The only reason why they do that is because I believe you have your gears set at "Automatic Shift". That means that they automatically shift for you. Go into Controls - Advanced and change your gearbox mode to Manual shift - Auto clutch. That way the truck will stay in first gear and you can control the truck more. I have been playing RoR since back when Box 5 released his Monsters but i still say i am proud of that save i made at the end on the hill (Even though i did roll right after) especially for the view i was driving with.
