[STUPID QUESTION] AIM and Discord

Here goes nothing: What is AIM and Discord? I hear alot of the guys talk about it, them being used for leagues and fun runs, but what do they do, and are they a must have? If they are a must have, can I be supplied with the links to these two applications? Thank you.

• AIM is used if a league host needs to get in contact with you for any reason. It's an IM application.
• Discord is used for the pre-event chat and to organize the competitors. It's a chat-room hosting application.
• Both of these are a must-have if you want to run ANY league on this site,
