  1. I made this to help explain the process. Step 1 is coping an unedited section of the material file Step 2 is pasting it over a section with a spec map Step 3 is renaming the new section to what it says at the top.
  2. If there is a texture issue, it's most likely because of spec maps in the material files. I've gone through and redone all the material files to the way they were before spec maps were added. It's simple to do, just copy an unedited section of the material file, replace the section that has a spec map and rename the texture.png.
  3. To avoid confusion, the texture issues column on the spreadsheet is so that I can make note of what needs to be fixed so everyone's truck looks good on video. The link to the truck do not have any fixed textures or tires. You'll have to fix those for yourself.
  4. We've been using Discord for probably a year now and nobody has had any problem. If your antivirus or windows firewall is saying it's unsafe, ignore it.
  5. This mini series will have similar rules to many other events and leagues previously ran on Sim-Monsters. I'm going to go over the basic rules now so that we don't run into problems later during the events. First off, everyone is going to need this version of Rigs of Rods (Version 0.4.6). http://anotherfoxguy.com/RigsofRods/Rigs-of-Rods-0.4.6.exe If you already have a version of 0.4 (ex. 0.4.5), please instill this new version. It will update your game, but not remove any of your trucks or tracks. Next, in terms of communication, I would like everyone that doesn't have the older version of AIM to download AIM from here: https://www.aim.com/legacydownloads We may or may not use it for event chats, but it's helpful if I need to get a hold of you for something. We will most likely be using Discord for event chats, you can download that here: https://discordapp.com/download You will need to make an account to connect to servers. When it's time for the event, you will receive an invitation for the Discord server. In the event chat, you will receive server info to connect to the Rigs of Rods server. You will need to open your configurator and located the network tab at the top. The IP you receive goes in the server host name box and the port goes in the server port number box. Make sure you have the Enable Network Mode box checked in the top left before you try to join a server. General rules: When in the group chat, keep the language clean and don't post links to anything unless instructed by one of the staff members. The chat needs to be as uncluttered as possible people can see when they are called into game. When you are called into game, you will have 1 minute to spawn your truck. If you join game but crash out, you will have an extra minute to attempt to rejoin and spawn your truck. If you fail to join after those 2 minutes, the race will either be a bye run for your opponent, or in freestyle, you won't be allowed to freestyle. Please join game with your real name, or if you aren't comfortable with that, your sim-monsters username. The events are recorded and since the name tags are on, I don't want anything inappropriate or random as your name tag. You will be kicked from the server if you have an inappropriate name tag. Please make sure your truck and track work before you join game for your first race. There will be a 10 minute time period before the event where you can make sure the server works. Lane choice will be given to the first person lined up in that lane, so if you really want a certain lane, you better be prepared to rush ingame and get it. Any complaining pertaining to lane choice will get you kicked out of the server. When both racers are lined up, and official will say "Ready up". Do not ready up until an official says to. Freestyle will be 90 second runs, no bonus time. Please try to be somewhat realistic as RII's will be like they were in the 2016 Monster Jam season. Going off the track will result in an RII if you aren't under control. If you see RII in the chat, stop your truck immediately and wait for the officials to make a call. Any use of acceleration after an RII is called will result in the run being over. How the events will work: Sign ups for each event will open the Monday before the event at 8:00 PM EST. At that point, the field of trucks becomes a first come first serve basis. This mini series will not be a points series, instead, there will be winners each week and that's it, no points. The only people locked into events are the racing and freestyle winners from the previous week. The final event at Las Vegas is not a World Finals, the only people that will be locked into that one are all the winners from the previous events, the rest of the field will be sign ups. The qualifying order will be random, but lane choice will be the first person to get to the lane ingame. The freestyle order will be based off of your racing performance. Only 1 Grave Digger and 1 Max D, any Grave Digger or Max D is fine as long as they aren't world finals schemes When you pick a truck, I would highly suggest that you make sure everything works correctly in 0.4.6 before you sign up in the truck. If you need to make changes to your truck, you have until July 8th at 12:00 midnight to post a working link to your truck in this thread. You can sign up for trucks that were made for 0.37, but note that some textures may not work. It is easy to fix those textures, so don't just give up on the truck.   9. I've been working my way back into track making, and I do plan on making many more tracks this summer. I wanted to start small with Syracuse and also try something different. These are Matt Wilkinson's cars, I wanted to see how they would look on a Monster Jam track. I don't know how I feel about them right now, but I'll give them a chance. Freestyle is coming soon.

  11. You can download it here: http://anotherfoxguy.com/RigsofRods/Rigs-of-Rods-0.4.6.exe I wouldn't recommend having 0.4.5 and 0.4.6 at the same time since they are the same except 4.6 is more stable. If you install that exe, it will update your game but keep all your terrains and vehicles.
  12. 0.4.6 has a more stable multiplayer, it's easy to update and it saves all of your tracks and vehicles. All 0.37 trucks should work for 0.4. Some textures don't work, but that can be solved by removing the spec maps from the material files.
  13. Yes, you can run World Finals paints at Vegas. Right now, the plan is probably that the top 6 from the season are locked in to Vegas and the rest can qualify in. Yes, if you plan to run the same truck as SMRA, change the settings back to what they originally were.
  14. Yeah, you can run paints that were ran in the regular season, you just can run special world finals paints.
  15. Anyone can run, new or old. That's why i'm trying to stay away from qualifying in, so everyone has a chance to race no matter what their skill is. For a truck to run any promoter means any official monster truck show that isn't just a display. The truck has to have raced or freestyled in at least 2 events. Examples of promoters would be Monster Jam, Monster Truck Throwdown, Checkered Flag Productions, KSR, etc. Anyone that puts on monster truck shows.

  17. Monsters of ROR returns for a short 4 week mini series this July into August. The reason it's a mini series is because I don't know how well this is going to go, I don't know who is going to help run the events and I don't want it taking the entire summer. This tour will be ran on ROR 0.4.6, however, nothing is going to change from how things were ran in 0.37. The tour will consist of 4 custom tracks: Atlanta, Tampa, Syracuse and Vegas. All of which already have people assigned to making them. Racing styles will vary from week to week and freestyle should be something fairly different to what is normally seen on Monster Jam. As for trucks, we will be using: Replica trucks only that ran at least 2 real world competitions with any promoter between 2015 and now. Other than that, the only restrictions are only 1 Grave Digger and 1 Max D, any Grave Digger or Max D is fine as long as they aren't world finals schemes (ex. You can run Morgan Kane's Digger but you can't run the orange one). The only exception I'll make is that you can run the black, orange or yellow El Toro Loco. As for changes to the trucks for the update version: To make things simpler, we will be running the same settings that were used for every other league ran on 0.37. Basically, if you didn't change any settings for SMRA, the truck is probably fine. You can run a different node beam or shock settings, but keep it realistic. If a truck is up for download as a 0.37 truck, it will most likely work in 0.4. Any questions regarding that, message me on AIM at MJFanatic3. Now, for all of you complaining that we are using 0.4.6, there is no reason not to use it. There is going to be a lot less crashing out of game, so the events can go a lot faster. Also, you don't need to make any changes to your truck, so it's pretty easy to get going. There is also a noticeable FPS increase, so many of you will be better off with your computers on the new version. As for how you get into an event, we haven't worked that out yet. It is highly unlikely that it will be qualifying in, we want to figure out a sign up system that is fair for everyone. I also plan on recording every event and make some highlight videos for each show. The tentative schedule looks like this: Events will be Friday nights at either 6 or 7 PM EST.   22. Put this into your script folder http://puu.sh/pJdVP/0b399b0ff1.zip The importer is called OGRE3D Mesh Importer in blender. Make sure that the scale factor is set to 100 in the import window. When you import the object, it will import with all the textures as different objects, but untextured. You need to select every object and double tap tab on it (edit mode back to object mode). When doing this, you should see the model go from black to grey in solid mode. If you don't do this, the texture will disappear when you click off of the object. Texture the separated objects are you normally would.

  24. I can get the model in blender by doing that, but I need the textures and re-texturing something that is completely joined together is very hard and takes a very long time. If there is a way to get it in blender with all the textures or at least textures linked to it so it's easier to re-texture.

I highly doubt anyone is able to help me here, but anytime I want to import something into blender (Like a stadium) to make a track, It says Python Script Error and states that I have more than 16 materials. I have tried deleting materials from the material file and from the xml file, but that doesn't help. I tried a different importer I found online, but it doesn't import textures and everything is joined, making it impossible to re-texture. I would love it if someone would help me fix my importer so I can import things and make new things. #HelpMeMakeTracksAgain
