At age 49, metal band guitarist of "Slayer" Jeff Hanneman passed away at about 11am this morning from liver failure, leads are from a spider bite infected him Necortizing Fesciitis. Unconfirmed if cause of death.

He wrote Angel of Death and Raining Blood , + more for Slayer and was an amazing guitar player.

Rest in peace Jeff, enjoy rocking with Dio

Gary Holt, his fill-in will continue to play in his honor most likely

Damn, another one gone. Godspeed Jeff. Never really listened to Slayer much myself but what I have heard kicked major ass.

On a different note, they're gonna have one hell of a kickass rock/metal band up there.

Jimmy "the Rev" Sullivan on the drums (Avenged Sevenfold)

Jeff Hanneman on the guitar (Slayer)

Kurt Cobain as the lead singer (Nirvana)

That would be a great band PC! :)

I'm PM, silly...

And don't for the singer from Warrant, Slipknot's bassist, and Dimebag from Pantera.

Dimebag loss was really tragic to the metal world. Also  KK Downing (not dead) but has left the metal world permanently and retired from Judas Priest and is now replaced.

We will miss you Metal God of Rhythm Guitars.

I'm worried for Ozzy, with his age and relapse, may prove fatal
