i like the attention that monster jam is saying im just not that big of a fan of the fs1 series i can agree that its neat and cool but most of the trucks that i grew up to love arnt on it and i never really get to see them on tv unless i watch it on youtube and now that they have the series alot of the older trucks are starting to fade away because they are seen less, and also when your seeing the same track and truck lineup all the time then it starts to feel like the same thing over and over

    Hey man, you dropped some of these on the floor. . . . . . ., . . ., ., . . . . ,. .

  3. I watched every single run, you may not agree with me and that's perfectly fine but I strongly believe Lee deserved the win. Lee and Neil both had a bit of a slow point in their runs to ensure they fulfilled the clock but I would suggest if you want to compare the two runs along with Avenger you ignore the front flip, the reverse backflip, and the massive air and compare them as standard runs. They all had something to send them over the top but outside of that I feel as though Lee had the best overall run and was more on the outer edge of a controlled run where as Neil's was the complete opposite of that up until the very end.

dennis is injured and you are talking about scott........SHOW SOME RESPECT

The title of the thread is Monster Jam silly season 2k17, not Dennis Anderson Injury which means other discussions not pertaining to Dennis' are indeed allowed.

Shut up retard look at the title of this a$$hole

No need for this and honestly this sort of behavior is what should be given a 24hr ban for the first offense and following increments for further offenses. This kind of stuff is the reason I don't come here anymore.

    BACK TO THE CURRENT TOPIC(S)

After seeing the image that Kozak posted my first thought was head injury as you can see a rather catastrophic roll cage failure which likely was pushed down far enough that it was against his helmet. Which unfortunately seems to be plausible given the updates of his injury.

  6. Only a few things I wanted and I still can't entirely believe I got one of them as I've only been trying to save what I could for the last 8 years to get it myself.

    Gaming laptop

    Phone case

    Foodstuffs & drinks

    Some clothes

    Some other things I needed

Okay, about Garrett's paint -- I think the main issue is he mostly uses the basic palette colors from whatever editing program being used. This often gives the illusion of looking "cheap" or reminds one of clip art whereas custom colors don't as much. Another issue is there is no sheen to anything on the trucks, everything is flat, I can only assume his graphic card doesn't allow for any more. If so, turning up the graphics up for screenshots would help immensely. But overall most of the colors being used also do not work well together.

Garrett, if you're serious about graphic design, I recommend reading a bit on color theory and studying existing designs that use lots of color (of any sort of object/product; painting, clothing, race cars, product packaging etc). One last thing I recommend (if you're serious about graphic design), find out if you have any sort of color blindness -- approximately 40% of men have some form of it so it's important to know. I hope none of this seems rude, I'm only trying to be helpful because I can tell you work very hard and are really trying. Keep it up, but take it slowly.

    @Garrett Hanson

All very true, never settle for basic colors as you can always get the perfect shade of any color you want if you take the time to find it. It doesn't look like he is using a bake and layering over it which is likely due to being new or not knowing how yet (don't worry, it's quite simple). Everyone should turn up their graphics when taking screenshots, there really isn't a reason not to do so.

That's good advice for anyone on here actually as I'm sure most have a mild form of interest in graphic design or game asset creation but a good monitor can also be a massive help as well. If you're never sure on what colors will work together well then a few minutes spent searching should provide you with sufficient information and examples regarded color theory. I don't think you came off as rude, a tad blunt yes but it's all excellent advice.

I don't think its the fact that they look "cheap" as much as it is that they're very basic.. Not really a whole lot going  on through out the "paint scheme" i guess you could say... I've been designing non stop for the past 2 going on 3 years now and I've learned a lot and i remember when i was like him as well. A few drop shadows and crazy colors will go a long way!!! He'll get better as time goes on..

It's a bit of both if we're being honest but there isn't anything wrong with that. It's often better to keep things more towards the simple side of the spectrum for design and color and will make understanding basic color theory more simplified.

that might've been the funniest thing i've heard on this site yet.

the normal age thing on this site is probably around 10-25. you think some 40 year old is gonna be interested in some monster truck computer game?

    anyway...

I think you'd be rather surprised, the difference is most people in their 30s+ have better things to do than come here and listen to children argue. :) From what I remember there were quite a few in that age group, they just don't post very often if at all.

Glad you were able to fix the problem, make sure to vote the solution up so it's easy to find as well. ;)

why do you guy have to be so mean I understand that you guys are like 20 30 40 year old men who have a lot of busy things in your lives and I've machined this on show your projects but I said I will try to make Minneapolis 2016 and Baltimore 2013 and also Jacksonville 2014 next month hey I'm actually going to do something that would give me respect on this site

He wasn't being mean, he was bluntly stating that you did not help in any way with the issue he was having and searching through folders is something that was likely done long before he even thought of creating this thread. (They also gave you some mild constructive criticism on how to improve helping future problem threads too) The solutions to the problems that arise are not always the easy ones or as simple as they appear but there is no shame in asking for help. Problem solving can be a fun and useful tool, as until I saw this thread, I did not even know this error existed. Respect is earned, not given but I do however look forward to your future content. :)

ok start posting some cancerous builds

Maybe take your own advice and start the post with some actual content instead of demanding others do it for you would have been a much more friendly way to start this off. Before you become confused with why I said demanding, perhaps some basic English grammar refreshment would help?

Because "this sh!t doesnt belong on here and I decided to post it anyway?"

I understand you're promoting another game but if that's the only reason why, I vote thread deletion. This is probably the worst thing here right now, and people wonder why this site is dying.

Correct, it does not belong here. However, it would be fine here: http://sim-monsters.com/index.php?/forum/66-gaming/

Promoting other games is fine, promoting other communities to drive users away from this site is not fine. Not sure about the worst thing, I mean I'm still here. The site is dying because no one here knows how to get along with anyone but themselves sadly. Which is why if you're keeping track would be fitting to include in this thread as it would imply we are the cancerous object to our host.

20 hours ago, Mr. Self Destruct said:

Technically you are promoting it because you're making a thread based around it for the sake of communication with other players of that game. And still:

    My point stands.

Which is fine? We have plenty of other threads for things that are not even related to monster trucks.

It would first (if it did belong) of all go under gaming, second of all why here on this website, why at all

Correct! Second, why not this website? Is this not allowed to be a gaming community including but not limited to monster trucks or various other forms of driving/racing or did I miss the town meeting again?

Im not good with computers or coding at all but is it possible for someone to rip the bodies off of the new monster jam crush it ? Just wanted to see if i could mess around in blender with the monster mutts and dragon

You're better off making your own than trying to fix poorly made models, that was a major issue with the first two to three truck packs. It's also illegal and it's been proven more times than necessary that the users of this site are far more capable of making quality content than the people they hire to make the official games. So to answer your question, yes it is possible but it's not worth doing for the reasons listed above.

Everything else looks really good in here, even those Grave Diggers. (Wouldn't mind seeing you span out into other trucks of the same eras though ;))

  11. EDIT

Seems blender isn't detecting that you have the Ogre scripts/plugins, make sure you have everything installed in the proper directories. This is the main one that you need to have and you will need to enable the option to show hidden files and folders in order to access it.

    C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\.blender\scripts\ogrepkg

(The following can still be useful information)

Not 100% sure but it looks like you need to specify the directory for the OgreXMLConverter.exe in blender.

    Click on preferences.

    9cbc6f655e.png

Should be something like this, then click on Manual -> Select -> find the path for the OgreXMLConverter.exe (C:\Program Files\Rigs of Rods\OgreXMLConverter.exe) It will be in your main directory for Rigs of Rods. Once you find it and click on it to select it, press OK and you should be able to export Ogre.mesh files.

Honestly the whole monster truck community has been on a downturn IMO. There's no real strong community board anymore. Every Facebook group is an old school circle jerk with poor grammar, and this site seems to be getting slow. Leagues are few and far between now, and it's even rare when one seems to make it a full season. The old guard of content makers have passed and it's been a slow trickle for new members coming in. And really it's getting a bit too redundant for the whole monster truck community in general. There's no real life and breath anywhere like Mayhem and Draggers and even this site had back around 2008/2010-2014. This just doesn't seem like much of a happy place anymore. I do hope someday I'll come back and this site is alive and well, I really do.

It always does though as it usually coincides directly with the real Monster Jam schedule as far as activity goes but I will say even that seems to be of little help anymore. If you value your brain you should avoid a majority of the Facebook groups, it's mainly people that want to argue no matter what then block you/remove you so they can play superhero. The slow trickle of newcomers, especially in regards to content creation is something that every single person on this site has a stake in the blame game for. So ten people make a Grave Digger, who cares? Everyone on here does or they wouldn't be bitching about it all the time. Why not just be happy new people are trying to make something and try encouraging them to finish their current project and drop a subtle hint of a possible followup project? The reason everyone makes a Grave Digger is simply because it's easy due to the abundance of resources for doing so in comparison to other trucks.

I stopped making content mainly because I lost interest after losing so many projects due to computer issues or hard drive failures but also because I simply couldn't make content of as equal quality to what was being made so I stuck to making improvements on things that were being overlooked for years like the gauges. I stopped posting what I made or was making because constantly having someone tell me it was terrible with zero constructive criticism to help me improve it got really fucking old fast. You don't have to like what someone is making but that's no reason to have ten project chapters bitching about it in the title and multiple posts. If you're so tired of it, shut up and make something because it really isn't that hard to get started compared to when this site first launched. I've enjoyed what this site has to offer and actually made some pretty cool friends because of it so it would be kind of sad if it died off but if things keep going as they are then that is inevitable conclusion we will come to.

By the way this site has only been around since 2011. ;)
