Evidently you haven't paid attention to places outside of where you live in regards to that it would seem. It's the second year of lake front areas receiving more than 2 feet of snow in under a day recently. I mean parts of Texas this year have gotten over a foot of snow for crying out loud, that does NOT happen often if at all. The last time I recall having multiple storms of way too much snow where I personally live places right into when the last El Nino occurred in the later 1990s which was weaker than the current one. You should also keep in mind that a lot of places have yet to even get their first snowfall that aren't by bodies of water in the U.S. I looked in your profile to see where you live but it does not say but elevation has an absolutely massive impact on the snowfall amounts one can receive. I also want to take a moment to point out how they're not willing to throw numbers around yet and the last time I remember that happening DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia etc got well over 12" of snow. Just don't expect that to happen every time there is a storm expected or you will most likely be disappointed.

I'll probably add some things in a following post around Thursday once we're a little closer to this storm.

I know a lot of people that have had issues with the .zip wind up unzipping it into a folder in their vehicles folder and use that instead which also takes care of the problem that arises when you get to having a certain size zip which I think is around 2.0GB where it will stop reading files. Something to possibly consider.

Don't ever get your hopes up when it comes to things like wikipedia and not the mentioned the "sources" listed on the page for the 2016 shows all but Foxborough use a fake website.

I'm going to just go ahead and tell you both to shut up as you've really added nothing to this request thread. C'mon now we're not used to civilized discussions on here. The only thing I'm going to mention is that you both did indeed bring up the subject of spam before I mentioned it in any form and if either of you read the entirety of my post you would actually realize I was referring to past events that took place in the request sections which is why they usually don't get very much attention other than negativity when there are multiple instances of the same request, you really only need one thread for that. So to conclude the spam argument in this thread you both took what I said entirely out of the context that it was directed toward.

Also anyone that tells you RoR is well optimized has never been in touch with a very well optimized game because RoR is about as far from that as you could possibly get and it's rather well known not just on this site.

The only reason I mentioned the spam bit in this thread is because you yourself and Hot Shoe both brought it up before anyone else did so I added it to the things I was addressing as it was relevant to this thread as well.

Also if you actually read the entirety of my post, specifically where I mention spam in general. It is extremely relevant to the entire requests section of this site.

Solution to that has been to rename the main folder in your program files if you don't want it to be removed, only downside is forgetting to reset your preferences in blender or your exporter can stop working.

I've never noticed an FPS difference at all in any version and I'm pretty sure with my computer that's something i would have noticed and loved to have had but it's not the case, some people get an FPS improvement and I've heard others get a decrease.

Sadly as much as we all wish new members had the ambition to want to learn how to create things including many of us offering to help them or try point them in the right direction it often far rarer for it to actually work out the way you describe. Usually it leads to having your PM inbox spammed with requests for a month if not longer or multiple threads asking for the same thing. I'm all for helping people learn or making tutorials since a lot of them were deleted during a site software upgrade.

Things to remember about creating content for RoR version 0.3X.XX+

1. Blender is not as easy to use as you think it is
2. Blender will crash at the absolute worst times
3. You will come to loathe there being no way of lining most things up other than to go back and forth from file to game to check
4. Your game will crash repeatedly for absolutely no reason at all
5. Contrary to popular belief, most of us do try to help those willing or expressing interest to learn but don't ask us to completely do something for you. One of my personal ways to try and help people learn is to give them a few options to try to figure out which works best for them so they're largely learning on their own instead of having someone do something for them which usually misses the learning process entirely for certain things.
6. Do not expect what you see from Rockcrwlr, Johan, Fern etc for your first creation. We all start somewhere but the hard part is getting new people started.

As far as the spam comment that was made earlier, this thread was created AFTER the 0.4.X thread he made which included several posts of his own being 4-6 in a row which does indeed classify as spam just to clarify.

Reasons for not upgrading since this topic will never die.

1. Every version of RoR is very unstable, as most of you have found out
2. The entire reason we moved from MTM2 to RoR was for better physics
3. I've been pushing for stand alone trucks since the V3 super pack project and it's only now catching on
4. The lack of servers for all versions was/is still a pretty large issue and not everyone can host a private one, there was a time when only 2 people could even host private servers out of the entire RoR monster truck community in the past
5. Most use a controller of sorts now but a reason for not upgrading in the past was the fact that using the keyboard to drive was extremely slow and very difficult in certain situations (and still is in post 0.37.117 versions) but at the time nearly everyone used the regular keyboard controls to race
6. When leagues first started 0.37.XXX was still considered very new then once 0.38 rolled out there was a new version almost every 1-2 weeks
7. Most of us are in favour of upgrading to newer versions but it's not really worth upgrading to a new version when a large portion of the content on the site is already extremely outdated (one of the reasons I kept pushing for stand alone was to make future upgrading easier, I believe I was the first one to release a completely stand alone truck on the site as well)
8. I'm sure there are plenty of other things as well but most of them have been outdated or improved upon

Request threads are fine but there is also no guarantee it will be completed or even started, I've seen entire pages filled with the same request in the past and have had several spammed into my PM inbox on here and while it's not much of a problem anymore it can still be annoying to some when there are. If there is a request thread for something you want already made reply to that thread to get more interest and get it noticed versus making one or several asking for the same thing. The search function is a bit dumb right now but it still has a purpose that most people forget about.

Also I'm not sure what you mean by "America", does that imply you also care about Mexico and Canada as well or just the US? Maybe you should look at a map and decide.

1) Been tried and has failed every single time because it creates an entirely new of problems.

2) It already exists and you're not improving it without modifying the actual code of the entire game though some tracks do offer skyboxes with day and night versions which has been the workaround for such a thing.

3) That would be great to have but I highly doubt we will ever see it but if you're expecting to get point and click full blown truck and track making go find another game because it's not going to happen in RoR. Also you should keep in mind that the original RoR team completely abandoned the game in favour of BeamNG which still has a multitude of the same problems. (As far as I'm aware at least)

We all do this in our free time to improve the game for as many people as possible and if you really want to see what it used to be like then go find a download of Monster Truck Madness 1 and 2 because that's pretty much all we had before RoR got really popular amongst that crowd which funny enough always caused arguments on MTM2 forums. RoR is not and never has been nor will it ever be an easy game to create content for, Blender the main ingredient for content creation has a massively steep learning curve that some people don't even get it installed properly before they give up. If anyone really wants to help move everything forward you should start learning Blender and how to use it with RoR. Also something else that really needs to stop is putting down everyone that posts their first mod or creation. The negativity towards it is why we have no one making trucks or tracks anymore and every single one of us is guilty of it. Maybe we should.... I don't know, try to be helpful instead?

Almost the entirety of this thread to me seems like you're asking everyone to cater to what you specifically want to have in RoR or to upgrade because you think it' s good idea which it isn't a bad idea but you keep forgetting to look at it from the OTHER side that is the creator's point. Which isn't entirely your fault because you still seem somewhat knew despite having a previous account. Here is the very simple TL;DR version: If you want us to upgrade you shouldn't expect any new trucks or tracks for at least 6 months or a year. Though I have an odd feeling you'd be on of the first in line complaining if that were to happen.

In all honesty and as much as I dislike being the one to put it like this.... re-read all of your posts. You want this and that and you have not offered anything to the community presently no have you in the past (Did your old account get banned?) That is what's wrong with this community and why it is slowly dying and one of the biggest reasons I have almost no interest in the game anymore.
