What Save was the biggest in Monster Jam?

I don't dislike them, but to me it's like calling sky wheelies Slap wheelies, they're similar, but not the same thing... I come across as hating on That son-uva-digger thing, but that's because he was right next to the parked trucks, and there was no reason for him not to have been shut off, not because he tried to get on all fours.

Question. Do any people on here strongly dislike recoveries? Most people come off very snobby when discussing the differences.

Dislike recoveries? No, just the misclassification, it is still cool to see some of the stuff these trucks can do (minus the few instances where safety seems to take a backseat for "entertainment")

I look at it like this - if the truck rolls over but there's enough momentum behind it to save it and the truck's still on, I understand if the driver goes for it and tries to save it. But when the truck is at a point where you know there's no coming back from it, don't peg the throttle out while the undercarriage is facing the crowd! It's stupid, in my books!

I'm just extremely thankful that the MTRA (Monster Truck Racing Association) is innovating a brake shield to cover nearly the entire brake rotor in the event it were to get hot and potentially warp and break.

I remember a while back, a truck ended up breaking something in the motor or driveline, and it actually ended up in the stands.  Believe it ended up killing a little boy.  Granted, the truck wasn't rolling or anything, just a freak accident, stuff does happen.  I'm starting to get a little worried about trucks not being RIIed myself.

After a quick search, I think I found the news article.  Says it's from Tacoma.

Ryan Anderson pinning the throttle at World Finals 14 when the spindle got bent up then eventually felt off was on his side with the underside facing the crowd scared the daylights out of some of my friends sitting in the section by it.

Look at Dennis in this years WF's.  If the truck was in that condition and was still on it's wheels they would have shut him off.  Why let him keep going when the front axle is perpendicular with the rear?  Over the years they've gotten more and more lenient with the RII and its only a matter of time before something happens.  Not to get more off topic but I've been at arena shows when they wont let the drivers do donuts, yet they let drivers do stupid stuff like this ^ all for show.

Believe me, it is ridiculous when a monster truck flips over, knowing there is no way the driver can bring itself back onto all 4 wheels, and yet no RII is activated and the driver steps onto the throttle with all force trying to make the monster truck somehow get up onto it's side to flip it right side up. When those instances happen the monster truck's underside is visible for a very long time projecting toward the crowd and many others. There are lots of visible fast moving parts that can shoot out from underneath the monster truck. Yes, many of those parts have some protection to them to prevent that, but are they going to hold up at that moment? Better safe than sorry in my opinion.

Here are some examples of what I am talking about and I think should not happen.

Just some comments: first, when Mohawk Warrior flipped and was trying to force it back over, it scared the crap out that guy in the white shirt who was practically in front of it. Heh, even an official and a track crew member, who probably both have control over George throttling it wince and don't do anything. And, one of these days, a truck will start smoking and catch on fire-resulting in someone getting injured. Of course, the officials won't shut them down, instead they let him keep going. WHY U THROTTLE IT WHEN ITS ONE FIRE? Dang next time I'll bring my marshmallows to Monster Jam their letting so many guys throttle it out while the truck transmission or engine has overheated and is on fire. Check out this:

In my opinion, they really should have shut him down after the first hit. Isn't it risky to let a ticking time bomb just roam around free? I once read a Youtube comment. It said something like this: Monster trucks back then: truck rolls over slowly. Announcer: OH MY GOSH IS HE OKAY??!!! Monster trucks today: truck explodes and kills everybody. Announcer: and he's over! Oh well, back to saves and RIIs.

I went to New Weston, and you wouldn't believe how often the truck's brake rotors were glowing, they were practically the brightest thing there. That or it just stands out more cause you're sitting up closer.
