Hi, thanks for joining the Sim-Monsters community,
I have been in this community for awhile now and will be happy to help you, I will answer your question in four parts (first part being about how you are making wide turns, second part being the way the truck moves, third part being rebound control, and the fourth part being how to play the most simple way)
1. For starters, if you don't know already, you can toggle rear steer by clicking and holding the f1 and f2 buttons so that you can make sharper and tighter turns. I recommend using a controller or wheel, as you can handle the truck easier. You can also map buttons on your keyboard, controller, or wheel so its easier to use, just open the config file with notepad (found in Rigs Of Rods/config) and go to Command 1 and Command 2, those two commands are your rear steer buttons. For me (I use a logitech g27 wheel), I replace the default mapping with the following:
JoyStickButton (replacing the "Keyboard" term for both commands 1 and 2) and replacing the button mappings with 0 7 and 0 6 (0 7 going for command 1 and 0 6 going for command 2)
(When connecting any type of controller, the game automatically maps the default buttons to the main config, however you can edit the mappings to your liking)
2. Each truck on this site has its own movement. Most of the older trucks in the older versions of ror (0.37, 4.6, 4.7, 4.8) were made differently, so they might move a-lot different than a truck that was made this year, just keep in mind that one truck might move different than another.
3. Rebound control is just a thing that you have to practice at, whether you use keyboard, controller, or wheel. While most cases involve the way the truck was made (suspension might be stiffer/softer than certain trucks), the case is mostly that you need to practice controlling the truck after rebounding from airtime.
4. A-lot of users here will give you numerous answers for the best and simplest way to play. But in my opinion, the easiest and simplest way to play has to be found out by you, test all the ways that you can play the game and pick the one that feels most comfortable to you (i stick with my wheel to help with my overall performance in leagues).
Hopefully I answered some (or all) of your questions, once again we welcome you to the Sim-Monsters community, hope you have a good night!
Sincerely,
Chaos2TheMax
