Monster truck movement continues! Team Over Bored has officially debuted their 5th truck, becoming the full time Miss Over Bored. Monster Truckz has expanded their fleet- purchasing Brian Christensen’s Beach Bum truck. They also purchased Hang Loose from Throttle Monster, but has only made one appearance and was wrecked. Garden Motorsports also still has the old Ballistic which runs as Gold Digger, as well as the old Radical Motion- though it has not made any appearances in 2021. The Metal Shop is set to debut a 2nd truck driven by the man himself, Rick Disharoon! The truck is named Smokin and debuts June 19th for a show also promoted by the Metal Shop. Bigfoot recently restored the legendary Bigfoot 8 truck, and it appears that they are jumping on the ride along race truck train as it looks like it has a 2nd seat, though they have not said anything about this. If they do, they join Dennis Anderson’s new King Sling, Joey Sylvesters Nitemare Express, and Kreg Christensen’s Dragon Slayer. Donny Herbert also expanded, purchasing the old silver Hurricane Force chassis, running the Tyrone the Terrible body for Monster Truckz. He also owns Aftershock and pilots both trucks

Lots of movement In monster trucks in the last month or so! We start with Team Throttle Monster adding a 5th truck to the fleet, a second Jurassic Attack on a brand new Eddy chassis- for those wondering, Mike Christensen pilots the first KCM chassis as Vendetta, Dawson Rayas drives the 2nd KCM chassis as the white Kamikaze, David Olfert has the CRD with a Jurassic Attack body, Jeff Souza pilots the Cohen with a black Kamikaze 64 Chevy body, and Paul Jensen drives the new Eddy as Jurassic Attack. The former Reptoid chassis has resurfaced as a teammate to Dysfuctional, Vern House owned, sporting a new identity, Super Trooper, driven by our own SM member Dalton Widner! Reptoid is not gone tho- it reappeared on a refurbished version of the former Samson PEI, finally getting an updated frame. Former Grave Digger driver Rod Schmidt is back, now as an owner! Rod purchased the former Equalizer and Red Solo Truck, rebranding Equalizer as ThrillBilly and Red Solo is now Redneck Rampage, with wife Brandi driving Redneck Rampage. PEI debuted a new chassis for Samson. Jamey Garner is also adding a 5th truck, building a 4th Eddy truck, which is presumed to be a full time Miss Over Bored, joining other Eddy trucks Over Bored, Black Pearl, and Wild Side, as well as concussion chassis Terminal Velocity Lastly, Mavrik Monster Trakker has been purchased and will be ran under new name Zeus- owned by newcomers Lloyd Behunin and Michael Tamietti

How bout some more updates! Mike Harper has expanded to be the largest fleet of independent race trucks- his first 2, Outlaw and Sheriff-originally thunder chicken- and many others. Former Triple X PEI, now El Oso Loco, former Big Kahuna- now Carolina Crusher, the original front engine Outlaw- now Bearfoot, and recently adding the former Radoni trucks Patriot and Hellraiser, now donning an additional Outlaw and Sheriff bodies. Zane Rettew expanded to 4 trucks, adding another brand new Stinger Unleashed, sporting a Metal Shop chassis. His 2020 Cohen truck is now Bearly Tame, with the 2019 PEI being Pretty Wicked and the 2018 PEI bringing back the Master of Disaster name. Team Throttle Monster also continues to add, as they are currently building a 5th truck- a brand new Eddy Majka chassis. This joins the KCM chassised Vendetta and Kamikaze, CRD Jurassic Attack, and Cohen truck that rotates between Wrecking Machine, Kamikaze Black and Rockwell Red. There’s also some trucks up for grabs- Mavrik Monster Trakker is for sale as a race ready truck, and the current PEI Samson chassis is for sale as a roller, as the PEI team shared they’re building 2 new trucks for themselves. And lastly, there’s 2 new ride along race trucks- Joey Sylvester is rebuilding Gary Bauers Nitemare Express to give rides in, and Dennis Anderson is bringing King Sling to the monster truck world as an all new truck that you can ride in with the man himself, built by the Metal Shop. Dragon Slayer is the other ride along race truck currently out there

Yeah the very first video of the series featured them taking Cynthias truck to his shop last year during Q1 to check it out. I doubt it ends up in Dalmatian tho, that would be odd.

So there’s been a lot of moves in the independent monster truck scene in the last 3-4 months, so I’d like to share with you all for those who might’ve missed something and to bring some light to this list once again, as I do keep it updated. First up we have a lot of new trucks. Brandon Budd debuted an all new Buckshot sporting an Eddy chassis. The truck is also being ran under the name Wasted Nites for Monster Jam shows. The former Buckshot isn’t out of life yet, as the old KCM chassis goes to its 3rd owner, Daniel Aimes who also owns Culture Shock, as he expands to a 2 truck team. Presuming this truck will either be Culture Shock or Mrs Culture Shock, to go along with their on/off body Crime Time. Bob Robbins also debuted a brand new Eddy chassis expanding his team to 2 trucks once again, running under the name Plane Krazy to play off Krazy Train, and has also sported a Carolina Crusher body. Zane Rettew is up to 3 trucks now, building himself a brand new Cohen chassis truck running the Stinger Unleashed name. Zane’s 2nd PEI is now Pretty Wicked, and his first PEI is sporting a renewed identity, Bearly Tame to be driven by Brett Butter. He has said he soon plans to build truck #4, bringing back the Master of Disaster name. Jamey Garner has now expanded to a 4 truck team, adding a 3rd Eddy truck to go along with Over Bored and Black Pearl as well as the Concussion chassis. The new truck is sporting the Wild Side name, with his son Zach piloting the truck. Michael Harper also expanded to 4 trucks, but continued with renewing old chassis rather than buying new ones. This time around the former Big Kahuna Racesource chassis got new life, now running as Carolina Crusher with former Max-D crew chief Michael Cole behind the wheel. TK Motorsports is also expanding, adding a teammate truck to Just Get Er Done Second Generation, said to be named Just Get Er Done, and set to debut sometime this summer. Team Throttle Monster is also expanding to 4 trucks, adding on to Kamikaze and Vendetta. The new trucks are assumed to be KCM chassis, with the names of Rockwell Red and Wrecking Machine. They will be debuted at Monster Jam in Santa Clara in April by Aaron Cain and Jeff Souza. In the summer, Hunter Souza will take over behind the wheel of Wrecking Machine, but it’s unknown who will be the full time driver of Rockwell Red at the moment. And lastly, the Metal Shop debuted a new Saigon Shaker chassis, and built a second one for Cory Snyder’s toxic which is set to debut this summer. The rule is if you roll in the first 30 seconds in stadiums or 15 seconds in arenas, you cannot be scored. But, you do still get points for freestyle placement, even if it is only 1 or 2. Also Harpers Carolina Crusher appears to be on the former Big Kahuna race source frame.

You say that as if your idea is the only way, and have taken no time to consider what other people are saying about your idea and the industry as a whole, and just answer with “well no ones listening to my great ideas because they have to dislike me”. You wanted a discussion and you got it, don’t take it so personally if people don’t agree with you, it’s the whole point of a discussion. Plain and simple, monster trucks will never be a racing based sport again, and if you ask me it’s a good thing because that’s what keeping monster trucks around and popular. But at the same by no means am I telling you not to pursue it, because if you want to anything can be tried out. Lots of different series and ideas have been attempted in this industry and you never know what will actually happen until it happens.

The thing you have to realize is that there is substance in my eyes. For those that want to follow it, there is a real legit points series. And like I said, the majority of Monster Jam stadium shows are independents, 8 indies and 6 Mj trucks. They’re sending indies over seas. There’s a tour of random shows completely made up of indies! So in my eyes their not pushing indies out, and they never will because they simply cannot supply all the trucks, but there’s nothing wrong with supplying some, because there has to be some money made outside of the show profits, so that’s where merch comes in. Also, I really don’t understand the 3D body hate honestly. You can’t convince me that Kraken, Wolfs Head, Dragon, Megalodon and others just aren’t bad ass. I think what I’m getting at is that MJ still has legitimacy, but can also provide for fun family entertainment that is imploding MTs all over the world! And they’re not choking out others either. Toughest MT Tour, Throwdown, etc are huge. They do some huge shows. I really just disagree with anyone who thinks MJ is ruining the business, because they’re helping it. And I don’t think anything like the old penda or TNT days will ever make it on its own again- there’s a reason they moved away from it. Stuff that still has that old school racing like the 4 wheel jamborees just aren’t as popular anymore, so it’s really just a good thing that MTs can survive as entertainment to those who want it to be, and a sport to those who chose to see it that way because it still is a sport.

I think you’re the one kind of missing the point- For one, I think your idea is pretty awesome. But I think you missed my major point- that those motor sports that are geared towards adults- Supercross, NHRA, etc- are really not as popular anymore it seems. It honestly amazes me that they still have the backing they do. My other big point is that in my honest opinion, I think Mj has a good mix of both. They have the point series with a real reward for the people who want to follow along, with legit racing- trust me, it’s not rigged, our trucks have won plenty over MJ trucks- and it also has the kid feel with the crazy trucks and antics. And MJ isn’t kicking indies to the curb- all stadium tours are made up of a majority of indies, every arena tour has atleast 2 indies, and other random shows are only indies. In my personal opinion MJ is doing it right, and helping the industry grow. And on top of that, like I said before, not sure if you read that part- your idea is cool, but just not feasible for the trucks performance wise. I also feel your claims of people just disagreeing with you to disagree is a little out of line, you demanded people share their view, they did, and now you attack them because it’s not your view. Kind of defeats the purpose of opinions and discussions

I think a big problem with circuit racing is is that these trucks just aren’t built to handle running past 2 minutes or so- the cooling system simply cannot keep up, and the amount of fuel they down would be insane in those races. You’d be looking at a lot of down time just to cool trucks down. I think it would be cool, but just not feasible for a monster truck. The other big point I’d like to make is is that while it’s geared towards kids, I think those parents enjoy all those same things just as much. I love a good race, but I also love to watch a insane or a nice clean freestyle as well. Another thing to look at is those sports you compare to- NASCAR, Supercross, NHRA, etc, the big legit racing series- are falling off. I don’t think it’s any secret that Nascar is declining, and I think the only reason the NHRA has kinda climbed back up a little is because of the huge popularlity of Street Outlaws. I just think those legit motor sports don’t have the following anymore. I think MTs have all the makings of that- dramatic story lines(thrashes and such) and some amazing action, but I just don’t think it’s a big time legit racing only series anymore. Maybe one day, but I just don’t think it’s there right now.
