  1. Trent could easily run away with that win because he's a naturally talented driver, but what killed it for him last year was a scheduling issue to where he had to drive at another show that weekend. This year, he won't even be getting into Vegas until Thursday morning, and his usual chassis will be in Georgia that weekend anyway. Every truck is being occupied for something that weekend.
  2. M'kay then... learn to drop these heated discussions when they're done, not drag them out. You're good at doing that; your track record's strong, broski. I have to agree with you on some points, and Mike pretty much already announced that his two trucks will be on display only. I think Mike would be a big threat in YGS, however. Nothing's impossible.
  3. Coty and BJ were the two drivers to watch for in YGS last year, so having Mikey finish 2nd in practice and qualifying was surprising enough to me, and the fact that he won on his first full rookie season surprised me.
  4. And it only took long enough for them to announce it...
  5. No one in there did I remotely say that stadium performances didn't count. I said that basing your decisions based off of the number of stadium wins they have is ridiculous. It should be based off of their overall performance in stadiums and arenas, not just how many plaques they get to take home. Being a constant winner is the icing on the cake.
  6. That truck is Barbarian, owned and driven by (and crewed on by) Devin Jones.
  7. I like how everyone is basing this solely off of how many stadium wins each driver has. That doesn't matter at all. Look at Mike Vaters Jr. Hasn't won any stadium events (minus YGS last year), and runs solely in arenas, but still puts up phenomenal performances. It's not based off of how many stadium wins you have. It's more your performance than anything else. Hell, if you want me to get super political, these drivers/trucks are chosen more for the show aspect than an actual motorsport aspect.
  8. Candice Jolly is a very good driver who deserves to be in the World Finals because she knows how to drive hard and put up great consistent performances. She impressed me when I saw her drive in East Rutherford last year and Trenton last year.
  9. That three way tie is still a hot topic of discussion to this very day. I still think it was handled wrong, but that's just my two cents.
  10. I'm sure that all of the extra doo-dads will be non-collidable, because if the port-a-potties are collideable, then my laptop will more or less catch on fire.
  11. I'm not comparing Lupe to Madusa. Lupe is in no spectrum as bad as Madusa is. I'm making the point of that having the title of "world champion" doesn't instate that you're automatically great at everything.
  12. Just because he's a past World Champion doesn't mean he's a great driver anymore. Look at Madusa and get back to me.
  13. Lupe is a good driver in some situations, but he's inconsistent in terms of putting up a good overall performance. Marc outshines Lupe as a racer and a freestyler because not only does he put great performances, but he's consistent.
  14. There will be 31 pre-determined competitors for the World Finals and 16 pre-determined competitors for the Young Guns Shootout. So expect 47 total announcements regarding competitors in all World Finals competitions this year.
  15. And your 25th qualifier is Marc McDonald driving El Toro Loco.
  16. It's only the employees at Digger's Dungeon remodeling the shop with those panels being hung up, nothing more than that. Plus, it's not an official Facebook page from Feld, so it's probably just some random fan making a random page (i.e. Carolina crusher 2015 is run by some random fan).
  17. The truck looks good, but the blower hat needs to be reversed so that the air filter is sitting closer to the rollcage instead of closer to the fuel cell.
  18. Call me crazy (and I might be the only one on this forum to say this), but I actually thoroughly like the idea of multiple trucks. People for many years complained about drivers like Charlie Pauken being thrown in Monster Mutt for the Finals and saying that it's not the truck he earned that spot driving (basically saying that he should be driving a Digger because he had been driving one all year up to that point). Well, now here's Feld doing just that and people are complaining about it. I like the idea of multiple trucks because, as Mason said, the driver of a said truck earned his spot in the Finals because of driving that truck (i.e. Morgan in Max-D, Colton in Grave Digger, Charlie in Grave Digger, Neil in Max-D). Yes, it will be strange to see two Grave Diggers or two Max-Ds race each other in competition, but that's how that driver earned his spot, so that's how it should remain. I personally would like to see variations of each name in terms of the scheme on the body, such as Tom driving a chrome spike Max-D, Morgan in the neon Max-D, and Neil in the spike Max-D; or Dennis in the regular Digger, Charlie driving the Grandma truck, and Colton driving another Digger variation of some sort.
  19. I know the show is almost over (or is already over), but even after last night's show, it was set that Morgan and Colton were going to be the top two in points for the More Monster Jam series. Since you can only earn a maximum of 9 points in one show, Coty would have to sweep everything coming into the Sunday afternoon and even then, he would only finish in 3rd. Morgan and Colton could have slept in their hotel beds throughout the entire show and still hold the top two spots. And yes, there will be 3 Grave Diggers and 3 Max-Ds in the World Finals.
  20. Exactly. Jim went out after Dustin (Monster Mutt) and did his little encore performance.
  21. Well, yes. The name is still around because Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is still a company that is trademarked, copyrighted, whatever. All ties between Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Feld Entertainment in terms of sponsoring Monster Jam by running their name on one of their trucks were cut at the end of 2012.
  22. You really think that he makes it sound like he's retiring based off of this post?
  23. Feld doesn't own the rights to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles name because they weren't the ones to come up with that name and copyright it. Same with US Air Force Afterburner. The US Air Force title sponsored that truck, similar to Grinder and Blue Thunder (before Ford dropped sponsorship in 2010). The TMNT name and body retired after the 2012 season concluded and Joey Parnell went on to pilot the same chassis but with the Superman body on it. However, Tasmanian Devil and Bulldozer is fully owned by Feld and as far as I know, they could use those names if they wanted to. But other money making names are in circulation now.
  24. You know, because drive line stuff will just "fall" out of the truck when someone pegs the Hot Foot while on their roof/side.
