Official Monster Truck "Silly Season" Thread 2013
CMDeerfoot replied to Roach's topic in Monster Trucks
It was a blown motor, and a nasty blow up at that; it threw a few of the rods out from what I heard. -
Just so everyone knows, here are some other specifics about this event. Your qualifying time will be an average of 2 passes, one in each lane; the top 16 will make it in. The final round will be a best 2 out of 3, similar to Pinks All Out if any of you have watched that show before. Freestyle runs will be 2 minutes long. Try to keep freestyle runs realistic. Wall hits will result in an RII, but will only be called done if the hit is severe; except for the area of the wall that separates the track from the crowd. Hitting the wall in that area is an immediate RII and done, no exceptions. Also, intentional backflips won't be allowed either; mainly because of there not being a realistic flip ramp on the course. As with the rule for the particular section of the wall, doing an intentional backflip is an instant RII and done. Oh and one last thing, please pay attention to what the event officials are saying in the AIM chat. After the first instance that someone drove through the pits in Hagerstown, 2 more did the same thing even after we posted that said move would be a instant RII and done. So with that outta the way, we hope the second installment of the Humpday Shootout will be just as fun as the first, we hope to see you guys on wednesday!

Tonight's event went pretty well minus a few minor hiccups, and congrats to Dan Agosh for winning racing and to Mark Colineri for the wheelie and freestyle wins. We will be back next Wednesday for the 2nd installment of the Hump Day Shootout, and the event will be a blast from Sim-Monster's past!

Actually the team that owns this truck (based out of Saudi Arabia btw) has been around awhile, dating back to the tail end of the leafer generation; and the truck in the vid is one of 3 or 4 they own if I remember correctly. They've been putting on exhibitions over there for quite a few years now, similar to how events are done in the UK and Australia. Here are some links to a couple of albums with pics and vids of their trucks. http://monsterphoto.iwarp.com/geff.htm http://monsterphoto.iwarp.com/geff208.htm -
Pretty good event all around, wished I could've done better in racing though; and I said this on the aim chat, and to the people personally, but i'll say it again here. I apologize for the jokes I made during the aim chat, they were meant to get a laugh but didn't come across that way; and with all the stuff those who run leagues deal with, I should've given more effort into making sure it was known that I was only joking. That's my fault, and I again apologize for it.

Funny thing is (in reference to Big Kahuna), that might not be the case anymore. Back in March, Shane England bought one of the chassis from David Smith and is now running Big Kahuna as a single truck team; and I really can't tell what chassis he bought. It kinda looks like a Racesource, but the cradle looks different in a few of the pics I've seen since the purchase. I'll see about asking him sometime just what chassis he's running now.

No worries dude, I'll help ya out with a pic; this is Mike's No More Manners.

This, for now, will be my ride come September; but if a certain project is finished in time, I will be running that instead.

File Name: Tyler Drew It's Black Out File Submitter: DirtyDawg File Submitted: 28 Jun 2013 File Category: V4 Customs With the formation of the DJM Racing league and their emphasis on using all things custom, I felt it was time to whip up a little something special to run in said league. Inspiration struck while I was browsing my buddy Tyler Drew It's page on fb and came across a drawing he did a few years back, and as soon as I got the go ahead, the construction began. After hours of painting, re-painting, and numerous component changes (plus, getting the thumbs up from Tyler himself), the truck is finally done. This has become one of my favorite customs to date and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out, and I hope everyone enjoys driving this bad mamma jamma. Here's the original artwork done by Tyler Remieres. I am reserving the right to run this truck in DJM Racing, but if my personal custom The Beardman is finished before the start of the season, I will use that instead. Just a little project I was working on for the DJM League, and it's also based off of a Tyler Drew It rendering; I present to one and all, Black Out. The inspiration. The finished product. It will be up for download soon.
