  1. Most of you probably aren't going to read this but, what the hey.

Became a big monster truck fan when my family first got Speed channel, when I stumbled across the Captian's Curse World Finals 7 run on TV. Watched the show off and on, and bounced around the interwebz watching monster truck videos and so forth. Believe it was summer of 2011, I stumbled across the RORMJ World Finals Freestyle video and sat ther mezmotized about how cool it was seeing a realistic monster truck game in the flesh. Started watching the replays of RORMJ for awhile, really likig that it was a bug change from the TV show. Everything just seemed to feel like an actul compotition instead of a circus act. And if you're reading this Dig, I found your announcing over the videos superb. Props to you.

Played a lot of video games at the time of the event replays, and most of the guys I paled around with kept talking about "V3" and an upcoming "V4". Finally after asking around, I found out the game was RoR, and the V3 and V4, what I thought of as game codeing, were truck packs. Few months later I decided to download RoR. At this time, I beliee I downloaded .38, and I had no idea how to add vehicals and maps, so shortly after...uninstall.

Months went by, and the hype for V4 grew and grew until it came out. I couldn't take it anymore. I got around to asking Nick Migues, nephew of Darren Migues, if he could help me get it set up to run this V4 pack and all. After lots of trial and error, I finally figured out how to get everything going. First time in game was Metal Mulisha at RockCrwlr's WF13. Instantly had a blast with it, and joined Sim-Monsters. Wasn't that good at driving, and I still stink eith racing, but I tried to qualify for events.

First attempt was Fall Madness II, in Wonder Wagon. Didn't go well, but I did find it cool to meet Josh Rhodes, the guy that I'd been listening to in those videos for all that time, and at that moment, I knew I was gonna enjoy RoR because I had seen what went on with series and all.

Second attempt at an event was Mayhem at Christmas Village, driving The Felon. To my suprise, I did end up qualifying, but was dropped due to the mistake of using the web based AIM, where I couldn't be added to group chats. So close.

Tried ORL and SSRS, both with no luck. Then came ROR-MTC (Probably got that wrong, , Chadwick's league, planning on using leafers next season..help me out, fellas.). First event I signed up for and ran went great. Was in my own Heavy Metal truck, on a straight drag course, and made it to the finals. Then guess what...I jumped the start and lost right then and there.

Needless to say, I've had some pretty dumb luck with racing, but all in all, I enjoy the community. Great guys that aren't afriad of havig a good time, and great livestreams when you roll the truck in the first corner of an SSRS track. Besides the losing streak, I'm happy for the welcome, and all the good spirited people I've met over the ladt year and a half. One last thing. I applaud you if you read my whole fanboyish story.

  2. It's not about "you can't host one because you're a noob", but more of a checklist to see if you yourself are can put it on without having it backfire with many problems. Even a single Fun Run takes a lot to put into action. Putting on a league is a lot of work, and nobody wants to see a league fail with inexpirience. I'd say do what Kozak said and host a fun run. Get an AIM chat up, get a server up, qualifying and the whole nine yards and see how everything holds up, then give yoursekf an evaluation and see if your ready to host a full league.

  3. You never fail to impress, Rock. As for me, I've always viewed the color as a really dark masking tape/painters tape blue, but hey, theres a million and one blues out there. Side note, anyone happen to have a '74 Ford Mavrick body laying around?

  4. [TRUCK REVAMP] Rockstar Energy Heavy Metal

    Name: Rockstar Energy Heavy Metal

    Body:  Ford Raptor (Already Build)

    Chassis: CRD (Already Build)

    Paint: (Already Completed)

Other Details:  The truck has already been built, but I'm looking for a slight revamp of some of the components.  I'd like to throw some of the V5 items from the scrapyard on the truck including the:  V5 Ukraine tires, and the V5 engine model found on newer Mopar Magic truck, and the rims that fit the Ukraines.. (If that's be alright with Johan and Danny) Really, that's about it for now.  I've had horrible experience with .truck files and what not, so any bit of help goes a long way.

Original file can be found here:  http://sim-monsters.com/index.php?/files/file/1170-rockstar-energy-heavy-metal/

'Priciate the help, as always, fellas.

  5. Driver to get Wrecked First:  One of the single car teams.  Dunno who, but someone will cut a tire down and scrape the wall.

    Fastest Car:  Jimmie Johnson

Driver that Causes the "Big One":  Ryan Newman

    500 Winner:  Denny Hamlin

I'm about ready to put money on the first wreck.  Doesn't seem like someone would flat out lose the car, bet it's gonna be something minor.

  6.

Redid Metal Mulisha, credit for wambo, Dan Don, and Chris H. for the extra props. Credit for teaching me how to make a fiberglass backface goes to Johan for that tutorial. Credit for the chassis goes to Kozak and the one that made the body goes to Klayton. I'm going to release this and use it for ROR-MM and other leagues. Enjoy!! :-)

If you want to go with a more accurate version, you could change the roof logo to that new "38 Shield" the truck's been running for the last year or so.  Still, really, really nice.  I think "The General" would be happy with the outcome.

  7. My money's on Hamlin. Strong car throughout Speedweeks, and he's won the past two races. He's definatly on a mission this year.

    EDIT, POST DUELS:

1st Duel race was alright. Nothing major, Kenseth brings home the second JGR Victory of 2014!

2nd race was where it got interesting. #48 runs out of gas, causing the #1 to send him around. A lot of other cars destroyed. Biggest part is that Clint Bowyer got airborne and ended up "Barrell Rolling" the car, land it, and still finishes the race under power. Denny Hamlin wins.

    And if I may add...

    #JGRPreseasonSweep!

  8. Second Assault just came out for Premium members. Anyone play BF4 on here?

I wish they would have just given everyone Second Assault today, with how long we've had to wait for it but, at least I'll get it. March 4th isn't that far away. Let me know how Metro plays. Been a big fan of that map.

  9. I have a 1999 Nitro Machine monster truck and a Hotwheels VW Drag Bus and Drag Truck. I have more but I don't feel like posting because I dont know what most of the trucks are.

Those the ones with the metal bodys that lifted up towards the front? I remember havig one that had the rear shell off, believe it was white and red, and another full bus that had flames on it. Loved those things. I had a bunch of early 2000 1:64 trucks, which now rest in all their mud caked glory in the bottom of an old plasic cheese curd barrel. And yes, my Goldberg lost a wheel, ironicly enough.

  10. just make the back wall near the sign the backflip ramps. doesn't get in any line's way for the rest of the track and everyone can see it.

    seriously, love world finals 14

Honestly, if they build it like they did for the Max D encore last year, I'd be happy. Just as long as it doesn't launch the trucks higher than it did, it would safe for tbe sign-driver area, and like you said, open the track up more.

I'm still praying for the return of bus stacks.
