Hey yall! Because it’s been a really long time since a Fun Run has been hosted on the site, I’ve been thinking about hosting again and rectifying the first event I ran last year. What better track to use for this than @tjizzle’s newly developed Monster Truck Destruction track! This will be a 2 competition Fun Run; Racing (Qualifying included) and Freestyle. The type of trucks allowed for this event are V4s, whether custom, repli-custom or replica (make sure the truck is publicly available on Sim-Monsters.com!). If you’re interested in competing, read below to see all the info you need to know. If you have any questions, feel free to DM me over Discord (tag: Brandon Adam#7021). (This Fun Run will have no dumb 90 or hacksteer rules like my last event did :D)

EVENT TIMES

August 20th | Saturday | 6:30pm EST

Qualifying: 6:30pm-7:30pm EST

Racing: 10 minutes after Qualifying is done
Freestyle: 5 minutes after Racing is done

 

EVENT COMPETITIONS, POINTS & FORMAT

Qualifying

  1. Qualifying will set our bracket and determine lane choice for Round 1

  2. Qualifying will be done individually (request to qualify in #fun-run-qualifying-requests)

  3. Each driver will have ONE pass

  4. Passes will be HAND TIMED (because the races forum is down) 

    1. Timer will start once the “GO” is typed out in chat (reaction time will be key!)

  5. Top 12 fastest qualifiers make the show

Racing

  1. Racing will be done through a head-to-head, single elimination bracket

  2. Drivers will be put on the two-minute clock to join the server

    1. If they don’t join, their opponent will have a bye-run

  3. Drivers can request for their race to be dropped to the end of the round

  4. Drivers MUST complete their pass in order to move onto the next round

  5. Lane choice from Round 2 to the Finals will be determined based on who got the faster time in the previous round

  6. Passes will be hand timed like Qualifying

Freestyle

  1. Order will be determined based on bracket elimination

  2. Drivers can request to go early

  3. Freestyles will be 90 seconds long

  4. Drivers will be RII’d based on the following:

    1. Hard cage/chassis hits

    2. Hard wall hits

    3. If they fail to save their truck within 3 seconds

  5. Moves are only limited to what’s been executed IN COMPETITION in real life (if it hasn’t happened yet, don’t do it)

    1. Executing an ‘unrealistic’ maneuver will not count towards the score

 

GENERAL QUALIFYING/RACING PASS RULES

Drivers must follow the designated course at all times

You will be given a 5-Second Penalty if

  1. You get only 1 front-tire over a ramp

  2. You go through a turning pole

  3. Two side tires (left/right) cross into your opponent’s lane

You will be automatically disqualified if you

  1. Red-light

  2. Completely miss a ramp

  3. Cut through the course

 

 

FREESTYLE JUDGING CRITERIA

Drivers will be scored from 0 to 30 based on the following:

  • Usage of Allotted Time (90 seconds)

  • Usage of All Obstacles

  • Creativity in Maneuvers

  • Hang-Time

  • Flow Around the Track

  • Smoothness in Execution

  • Combinations
