  1. In my mind, there really isn't much of anything the Mods can do as far as "taking action" against him. He is after all, making content, which the last time I checked (and I'm not a mod) isn't rule breaking.

However annoying it may be for some to see him continuing to ignore suggestions, issues with his projects, spam, etc., I would think that the best thing to do is to simply ignore him. He's shown that he knows more than us as far as content making, otherwise he would have taken our numerous suggestions. He hasn't, and that's up to him.

If he wants to spam SYP with sub par content, minute adjustments and unassuming posts, let him. If the Mods decide to take action in that regard, fine. If he wants to release trucks with reversed tires, fine. If he wants to release trucks with sub par texturing, textures, and detail, fine. If he doesn't want to take suggestions or accept any help, fine. We've all done our best, but he obviously doesn't want our help, so refuse to offer him any from this point on. Ya'll have done more than enough posting, and offered him many suggestions, so no one can say that we didn't try to help him.

The easy thing to do is to ignore him entirely.

When he doesn't get any upvotes, acknowledgement, downloads, etc. for his content, then maybe he'll start to listen, or start to take more time developing content instead of rushing out projects on that ill-fated and haphazard assembly line of his.

That being said: I don't mean for my words to be some sort of "call to action" to turn the entire community against one hard headed member. What I am saying is that considering all the complaints, arguments, spam, etc. that has spawned from our distaste in his content,  nothing good has come of it. It's just resulted in yet another thing that blows up out of proportion in the SYP thread. There's more unnecessary garbage listed in these threads with hardly any actual projects shown. I'm surprised people actually bother posting progress pics, as it's all drowned out with ridiculous, childish, and immature waste.

So may I suggest that we all try to move on, and move forward.

  2. If I may chime in (I mean why not, this topic has been derailed well enough...again), when I made content, I never spam posted my project with every little singular and unnoticeable detail. If you do want to consider any of my past project posts as "spam", it would have been because I posted numerous pics in a single post to highlight the often detailed, and varied additions and content present within my project. I felt it was necessary to give attention to the work and time I put in to the project by doing so.

I would also work on my project until I got it to a point where I deemed it ready for preview. Showing a half-assed, thrown together project doesn't impress. I would get everything adjusted that I could, preview my work, and continue working on it from there. Only when I made numerous adjustments, and put a lot more time in a project would I offer a preview update, which would sometimes vary in weeks or months since my last posting.

Also, making a post asking "you like?" without highlighting or describing what you have done makes it all the more difficult for anyone to appreciate what you have accomplished. As I've said before, posting progress pics without adjusting what has been pointed out comes off as you blatantly ignoring what people who are trying to help you have brought to your attention (which you willingly ignore).

Finally, if you are merely posting pics of your projects to "hope to get some recognition", then you're doing so with the wrong intentions. This is not a popularity contest. Forget about the upvotes or compliments. It's called "Show Your Projects" for a reason. Show off your work, yes, but also show off that you're actually improving and learning. Take your time, accept people's suggestions, and actually show that what they're saying isn't falling on deaf ears.

@Mark Colineri just fixed the tubing problem, fixed the air filter and other things. I try not to ignore advice for one thing, I normally try to do it my way and if it doesn't work i'll do it someone wants me to do it (hopefully I didn't sound like a butt at the end

No one wants you to do anything the way THEY want it. They are offering you help based upon their knowledge and expertise. Trying to do things "your way" is great, but when your way leads to obvious and glaring issues such as the ones listed with your current project, it's ridiculous to ignore the suggestions and issues these other members bring to your attention. They are TRYING to help you.

It's even more ridiculous when you release another "update" which shows minuscule adjustments while also blatantly ignoring the issues brought to your attention since your last "update", which gives others the idea that you aren't taking their advice.

  4. What I'm about to say has been said numerous ways many times before. It continues to fall on deaf ears and be ignored. Why I'm wasting my time writing this, I know not. Yet, here it is:

The amount of spam the SYP threads attract anymore is astounding. Ludicrous arguments, needless spam, users not following the simplest of forum rules...this is more of a "List Your Complaint"/"Post Your Arguments" thread than a project thread. It's sickening and unnecessary. I don't know if it's a publicity/popularity thing to post these arguments back and forth, trying to make yourselves look good or gain some clout within the community by telling people off, proving "your right", or showing off how big of an arse you can be at any given time, or what. Whatever it is, it's foolish. A lot of the needless bs posted in these threads could have, and SHOULD BE taken to private messages. If you fail to take it to PM, then don't post it. All you do is clutter up a thread with nonsense.

That, or this site really needs an off topic, aimless thread dedicated to people's spam posts regarding the content listed in this, and other threads. Though, that thread would likely be ignored by the bull headed morons who choose to spam up this thread.

I hate to sound like an old man, but "back in the old days" the SYP thread was dominated by project previews, and people weighing in on each others projects. Constructive criticism was the norm, and was gladly accepted. There would be discussions on how to make the project better, insight, tips, and tricks. If there was a "heated debate", then it mostly consisted of people discussing the path of a project, especially if it was a replica. Not in a destructive manner, but a constructive manner. The SYP's of old built each other up to make better and better projects, for the greater good of the community. There wasn't much spam from people asking when projects would be done, offering nothing of their own. People didn't get butt hurt because someone critiqued their project.

This thread has become a cess pool. People need to get their act together, grow up, and shut up. Keep the nonsense out of the project thread. Let the projects, the creativity, and the love that people have for producing content in this community shine through.

  5. So post in the help section to get started. One of the very first posts I made on this forum was in the help section because I wanted to get started making stuff. I'm sure there are people willing to help, and there are tutorials out there to aid you. I thought Blender was super confusing compared to Traxx but with a little guidance and a lot of trial and error I figured it out.

I get that people get curious to the release of a project, but from what I've seen since your arrival, is that you've done nothing but constantly ask if someone is working on a particular track or how it would be awesome if someone made another track. It get's annoying. FAST. What's more is the SYP thread isn't the place to ask, or continuing asking.

If you don't see updates on a particular track, then the creator is either taking a break or working on something else. If it's finished, then you'll see it when we see it in the Downloads section. When it's released is when it's released. Simple as that.

  7. Good to see the post your arguments and make complaints thread is in full effect. I come in here to see the latest WIPs and have to trudge through unnecessary crap from all the poo that gets thrown around in Every. Single. SYP Thread.

I can understand people are tired of seeing Diggers. As much as I've always liked Grave Digger there seems to be a great influx of them as of late. However, it's a waste of time and entirely unnecessary to make a post "vocalizing" your dislike when you know it's not going to contribute or do anything. People are entitled to make what they like. Posting complaints isn't going to change that. Just deal with it silently instead of having to contribute even more needless complaints to an already complaint bloated thread.

Oh who am I kidding? Look what thread I'm in...

  8. @Dalton Erkenbrecher, that track looks fantastic. It's got a good MTM2 vibe to it with the look, layout and obstacles. I love an old school St Louis layout.

If I may suggest: instead of curving out the front of the buses, making the buses themselves a ramp (which looks a bit silly), you could try either a vehicle stack, or a dirt ramp to accomplish almost the same affect. However, it's your track, so if that's what you want with the buses, you go for it. Just a thought I figured I'd share.

No matter what, that looks like it'll be a fun track to toss a truck around on.

  9. God you people are thick. What's so hard about deleting pics when you quote and following guidelines set by the mods?

Here's some more progress on Grave Digger #1. I've updated some of the props (shocks, traction bars, etc), and added a new engine model...

'd like to get some opinions about whether or not this truck should have rear steering, though. To be a true replica, this truck shouldn't have rear steering (since the actual truck didn't), however that may generate an unfair disadvantage for anyone that chooses to use this truck for online competition.

John, absolutely spectacular work on "Grandma"! Truly breath taking.

I'd say have two versions. One with and without rear steer.

Everyone I would like to share a great idea!

First a message to Edy, I am so excited to see PPRL WF3.

Here is the idea: How about whenever someone asks when a project will be released we just delete it all and disappoint everyone! Even if we spent months working on it. Lets put all that time we spent to waste! Doesn't this sound like a wonderful idea?

    12 minutes ago, monsterjamtv said:

I am 16 just saying. Sorry I am being annoying right but I am pretty pissed that Edy deleted World Finals 17 after a few comments. And yes I know I was apart of it.

Dude I quit MTM2 when the community at the time got overrun by immature little brats who didn't show any respect or patience. Dropped all my projects and left. It's another reason why I left this community. Some people can only tolerate so much annoyance before it drives them too far. I've been in the same boat before. Sometimes a project, no matter what it is, what it's associated with and what memories and circumstances linger with it annoy the creator so much that the best course of action is to delete it. Out of site out of mind. You'd be surprised how much it helps to keep one's sanity. There's not even a guarantee that Edy did actually delete it, unless I've missed something (entirely possible). He could be trolling just to get a reaction out of you lot. If that is the case, he succeeded.

I'm not gonna say as much as I want because once again, it falls on deaf ears. It's a pathetic set of affairs around here. People want to cry for and make demands after a specific project. It's only made worse by people like you who are just takers, and your snide remark is just an unnecessary slap in the face for content creators here.

If Edy did delete WF17, fine. That's his prerogative. If you don't like it, then let's see you attempt WF17.

Lol trust me I have tried making tracks. They would hurt your eyes.

I don't want to see or hear any excuses from you. We all started somewhere. Edy, Mark, Johan, etc. didn't wake up one day instantly making mouth dropping content. It took time, practice and patience. The latter of which seems to be in short supply for the immature among us who lurk in this community.

Great idea! Stop the community from having even more tracks converted to .4

Yes because you offer so much to the community by doing that for us. There are a number of people who can handle conversions without your "help".

Kids like you are a cancer to communities. You want and take with little regard to anything else. It's all about you and whatever you can get from a community. Why should we be expected to give you or help you with anything? I don't even get why you waste your time here. According to you and your little circle of rejects, we're full of it, you hate the admins...

...what it all comes down to once again is your insatiable appetite for more. Just a spoiled kid used to getting his way. Whenever you don't, your little world comes crashing down. Whenever you act out and people call you out on it, everybody else is the problem, yet your crap don't stink.

The only good that could come of this is you being banned. You're obviously uninterested in being a viable member of the community. Apart from what you stand to get out of us, you really don't like it here or care to have anymore interaction on this site other than clicking the download button and filling pages of spam from your trolls. You obviously won't mature and recognize that maybe it's YOU who are the problem.

Do us all a favor and leave, or continue on your idiotic tirade so we may see you banned. My head is hurting from YOUR STUPIDITY. And trust me, I'm NOT joking.

  13. Furthermore, demanding a release date be given on any project is a bit pompous and far fetched. In this case, these content creators would be in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation.

Most game developers for PC and console platforms hold off on giving a concrete release date for their products or dlc. This is mostly due to the developer needing time to develop the content, test, bug test, and polish their product. Sometimes developers announce a release date. Often times, dates are pushed back again and again as more development time and refinement is deemed necessary.

Echoing what has been said (head wall bashing commenced, don't even know why I bother to type this as it will likely be ignored), the same can be likened to what content creators do here. Not only do these people have lives outside of this game, but it takes time for the development process to conclude. There is little point in giving an expected date of release when anything can come up in these people's lives. I can imagine a few of the more vocal and whiny takers piping up if a tr?ck isn't released in the expected time, while lacking understanding as to what could have prompted a delay.

It'll be done when it's done still applies. Again, for these creators, this is a hobby. It's meant to be done for fun. No one owes us, or you any bit of content, and certainly no one owes us a release date.

If people can't learn to patiently wait for a bit of content to release at the creators schedule or discernment, then keep it to yourself and don't incessantly insist or post your demands. All it does is uneccessarily clutter up the topics.

It's not as if any whining or demands is going to light a fire under their butts to conclude production on a project just because a few overly vocal whelps speak out.

You lot act as spoiled brats, always wanting more and never being satisfied with what you already have. When the above is in effect, it's extremely difficult for people to not come off as blunt and to the point, dismissive or otherwise.

I'll echo what Charlie H. said: if you don't like what happens on this site, or you "hate almost all the admins or administrators" (which is the same thing, FYI) as you do, then please see yourself out. Nothing is keeping you here other than your obvious insatiable desire for more.

Just going to put this out there. The large amount of people I talk to on Skype who make tracks and trucks and who have an account on here say everyone is "annoying and full of $hit." I feel stricter rules would make people hate this website even more. I am going to be honest, I hate almost all admins and administrators on here (no offense). Most people on here, Not just admins or mods, Need some major attitude adjustments. For example, If you make one mistake you are immediately hated among everyone and if your new to site, you are considered to be the worlds stupidest person. As for the asking for when tracks are going to be done, I do not see what could be wrong with as long as it is not asked repetitively by the same person. People should have the right to know when they will be filled with happiness to have a new truck or track to drive or drive on.

I'm sure the mods of this site are glad to know where you stand with how you feel about them, after they have to put up with our crap day in and day out. Not that it offends them how you feel toward them. They didn't have to let you stay you know. As I recall you broke forum rules.

Absolutely NO ONE owes it to anyone to give a release date on when their project is complete. I can understand a time frame if a person was making a tr?ck to be used in an upcoming league. Even then, an actual release date is hard to come by.

This thread and YOUR ATTITUDE toward the subject echo what I said in SYP: "As listed in this topic, and in many other topics listed many times in the past (which quickly devolves into a number of people beating their heads into the same wall with their words falling on deaf ears), other factors get in the way of completing or "perfecting" a project. Other times, it takes a long time to "perfect" that project before the creator deems it fit for release. I myself used to spend months on a solitary piece to "perfect" it, and iron out the kinks."

Most times, a release date is hard to come by because the creator doesn't know themselves when their creation will be finished, due to life circumstances.

You don't have a right to know anything. And if you or others like you wait with such anticipation for the next tr?ck to be released that you feel entitled to know or demand a "release date", you need to do yourselves a favor and step outside for a breath of fresh air.

Just because things are shown and appear to be finished or perfect doesn't mean things are close to being released.  Like I do with a lot of my tracks and I'm sure Edy too, I show them off when everything is in game and looks the way I want it to.  But the model could be floating in the air, things could be back faced, or collide-able when they're not supposed to be.  That is the exact reason you don't see many things from me after I show them off, because they are never perfected.

    1 minute ago, 1029Eric said:

Then you should perfect them, then release them.

This is the thread of many aliases. One of which is "Show Your PROJECTS".

A project indicates a WIP (Work In Progress). An ongoing endeavor in the creation of a particular work. If you're looking for the "show your finished works/progress" thread, that can be found in the download section.

It's not uncommon for any WIP posted in this topic or any previous topics to change and evolve over time. As listed in this topic, and in many other topics listed many times in the past (which quickly devolves into a number of people beating their heads into the same wall with their words falling on deaf ears), other factors get in the way of completing or "perfecting" a project. Other times, it takes a long time to "perfect" that project before the creator deems it fit for release. I myself used to spend months on a solitary piece to "perfect" it, and iron out the kinks.

I can understand the curiosity which results in asking when a project will be completed. However, such posts become quite annoying. It sounds flippant, but the response "it'll be done when it's done" holds true.

These sorts of things takes time. As I've said numerous times in the past, these creators do this as a hobby. They do it for their love of the game and enjoyment of the hobby. They do it on their time and when it suits them. Not because some whiny taker starts asking when a project will be done, then dare to state that they should "perfect them and release them" when they've never contributed anything worthwhile themselves.

Some of those arent really classic but they are games that have a very nostalgic feeling for me.

    What?

    Define "classic".

    Anyway, here's my list:

    ATV Offroad Fury 1 & 2.
    Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
    Red Faction 2
    Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3, 4, THUG
    Test Drive: Eve of Destruction
    Stuntman
    Midnight Club II
    Need for Speed Underground
    Need for Speed Underground 2
    Tokyo Xtreme Racer: Zero

  17. So not .38.67

RoR versions in the range of 0.37.XXX is what you need if you're looking to participate in online leagues, and is the current version used/supported at large. If you like, there is ways to have more than one version of RoR on the same computer without conflict. I currently have 0.37.126, 0.39, and 0.4.5.1 installed.

Having/using .38.67 is completely up to you. I believe there is a V4 truck pack that was released that is compatible with versions 0.38.

  18. And that's your prerogative. But at least don't complain about someone not wanting to take the initiative if you don't want to do it yourself.

It's not even necessarily my lack of WANT to do it, but my lack of time to. It is true as you say. While I don't mean for it to be an excuse (I understand that it can be taken as such), it's always been a peeve of mine to see some seemingly wishing to take, with out any signs of what they can offer in return.

I actually have. I've been editing .truck files (or I should say, A .truck file) since last night to see what kind of setup would be almost equivalent to the 0.37 physics since I downloaded 0.4.5.1 yesterday. If and when I reach a conclusion, I'll share it with the rest of you. But as it stands right now, I can only move a small bit at a time since it's a one-man project, I'm editing physics that have been outdated for 5 years, and I also have a job, which I have to be at in a few hours.

Also, I respect you for actually having an intelligent conversation with me instead of pulling out some cheesy one-liners and continuing to be stubborn. Good on you.

I congratulate you on throwing in. It's more than some are willing, or capable of doing. I applaud you.
