Tom P.
This thread is dedicated to Musicians, music theory, instruments etc. A place to talk about bands you are a part in, or a place to show off your equipment, or talk about what bands have inspired you lately. I'll start. I play guitar and sax. I'm a Fender guy. Never really liked Gibson stuff. Music a huge part of my life. I play guitar everyday. I write my own music and lyrics on top of all of that. I play in a band with 3 of my good friends. I'm into all kinds of music ranging from Jazz, Rock, Pop Punk, Grunge, and even a little screamo. I play a Fender Telecaster (MIA) with single coil pickups. I usually play with clean tone, but with my band I usually throw distortion on. Since single coil Tele's aren't the best for distortion, Im thinking about buying a Fender Telecaster 1972 Deluxe reissue with dual humbucker pickups. This is it. So feel free to post about your musical influences, instruments etc.
Tylinater
Godin Redline 1 with Dimarzio Dp110 humbucker and Lady Fralin Split Blade. Also, the amp i plug it into is a Peavey Vypyr VIP 2 40 watt amp.
NavySonicShell
WOO! Let's get straight into it, shall we? My first bass I got as a birthday present in 2005. It was a Squire Bronco bass. I no longer have it, and honestly if i did I probably wouldn't play it that much. My second bass was an Ibanez SR300M. This one i still own. It's candy apple red, and since I got my newest bass, has been converted into a piccolo bass (Click here for a video of one) My newest, and favorite bass is an Epiphone Thunderbird IV Goth. Ernie Ball .110-.55 strings sound great on it. Now I also have a guitar that i sometimes play. an Ibanez RG150, in white (extravagant no? )

NavySonicShell
I love playing it, I'd definitely save up for a Thunderbird VI if they ever announced one.

mdemko
My gear. Schecter hellraiser C-1 Custom. ESP LTD Deluxe 4 string bass and same guitar. The newest edition.... Peavey Grind 4 BXP NTB 35" scale bass. I like my basses to be neck-through body and have a natural wood finish. Hey mason... How Are you converting that Ibanez to a Piccolo? Thinner strings or are you replacing the neck with a 32" scale neck?
Tom P.
Ah My friend use to have a Hellrasier. He really liked it.
NavySonicShell
Hey mason... How Are you converting that Ibanez to a Piccolo? Thicker strings or are you replacing the neck with a 32" scale neck? By "convert" I really meant "I put piccolo strings on it" which are much lighter gauge than regular. It plays really nicely, although it's only matter of time before I snap one... I used the set that is available here, in-case anyone was wondering.
mdemko
You may need a new nut. I would honestly go with a shorter scale.
JackMProductions
My Guitars (the SG's are dark red btw and the Strat is light blue) And my new tube amp on the way. Been using a line 6 spider III for 7 years now and it's definitely time for an upgrade I also love using this thing. Hopefully I can get a cheap SD-1 or DS-1. Not a pedal junkie, but I'd like to have a few. I'm very influenced by 90's alternative rock like AiC and STP, but even Jerry Cantrell will tell you word for word to 'quit while you still can' when it comes to trying to get famous playing rock.
Metallica530
Alright, I'll get to posting my stuff later, but I have a question for any guitar players: Whats a good way to keep strings rust free longer, and whats a good set of strings to use? I've been using Ernie Ball Power slinkies for a year and a half now, but over the past 2 months, I've went through 3 sets on one guitar. I clean 'em off as best I can when I'm done playing, but they keep getting real rusty after a short bit of time. I just got a gery minor cut from one a few minutes ago. Now theres a sign that I need my tetnus shot updated...

They are a few bucks more, but they last so long. I just changed my set that I had on for 6 months and they just started rusting. And I play every single day. Trust me, they last. They are coated and are super smooth. I use the .11's. But they obviously come in various gauges.
Double.D ッ
Well, I play saxophone (any sax really, but Alto is my specialty). One of my instruments is a Bundy Selmer that I've had for almost 7 years, and she's still kicking. (Yes it's supposed to look rustic) And the newest member of the family, a Jupiter tenor sax that I bought off a friend a couple of months ago. I'm also learning trombone and baritone/euphonium from a friend of mine (going from playing treble clef for 7-ish years and switching to bass clef in about a week is not a fun task) so I can broaden my range a bit to get into a music school in a couple years, but those aren't in my possession yet. I do in fact plan on going to school to be a music teacher (what can I say, my high school band director was inspirational). Really big into Drum Corps (if you haven't seen any of that, you should) and the marching arts in general. My taste in music ranges from classical, orchestral, jazz, classic rock, punk, heavy metal, what's left of the metalcore genre that hasn't turned into a techno clusterf*ck, some hardcore, and even a little black metal (mainly Dimmu Borgir).
