That I will agree, the timing on my dads 04' 2500 is really slow Until 4 gear is wear you find the real power of the truck. We just put a differential on it and it help a little. With it had an Allison though lol

We trust Dodge in my family The only issue we have ever had (not to start a war) is just electrical issues with the Caravan automatic sliding doors. There was some small issues with the 09' RAM but its a first year for the new body style. All issues resolved and its been put through two wrecks, one totaled the front end of the truck. The engine works just great on only issues we have ever had on our Dodges are either body style from crappy repair centers or electrical issues that they always have Dodge makes quality engines The car company (again not to start a war) that my family has had is always ford Power-train wise from their 99' Powerstroke and their Triton V10 & V8, either the engine goes away over time or a never ending problem I have friends who have replaced their engine on their F-150 and transmission. Most Dodge guys I know are very proud of their car. Like my family 09' Dodge RAM 1500 Laramie 04' Dodge RAM 2500 SLT Heavy Duty Very proud of our vehicles and we have had dodges in the past, many actually 1980's Ram Charger 1980's Ram Van 2003 , 2005, 2007 Dodge Caravan 2004 Dodge RAM 3500 Laramie Heavy Duty None have had Power-train issues. Sorry if you have just had bad luck with the brand. I think they are very good cars

Ya know whats funny, the first year they ran that type of V8 style and tuning (2009) the year my parents have, it lasts forever we drive it a lot and already have 65,000+ miles on it. They offer us every year a huge discount on the new RAM because of the lifetime warranty I dont think they knew they created a masterpiece Waiting for them to send a offer for the new Eco-Diesel V6 lol

Nah duct tape is to serious in this situation, gum will do and spit and the good ole' trusty thumb can buff it out. It'll in mint condition
