  3. Welcome one and all to the tenth anniversary of the longest running special event in online monster truck racing, Fall Madness! Created by Dave "The Smasher" Collard back 2005 as a part of PPRL, Fall Madness quickly became the cornerstone event in MTM2 and it assumed the same role when the event transitioned over to RoR in 2011. With 2014 being the 10th anniversary of Fall Madness, both Danny Mackey and myself agreed that Fall Madness needed to be run again this year; and we're taking it back to basics. If your wondering what I mean by saying that, it's simply this; the event will be just a normal format of racing and freestyle, on a course that will have elements from past Fall Madness tracks. So the track will not only honor the legacy of the event, but be fun and challenging as well; now with all of that said, here are the specifics that everyone will need to know. The event will take place on Saturday, December 6th, 2014. The AIM chat will go up at 5:00 p.m. eastern, and the event will start at 6:30 p.m. eastern sharp. Qualifying Times: Thursday, December 4th, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. eastern till midnight eastern. Friday, December 5th, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. eastern till 9:00 p.m. eastern. The fastest 24 trucks at the end of qualifying will make up the field for Fall Madness X, all other trucks that didn't make the field will be put onto the alternate list. IF a driver in the top 24 does not make the field, we will resort to said list. The first person on the list will be contacted first, if they do not respond we move down to the second, and so on. If you are an alternate, you will be inserted into the bracket in place of the driver that did not show up. As far as trucks are concerned, you can use a Replica, Custom, and Repli-Custom trucks. However, if your truck is an add on, please take note of this rule. YOUR TRUCK MUST BE FINSIHED, 100% STAND ALONE, AND EITHER RELEASED ON THE SITE, POSTED IN YOUR SIGN UP POST, OR SENT TO ONE OF THE EVENT OFFICIALS BY DECEMBER 1ST AT MIDNIGHT EASTERN; NO EXCEPTIONS! If you fail to do so, you WILL NOT be allowed to qualify, meaning you won't be competing in Fall Madness. The full rule book can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mopVgXiJELFG3YZ0X00m8MrE_QGu1fsMoCiN8v9_QHA/edit Please refer to said rule book for all the specifics on how your sign up should look, rules for the event, when sign ups open ect. Fall Madness X Officials: Danny Mackey Chadwick Deerfoot Julio Vellon Jr. Aaron Lurie Jon Cannon Josh Rhodes Michael DesRoches The list of people above are the ones to contact about anything that goes on with this event, and they will post all important info that pertains to the event. Stay tuned to this thread for updates, and for when sign ups and qualifying open!

  5. As far as that Wildwood track goes, I think he's actually got it close to being right; looking at TMB's vid of the event, the jumps were a good bit lighter in color than the base beach sand. Now the jumps might be just a tad too bright, but all in all I think he's close to being spot on imo.
  6. I wasn't sure where this idea was headed, but seeing the finished(?) product I must say that it is incredible; though I do think the Dew bottle is a little out of place. I personally would've put a bottle of Crown Royal, Grey Goose, or some sort of bottle of wine to keep with the "high class" feel; but I know the Dew bottle is more than likely meant to be an oxymoron. By the way, I still would love to see you finish up that Centurion truck you were working on a while back, as it was awesome in it's own right. Either way, it's good to see you back making trucks again; you've come a long way since the days of Desert Storm and Five Star Fury.
  7. They now primarily use the Pouncer name when 3 or more of their trucks are at the same event.
  8. Not sure if it was mentioned or not, but USA-1 will (hopefully) make it's return to competition, as it will join the Monster X Tour and renew it's rivalry with Bigfoot. Oh, and Pezo still owns his trucks; they only say TBA so much because only 2 of them have for sure drivers. Pezo will of course be in his Predator, and I can almost guarantee that Lenny Kuilder will drive Prowler; the question becomes who will drive the secondary Predator and Prowler. As far as that goes, your guess is as good as mine; I've lost count of all the drivers he had over the years. Oh, and a few other things to take note of: Shane Phreed is building a new truck that will be called Anarchy. Here's one of the new additions to Straight Up Racing, this is Skeletor. Big Kahuna now has a teammate, and it's known as Big Chief. An old warhorse has been given a new lease on life, in the form of Twisted Addiction; btw, this truck started life as No Problem 3. Last but not least, here is the brand new Killer Bee.
  9. I got a fever, and the only cure is more monocle. Speaking of monocle... Just a little sponsor suggestion.
  10. ^^^^^^^What this dude right here said.
  11. Ok, so there are a few things I saw in this thread recently that I wanna comment on. Firstly, I love that custom Thrasher there Voth, but I feel it needs a little more red; like maybe make the pupils of the dog/creature/thing red. Just my opinion though, it's your truck and you do as you see fit (which is something that folks around here need to remember when it comes to customs, but I digress). Secondly, I love the fact that someone is making Pitbull; that truck should've been made ages ago. But there is one big problem, and it has to do with the chassis; the chassis you have on it is the current Barbarian frame. Now if your going the repli-custom route, then by all means continue on; but if your going for a true replica, then you'll need to get a hold of Kozak, Colineri, or someone else who's good at making chassis and have them whip up Pitbull's actual chassis. Here's a pic to go off of as well, though admittedly the chassis has been modified A LOT since this was taken (btw, for those that don't know, Pitbull started life as Rambo 3). Lastly, I'm also glad to see the lone star King Krunch being made, but it too has an issue; that being that the hoods are sloped down WAY too much. Now the hoods for sure do have a slope to them, but nowhere near that much; fix that, and those 2 versions of Krunch will be good to go.
  12. Whew, has it been a busy off season for Can-Am Racing; so busy that we completely forgot to update this blog lol. But now that we have some time, we'll get everyone up to date on what's going on in our merry little band of misfits. So, the very first SMRA World Finals was an interesting adventure to be sure; and if I were to use one word to describe the night, it would be carnage. It would actually be easier to to tell you who didn't wreck, as the wild freestyle course claimed many victims; with all of our trucks included in the list of casualties. What we didn't expect to find was that the Can in Can-Am Racing (that being Canadian Crippler) suffered catastrophic damage as a result of the wild ride he took in freestyle, and at first we honestly didn't think the truck was that badly damaged; but once we got the truck back to the pits and removed the body, we were stunned by the amount of destruction that laid before us. The back of the cradle was ripped out when the axle got hooked on the crush van, the front and the back of the chassis was wadded up, and the shock towers were all bent out of shape; luckily, the cage held extremely well, with no noticeable damage on it anywhere. However, even with the amount of damage sustained in the crash, it was decided that Crippler would get a rebuild. The amount of work was roughly the same as building a new one but with a successful showing, it was difficult to justify to changing the formula completely. Thus other then extra bracing where deemed necessary, Crippler will receive most of its changes in the form of parts. A new transfercase, ProFab Reverser tranmission, axle housings, Ukraine tires (borrowed off of Overkill) and the old girl is ready to battle it out this coming year in the all new Canadian Tour! We are extremely proud of this new piece, and we believe that it'll perform even better than it's predecessor; but that wasn't the only thing we had to work on. One truck that has been apart of this team since day one, and that was used mostly as a display piece, is the big green Ford known as Liquidator. The truck was initially gonna be driven by the original owner of the team Ryan McCauley, but he turned over ownership of the team to your's truly shortly after the season began; his reasoning being that he felt he couldn't run the team in a consistent and effective matter, as he had matters outside of the racing world to attend to. But he did still hang around the shop (it is his shop after all lol), and he helped out when he could; but one things he really wanted to do was update the look of Liquidator, as he thought it looked a little too plain. But due to his departure as owner, those updates were put on hold and the truck was rarely used for anything other than displays for our sponsors; and the occasional new part test. But with the success of this team came new offers from sponsors from places we didn't expect to hear from (specifically South Korea), and their desire to have their own truck; that's where Liquidator comes in. Thanks to funds given to us by said new sponsors, Liquidator received the updates that RKM wanted to give it, and he even stopped by the shop to help finish said updates; the results of these changes can be seen below. We really love how the truck turned out, and we can't wait to see this thing hit the track this year; and yes, it actually is gonna run in season 2. We'd also like to thank the folks who helped make this happen, those people being the folks at Samsung, S-Oil, Doosan, and Kumho Tires. We appreciate their support, and we hope to perform up to their expectations this year. With that out of the way, I think it's time we shed some light on a couple of things. Now for those that remember, you may have seen the picture of Wreckless Intent sitting at our shop; and we told everyone not to jump to conclusions. We simply said that because at the time we were negotiating with the trucks owner/driver Josh Rhodes, and now we can actually announce it; Josh Rhodes and Wreckless Intent are the newest addition to Cam-Am Racing! We are extremely happy that we managed to sign one of the best drivers in the game, someone who has won multiple championships over the years, and we know that he'll make some noise in season 2. Along with Wreckless, another new addition to the team is the brand new Ford known as Crushin' Chaos. Daniel Donnelly was the man behind the wheel of Overkill Evolution last year, and he was one of the standouts from season 1; but he's always had a desire to run a truck of his creation, that's where Chaos comes in. Built to his exact specifications, this thing is state of the art and we're excited to see what comes of this new piece; now that does leave Overkill Evo without a driver, but we'll figure that situation out at a later date. But now you guys are probably asking yourselves, where is Rocket and Alcohol Abuse? Well, the answer is simple; both trucks have been stripped down and sent out to paint and powdercoat. We expect to get all of the parts and pieces back in a few weeks, and when we do it'll be full speed ahead on getting them finished. Oh, and by now I'm sure you've all noticed the change in scenery; and you're probably wondering just where the heck our trucks are currently stationed at. Again, the answer is rather simple; we've moved out of the original Can-Am Racing shop, and we're now renting out an old airplane testing facility. Why are we doing this you ask? Well, it's because of the fact that former team owner RKM has decided to join with another team that competes in SMRA, and he's gonna lend out the original shop to his new team; but in all honesty, this was a blessing in disguise. We've been thinking about relocating the team, and now this gives us a valid excuse lol. So for now, this old airbase will be our home; and hopefully, we'll be able to fly to new heights in season 2! (What, you thought I wasn't gonna make a corny airplane related joke? Y'all should know better by now haha.)

  14. People who live to cause drama.
  15. Dirty Dawg (I know this isn't the truck I signed up in, but I highly doubt the Bearded Dragon will ever be finished.)
  16. Quick thing to mention about the line-up. From what I read, it seems that Darren will be debuting a new name for Robo Machine at Dixie; it would seem the truck is going to run as the Menace. It'll be interesting to see what the truck looks like come the weekend of the show.
  17. To all track makers, I need updates as to how the tracks are coming along; we are within a month of the season starting, and I'm not leaving anything to chance.

  20. Just wanted to let those of you who use Twitch TV to stream stuff know that you'll need to be on the lookout, because the Google integration has begun; specifically, they've incorporated YouTube's copyright bot. That means if this bot finds copyrighted material in any of your videos, it will mute the ENTIRE video; that means that a lot of the videos of streams by leagues here on the site more than likely will be affected. This also means that streams going forward will either have to not use music at all, or use music that is free to use; as crappy as that is. I had a feeling this was going to happen since Google bought Twitch, and sure enough the bowing to the big wigs in the music industry continues; now I'm not condoning stealing of music, but the iron fist they're using is getting ridiculous. But I just figured I'd give you all fair warning, and here's a video by Boogie2988 explaining what's going on in a little more depth.
  21. Update number 3: Julio Vellon Jr. will be making Atlanta, and Tom P. will be making Toronto; that leaves just one track left to be done.
  22. How about we kick this thing off right, this is my ride for the Monster Blog Truck Fest. I'm always hard on myself when I'm painting a skin, but especially so when it's on a truck that I'm particularly fond of; for once, I can say that I'm 100% hppy with how a skin came out. Big thanks to Colineri and Johan for helping me out this one, and it'll be up for download soon.
