About This File

From Catawissa Pennsylvania came the Thunder Chicken, driven and owned by Charlie "Kid" Rarig! It raced during the TNT Era of monster trucks from 1987 to 1991. After retirement, Kid named his tire shop after the truck and parked Thunder Chicken out front. The truck grew a cult following from fans of the TNT Era and locals of Catawissa, PA. In 2015, the name would finally be revived by Mike Harper and he would run it for another 4 years. It's chassis would become The Sheriff which still runs today. After Harper discontinued the truck in 2019, Chris Mormanis purchased the original chassis from Kid Rarig and is working to restore it for display at the Monster Truck Hall of Fame.
