View File JackM's "Open Header" (Short-Pipe Zoomies) Truck Sound Pack After many months of trial and error, I can finally say I've created an short-pipe zoomies sound that I think is worthy of being posted on Sim Monsters and used in Rigs of Rods. I've probably gone through 10-12 different versions of this particular exhaust sound, but I think this version turned out the best. Initially I wasn't happy with it, but after almost a dozen attempts, I think it's the best one I've gotten by far. I truly believe that these are some of the most important sounds to have in this game, considering a vast majority of monster trucks have used short-pipe zoomies in their lifespan. If your truck happens to have exhaust similar to that in the picture I've included with this file, feel free to use them, but give credit where credit is due. Plenty of fresh faces have arrived to the RCA Dome for the fourth stop on TLG's Season 2 tour. Racing is fast and tight, promising a difficult time for all fifteen drivers. Can Trevor Amos pull out another win, or will someone fresh rise to the occasion?

This request isn't going to follow the traditional format because it really can't, so feel free to delete it if necessary, but this concerns trucks so it's being posted here. We have some very high quality truck sounds out there to go with our very high quality trucks, but one type of truck sound hasn't been made properly. One that is extremely common but we haven't done justice yet, at least not in many years. Here is what I'm talking about. Listen and weep. This type of sound/exhaust goes by multiple names depending on who you ask, like open-headers, zoomies, etc. Regardless, they are specific and many trucks use them. Now, just because a truck has similar looking exhaust, doesn't mean it's going to sound the same as another truck. Different motors, different tones. It will vary from truck to truck and team to team. Also, that particular video and others from that same show can't be used due to the high amounts of mic distortion. That alone ruins the sounds. Personally, I have tried at least 4 times to make my own versions of these sounds since March of this year, but I've never gotten it right once. I've spent entire days researching and sampling trucks like Time Flys, Stone Crusher, Predator, and Wrecking Crew, and they all sound off. Every time, they either sound too nasally or they sound like a VTEC engine. You can blame Rigs of Rods, you can blame recording quality, you can blame my audio editing skills, but regardless, it still doesn't fit the bill. https://streamable.com/k2mqh6 Here is my latest and final attempt, using sounds from Team Scream trucks. It sounds decent for those trucks, but not what you hear in that El Toro video. Also, I only used Arctic Shock because I needed a truck to modify and that happened to be the one I chose. Back in 2012, xunlex worked on truck sounds similar to these and, for the time, they were very good. You can hear them in this video. https://streamable.com/j2ecdy In the year 2020, they are very compressed and distorted, and don't sound nearly as powerful as other truck sounds that are out there and I don't think they're up to today's standards. There exists a sound pack called ZoomiesV2, also created by xunlex, and while they're fantastic sounds, they aren't what we need. Those sounds work best for a truck with long-pipe zoomies like Dennis' Grave Digger or Overbored. They have more of a treble-y growl to them and sound very coarse and gravely. The sounds we need are a lot more bass-y and have this massive roar to them, but are a bit smoother while still sounding rough and serrated. This is a request to all sound makers out there, and those who are willing to comb the YouTube landscape to find what we need. We need these sounds. This will not be easy, but so many trucks use these sounds and to have them once and for all would be a massive blessing to the truck making community.

These sounds were meant to be used for Maximum Destruction and can be heard in various episodes of The Long Game. Tom's old truck has such a distinct sound to it, so I can't say whether or not these are exactly how I want them to be. I may go back and make changes at some point and may have made a mistake or two, but let me know what you guys think. I also added an NAMT-tuned version of these sounds, in case anybody here with open headers on a front-engine truck want to give it some accurate sounds. For this pack, the trucks I sampled were California Kid, Jester, and Maximum Destruction. The second stop of The Long Game Season 2 in the red-hot Phoenix, Arizona.

Season 2 of The Long Game has finally come to a close, and now all eyes are set on Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The top 16 trucks in our points series this season will be competing for two coveted championships; 'Racing' and 'Freestyle'. Only one of our two previous champions will be returning to defend their title, that being Danny Walker in Grave Digger, whom surprised us all with his Freestyle championship win last season. That being said, things have changed drastically since then. Dozens have scratched and clawed their ways up the rankings, trying to earn the opportunity to compete in this upcoming event. Trevor Amos has won the series points championship in Obsession, and remains undefeated to other drivers in racing dating all the way back to Event 3 in Atlanta. That being said, he has red-lighted during racing multiple times this season, which technically count as a defeat. Will he pick up the racing championship this time around, or will he be beaten in his efforts, either to another driver or to himself? From names like Chadwick Deerfoot, to Chris Pervolarakis, to Tyler Richmond, to Alex Ferullo, nobody is going to be resting easy without giving it their all to win that racing title. Can Danny Walker win back-to-back freestyle championships, or will one of the 15 other drivers rise to the occasion and put down the run of a lifetime? This course won't be easy to tackle or last long on, but nobody is going to back down from it either. Freestyle wins have been unpredictable all season, so who will be able to take the final one of this season? At long last, Season 2 of The Long Game is finally coming to a close, and our last stop before the World Finals is none other than the Superdome in New Orleans, LA. Trevor Amos has run away with the points series ever since Atlanta and has left the rest of the competition playing catch-up for most of the season. Last week he won racing in Minneapolis, and the week prior he won racing in Arnhem. With one event left before Vegas, he won't be settling for two in a row, and especially not with a course like this. This modified, perhaps Cajun-ized, St. Louis style course is all about speed, and nobody in The Long Game is afraid of that. With every driver fighting to get into the top 16 spots in the points series, there won't be any holding back or playing it safe in this event. Last weekend's show in Minneapolis was a good example of the heat being turned up the closer we get to the championship event. Heat-seeker Chris Bialek managed to pick up a freestyle win last weekend with a perfect 30, and there were plenty of close scores as well. Will he be able to pick up another win heading to Vegas, or will somebody else use this massive open floor to their advantage? Will Trevor Amos pick up yet another racing victory, or will he have his second streak broken before Vegas, either to himself or to someone finally able to beat him at his best? The extended edition of our tense Houston Democross Racing!

After last weekend's event, multiple trucks have been left driver-less due to their drivers having missed too many events and being removed from their trucks Seeing as we have run out of reserve drivers from the list to choose from, sign-ups for Season 2 of The Long Game have officially been re-opened. Each sign-up entry must follow the blank format below: Full Name: Truck (and variation if necessary): Hometown: Discord Name: Years in Competition: List of Available Trucks Reserve Drivers: If every truck is chosen, drivers can still sign-up as reserve drivers and would leave out the Truck part of the sign-up format. In case any driver decides to drop out of competition or leaves the league for any reason, the next reserve driver in line would take their spot. If it happens during the regular season, they get their points as well. Reserve drivers must take the soonest available truck if they are first on the list.

As Season 2 of The Long Game begins to wrap up, we head back to the United States into Minneapolis, Minnesota's freshly-resurrected Metrodome, which has an extensive history of monster trucking action. This Chicago-style course is tacky and quick, which will surely prove to be a challenge for TLG's many competitors. Last weekend in Arnhem was a spectacular yet controversial event for those competing. Trevor Amos managed to pick up an extremely close victory against first-time finalist Tyler May, and continues to dominate in points. Oval-style tracks are his specialty, but his tendency to red-light has been his downfall. Will Trevor be able to start another winning streak heading to Vegas? In Arnhem, freestyle was off the wall, but Trevor Michalesko and Vincent Akard managed to stand above the rest and walk out with a dual freestyle win. Will they be able to replicate their success in Minny, or will this larger-than-life freestyle track benefit another driver's skill-set instead? Will TLG ever have pro stadium trucks at all?
