization to this day.

Despite everyone getting their panties in a bunch over this incident and the keyboard warriors sparking an argument on Facebook over this (apparently), we just all need to remember that three people passed away because of something that could have easily been prevented. My thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences go out to the victims and their families.

Same here. Just look at Mexico- not only the accident last year but even at some of their rodeos which only contain those portable fences. Lots of people get hurt from bulls. I know that lots of companies use RII's, but these small foreign shows where they're not required is started to scare me a bit. The last thing we need is a large group being killed instead of 3 or 7. Then again, you have to consider that monster trucks are only 32 years old, and how long was it before cars had seat belts? More than 32 years. So safety is still a HUGE concern and the largest place of improvement with monster truck racing as a whole (not just FELD, but every promoter who runs shows). Thanks for your helpful insight with these trucks.

  12. dumb people don't know how to use rii

even if the throttle stuck or whatever the rii would still stop the truck or at least slow it don't from the vid it looked like it was going full throttle

They might not have been able to afford RIIs. But the truck itself probably had one considering it was the old Extreme Overkill truck. But then again they might not have known how to use them.

  13. Few Things About This:

    1. I had no idea that there is a MTRA (Monster Truck Racing Association Right?)
    2. This most likely isn't an official show
    3. MTRA sounds like its American, and doesn't do anything outside our boarders (I'm Most Likely Wrong About This)
    4. Bob Chandler being president? I don't think so

Yep, I'm a Total Noob with this post

Yes, MTRA does stand for Monster Truck racing Association. They began in 1987, and, sadly, in my opinion, aren't a huge force in monster truck racing. They are still around, and they run the Hall of Fame banquet and all that good stuff. I agree with it not being an official show, however, I read that it is an annual event in the city it took place in. Uhh MTRA probably does operate a little bit outside of the US, most likely only in Europe, if anything. Bob Chandler might or might not be the president, if not, he seems like he would be. Here's a link to their site: http://mtra.us/

  14. the problem is that many people don't have common sense. Yea lets put a 4 foot railing up, that way the crowd doesn't get hurt from a 5 ton monster truck. These little shows piss me off.

I have to agree with you. The MTRA should have a set of representatives from different countries that inspect these shows. They need stricter guidelines and they need to find a way to control FELD. Alright, back on track. If the MTRA could inspect these shows they could prevent death and injury. How many people have died because of a foreign, independently ran show in the past year? Let's see, 50+ in Mexico and 20+ in the Netherlands. The problem is that this is preventable and no one will step up and fix it. Who's the president of the MTRA? Bob Chandler? We should write a letter about this problem.

Marty Garza was the creator, and Marty certainly wasn't associated with the incident. Once the truck was sold off in around 2004 (ran Thunder Nationals in 2002) it was the new owner's responsibility.

Same with Fly-N-Hi, once it was sold the original creator had zero involvement whatsoever.

I never said Marty was responsible for the accident. I meant to say that the owner could of changed between when Marty sold it and when the accident occurred,

  15. Well Cannon told me, but with the design of that chassis it's pretty obvious.

    overkill.jpg

    205.jpg

Ya you can REALLY tell the similarity. Notice how the shocks are so low and 'offset' I guess I could say. Do we have any idea who was driving? I know it obviously wasn't Marty what's-his-last-name. Eurol must be a lubricant.

I can say this: possibly wasn't his first time. Definitely wasn't the truck's first showing either:

Apparently the truck has also ran as:

    65.jpg

Couple of things to note: 1) Has the Eurol logo. 2)HAs an American flag. 3)Notice the USHRA logo, so it was most likely ran in America, or USHRA just went to Europe. 4) Has a Thunder Nationals logo, which I know Vaters competed in. Could well be Vater's truck at the time, considering his relationship with Marty whats-his-last-name combined with the fact that it was Marty's truck for a time. I might just be making to complicated theories, too. I'm very sure that this is the same truck that caused the accident, because it has Extreme Overkill's chassis. Possibly not the same owner, but the Eurol logo does signify that it could well be the same truck, considering the truck's name is Eurol Lubricants. Also ran as Extreme Overkill.

  16. Clearly this was a VERY low budget event. The Way Things were set up, They could not have possible afforded to use RII's.

I agree on the low budget stuff. Independently ran shows like this that happen in foreign countries are just BOUND to have something wrong happen. That's the sad realization of this. Last year's Mexico wreak really woke up a lot of people on the situation I'm sure. The only way to prevent out of control wrecks without RII's is probably going to have to dumpsters or some other form of protection. As they say, there's two sides to every story.

Another possible reason is that the driver might have realized the situation, and he got excited (not like happy excited but like like an I'm about to hit someone excited) and he accidentally gassed it instead of putting on the breaks.

  17. With What I'm Seeing, The Driver is either A) Driving the Truck for the First Time or B) Had bad intentions with the way he accelerated towards the crowd.

or C)Idiots can't figure out a stupid RII works. THEY NEED TO IMPLEMENT THESE AT FOREIGN SHOWS. SOMEONE GET THE MTRA ON THIS! Seriously this makes you appreciate FELD for at least having them. It's also the reason innocent  spectators are getting injured and killed.
