I noticed a lot of tutorials are for 2.65. I recently go blender 2.49 and have no clue how to use it. Been watching tutorials but getting little from them. Are 2.49 and 2.65 the same? And is setting up ogre exporter that same as well. Really wanting to make my own custom tracks.

A new worry for the future, something will happen like recent accidents like Mexico and the Netherlands will ruin it all. That a careless small promoter could make the mistake and it will be ruined for the business. This is one of the safest sports there is as long as people aren't careless. Also worried about Vegas becoming to dangerous. It's the best place to have it in terms of income but it needs to be redone in some way. Worried that if something goes terribly wrong at a monster jam show or X show will be the end of it.

I would like to start helping out around here and since i dont have any way of donating at this time, i would like to make some content. so which is easier, a truck or track for first project in blender 2.49

sorry, im confusing i know. i meant destruction of obstacles, not trucks. IMO is was the best run ever, i am a maxd fan, but it wasnt a winning run. it is a run i would like to go back in time and see for myself. But it wasnt a world finals winning run? pablos and paukins runs were worthy because the truck held together and they did things others didnt do.

i could be, and i agree that broken trucks make for a horrible show. World finals 5 wasnt that good to me either. I dont want to see someone go out and destroy their truck. I like what tom did was because he did what he could with a broken truck, he put on a show with what he could do. i know he just ran over stuff for a minute, should it have won a championship, no it shouldnt, neither should lupe or madusa. so you are right, broken trucks make for a bad show.

Can i take the body from one truck and put it on another without blender? like a hotwheels body onto another chassis wiht the .truck file? i took a .mesh and and pasted it where another should go and it put two trucks in one, is there a way where only the body itself will go

I do get that circus vibe too. Love the sport to death. Love some of the drivers. My era would be from 99-2008. After world finals 9, it seemed to change slowly to what it is now. Less destruction and more dirt. Max-D can't be Max-D if it's only dirt. I still enjoy watching the shows today. I wish I could go to more and meet drivers. They do have a lot of talent today. But like others say, they actually need to be invited to the world finals. The 2 day format this year, I didn't like. When I judge a freestyle I judge it by how the truck held up and what the driver could do. If the truck can withstand racing and freestyle in the same night and win both. It said a great deal about the driver and the crew. 2 different nights isn't right for me. The track design was cool yes, but it wasn't for monsters. When I think of a monster truck, I think of crushing cars, busses being demolished with rv's. Not dirt everywhere. I don't know what good could come of the future. Worried about an incident that could lose the sport for good.

So it's only been a short time and the advancements have been mind blowing. But things have changed and always will. Love the sport, wish I could be in their shoes, but what's your preference.
