  1.  In the Netherlands this weekend, another tragic monster truck accident occurred, killing more than 2 and injuring more than 12 spectators. I'm not sure what's to come after last year's freak accident in Mexico and now this. Here's some footage I found from the internet. Watch at your own risk:

Note: As you can tell from the video, this event WAS NOT FELD ran.

  2. Ever realized that prior to WF XI they didn't have dumpsters at the end of the track? They probably realized that Captain's Curse crash in 09 wasn't the only time a truck would hit that wall going 60+ mph. If those dumpsters weren't there, I can almost definitely say that Titan would have gone into the stands. As SpongeBob would say "Thank Neptune for safety barriers"...

    EDIT

Sorry I thought that my previous post didn't go through after I clicked the back button. Well turns out it did. Sorry!

  3. Has anyone noticed that prior to World Finals XI there weren't dumpsters against the back wall? They probably realized that Captain's Curse crash wouldn't be the first time a truck slammed into that wall going 60+ mph. After that, they put dumpsters against that wall and I'm sure that Titan would have rolled into the stands. But the dumpster just stopped the truck. Is that also the reason why during Qualifying keep those stands empty? Cause the trucks are going so fast? If that's the case doesn't make much sense considering they do the same on the night of the racing championship...

  4. I got a list of people I've been wondering where they went. Joe Miller, Mike Wine, Phil Foster, Kristy Edge, Scott Anderson, Larry Jaurzel, Steve Macklin

Last I saw Kristy Edge was driving for SIR a few years back. It was maybe a year or two before Brandon reorganized the team.

  5. Hey. Whenever I go to download ROR 0.38 from sourceforge, AVG tells me that it has detected a virus in the download. I've tried downloading ROR countless times and I always get the same message. Is there any way to get a virus-free version or a way to stop it from happening (of course, I could just ignore the threat and install it, but I get worried that I'll end up breaking the computer...)? Thanks.

  6. The special Bill Payne Anniversary Edition of Identity Theft that was supposed to be for the SSRS Play-Offs, is running its one and only race tonight in the Back To School Bash. Thanks to Mark for painting it.

I love it. Something we need to see on his team.....don't worry, no one will get sued.....

  7. If so how do I move my stuff to a newer version like tracks and trucks, because I'll give .47 a try.

4.7 is pretty nice, besides a few beta errors. just keep in mind that any terrain not built for 4.0+ wont work. Trucks might work.. Again, tracks wont. However, on the ROR site, there is a Monster Jam terrain for 4.7.

  8. I wouldn't work our butts off switching to .38 or.39 when 0.47 is already in it's beta stage (only problem, off course, is that .47 has some problems, cause it's still in beta). Then again, it might not be a while till we have an alpha version of .47.0.37 doesn't like me, and I don't like it. If we are switching to something not in beta, we shouldn't switch to 0.39. Isn't there a problem with certain maps working in that? Oh well. I have played the beta versions of 4.7 and I like it. Just some problems with truck removal crashing the game.

  9. I'm just extremely thankful that the MTRA (Monster Truck Racing Association) is innovating a brake shield to cover nearly the entire brake rotor in the event it were to get hot and potentially warp and break.

I went to New Weston, and you wouldn't believe how often the truck's brake rotors were glowing, they were practically the brightest thing there. That or it just stands out more cause you're sitting up closer.

  10. Just some comments: first, when Mohawk Warrior flipped and was trying to force it back over, it scared the crap out that guy in the white shirt who was practically in front of it. Heh, even an official and a track crew member, who probably both have control over George throttling it wince and don't do anything. And, one of these days, a truck will start smoking and catch on fire-resulting in someone getting injured. Of course, the officials won't shut them down, instead they let him keep going. WHY U THROTTLE IT WHEN ITS ONE FIRE? Dang next time I'll bring my marshmallows to Monster Jam their letting so many guys throttle it out while the truck transmission or engine has overheated and is on fire. Check out this:

In my opinion, they really should have shut him down after the first hit. Isn't it risky to let a ticking time bomb just roam around free? I once read a Youtube comment. It said something like this: Monster trucks back then: truck rolls over slowly. Announcer: OH MY GOSH IS HE OKAY??!!! Monster trucks today: truck explodes and kills everybody. Announcer: and he's over! Oh well, back to saves and RIIs.

  11. Does Paul Schafer still own anything Captain USA related? The only reason I'm asking that is because to me it seems that the Groth brothers own it, but if you play the Monster Truck Destruction game on on a tablet, you'll notice how that game is split up into a couple teams: anything Bigfoot, Paul Schafer's trucks (if you go on his website, you'll also notice how he owns Wild Thang, Carolina Crusher, Monster Patrol, Rampage (used to), Boogey Van,Captain USA, and Bearfoot, all of which are playable in the game, however, he doesn't own Boogey Van, Captain USA, or Rampage), Everett Jasmer's USA-1's, Straight Up Racing, and some indys. So, how can a game get rights to use a truck from someone that doesn't even own it? And I doubt that they got the rights from the Groth brothers; if they did, they'd probably add Double Trouble (which isn't in the game, either)

  12. I think Tony just came back for Arlington in 2011 because Ryan was injured and they needed a fill-in. I too would also say no.

Tony also competed at Tacoma, El Paso, maybe Houston, Spokane and some other places. You know how drivers have a team member they compete with during the winter season? Well, Ryan Anderson and Son-Uva Digger were supposed to compete with Charles Benns and Monster Mutt Rottweiler, but since Ryan was injured for the first quarter, Tony became a "field-filler" just to fill in where Ryan was supposed to be with Charles Benns and even out the fields so anywhere Ryan was supposed to be wouldn't have an odd number of trucks, which I know FELD tries to stay away from.

Also, does anyone know exactly why Brandon Lagarde fired everyone from SIR except himself? I mean come on, he had a guy that Dennis Anderson had a hard time beating driving one his trucks, Jon Zimmer.
