Popular Post acdcfan56
Alright guys, this has been getting me for awhile now but now I see it as a perfect time to say it. Right now, the content released with great excitement/accuracy in trucks and tracks is coming out of the following people; Danny Mackey, Aaron Lurie, Tharindu Don, Mark Colineri,Edy Beltran, wambo, Chadwick Deerfoot, John Dough Fernbern, Diggetfan, Nicholas Kozak, myself and a few others. Some of you guys are starting to make content... while the rest of the community is relying on the names above to make the content they want. Which is very disappointing to see. As it goes now, once all the names listed above leave, what's gonna happen to the community? We are gonna go back to step 1 in the days of v3 when it comes to detail and complexity of trucks and tracks. And to be honest I'd rather not see this place die when I leave or the names leave. Now some of the names will stay, but either way this community shouldn't rely on them for content. It's time for more people to step up,and learn how to make trucks and tracks. I want to see this place like how it was 2 years ago. When we had about 10 people not 2 making up to date tracks, or 15 people not 4 making trucks. This community is gonna really fall back if we keep it as it is. And you guys can't say we don't have tutorials on how to make trucks/ tracks... a lot of it is there, it's you guys that have to take the time to read and learn. Now we don't have every tutorial needed, but we can make them. We can uplate old ones to make them more up to date, we can do everything needed to make this community advance. We just got to take the time and effort to make it happen. I realize the start is gonna be rough in terms of models, and quality of content. But that's alright! No one on this site is gonna get any model, any paint, any setting of the trucks or tracks right on the 1st attempt. It's all about trial and error, and using your mistakes to advance in your work. Hell,it took me 3 years to get where I am. But that's from learning from scratch. You guys will learn it faster with the tutorials. We all need to work together guys. You can't keep relying on us anymore. If you learn and advance in given time, you can make your favorite truck or track. And you'll be more proud of it because you made it. I'm on a phone right now. But I will update this and put all needed tutorials so we can see it. I want this place to advance. Now tell me, why aren't you guys learning? Some are. Which is great but it's barely anyone. Most projects on SYP comes out of 15 members at most. That's pretty small for a community with 2000+ members. Tell me what we're missing and I'll try to make sure we have it so people can learn from it. We have to work together guys. It won't be easy, and it will take some time, but the end result will be worth it.
Tom P.
Preach. I am willing to help with track making and Photoshop tutorials. EDIT: Just as to people added to the list. Devin Doss, maxdman, Roach
maxdfandan555
I was trying to get on a higher level of track making, but it just simply gave up. Now that you really put this situation into perspective, I might try to get back onto track making at a higher level.
Hagan Moskau
I've always wanted to model bodies for myself and not ask people like Andrew Sheets or John Dough for the job, they do an amazing job on them, but I've always start off scratch but I have little patience. I also want to get in to track making, but I don't the first thing about painting or modeling. I won't be here long, and I really want to learn. RowanTheDodo
I've been wanting to start making trucks and tracks for a while now. Really, any tutorial that shows the basics of truck and/or track making would probably be best to start off with. I know that there are tutorials out there that focus on bits of that, but a complete tutorial with everything in it would be amazing, although it does seem tough to make too. zero_mass
I wish I could build tracks, but I have absolutely no idea how to use Blender.
Tom P.
Updated track tutorials are a must then
dd908
If I had time, I'd be pumping out some badass trucks. I wish you guys the best of luck otherwise.
Crazyboy335
Personally I'd like to see updated texturing tutorials. Basically it says to load the truck then export it with a magically created texture with no mention of how to get the map (I can obviously paint well, check the NR2003 section). That's what's holding me back.
Outlawed
To be fair I do not consider myself someone who deserves to be mentioned in that list. What I do in comparison to people who actually can do everything themselves is laughable. There are two major problems I see with how content is made or dealt with on this site. Number one being that the people who are new to tinkering with stuff get shunned pretty hard if all they show off in a SYP thread is that they changed tires on an existing truck. You cannot expect someone to paint the mona lisa if they have never lifted a paint brush before. Number two being existing members on this site who made nice stuff but never end up releasing stuff for whatever reason. You do not have to upload a complete truck, hell I have made that pretty obvious with just releasing parts and chassis's. But lets be real, nobody wants to learn how to because that would require doing work.
Sergeant Politeness
What I would love is perhaps a couple live streams or full video tutorials going in detail on how to make trucks or tracks. It may be a long and tedious process yes, but it would help so many people out. Hell I've been wanting to dip my toes in to Blender but I can't figure it out for the life of me
CMDeerfoot
I would also be willing to either record and/or stream a tutorial on how to use paint.net, and some of the techniques I use to paint skins; just let me know if you'd want me to record and edit a video, or try to stream through something like twitch. bkelly
I would love to be able make trucks, but I just don't know where to start or what to do.
Gabe2304
Number two being existing members on this site who made nice stuff but never end up releasing stuff for whatever reason. I would upload all my projects but for whatever reason I kept getting errors when trying to upload files. I linked the all photos/files to the sites they were on so I don't know what the problem is. (I understand you may/may not have been referencing people such as myself with that statement.) Along with tutorials previously mentioned, I'd like to see more models/props being publicly released. Like Wambo's engine, ACDC's props (gauges, RII lights etc), and Andrew's bodies etc. I don't like to have to rip models or feel like I'm constantly bothering content creators asking for parts. Outlawed
Could you screenshot and post the errors you get? That way I can look into getting it fixed.
