  1. There have been issues with pieces of the campers flying into the stands, so they went bye-bye. The USHRA is still alive and kicking. It's the safety organization behind Monster Jam. Feld Entertainment owns all rights to the United States Hot Rod Association, and the USHRA is a separate body of technical officials and safety officials that coordinate safety and officiate the action on the track at every Monster Jam show.
  2. Well, it's not the first time it's been branded as that, but it's certainly the largest monster truck promotion company in the world.
  3. Well, the event manager for that tour released this graphic on Facebook, and I know for a fact that this has been in the works for many years now. So, there's something more to it than just an idea and a fancy graphic.
  4. Monster Jam has just announced that they will be making their first stop ever in the Philippines this June 20th and 21st at the Mall of Asia Arena!
  5. It's just the type of transmission that Michael Vaters prefers using. It's a Ford C6 that runs in his three monster trucks, Black Stallion, Iron Warrior, and Higher Education (Black Stallion is currently running as Monster Mutt Rottweiler and Iron Warrior is currently running as Safety-Kleen Black Stallion). Mike is a Ford guy, so he runs a lot of Ford or Ford designed parts. Overkill Evolution is the only truck on Vaters Motorsports (it's actually owned by Marty Garza with Truck Toyz Performance) that runs a Coan Powerglide 2 speed transmission. But even though 3rd gear is rarely used, it does help when it comes to reeling in the competition in a long race. I remember in Englishtown, NJ at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in I believe it was 2012 or 2013. It was a race between Jim Tracey in Higher Education and Mike Vaters Jr. was driving Iron Warrior at that show. Mikey was beating Jim the whole race, but after they made the U-turn, Jim threw the bus into 3rd gear and was able to beat Mikey by about two or three truck lengths.
  6. Some trucks, including the ones on our team, run 3 speed transmissions. In most cases, 3rd gear is rarely used. I can think of one time that one of our team trucks has used 3rd gear, but that's it. 1st gear is a commonly used gear, but 2nd gear is used mostly when running in arenas, stadiums, speedways, fairgrounds, and even the beach. In wheelie contests, most drivers will roll up to the ramp in 1st gear then slam it into 2nd as they pin the throttle going up the ramp. Some drivers might just hit 2nd gear and roll up to the ramp with a little more speed behind them. In stadium Chicago style racing, it's 1st gear off the line, but most drivers will throw it into 2nd before hitting the first ramp, then keep it in 2nd the whole race.
  7. I bet you can handle turns and jumps soooooooooooooooooo well with that set up, Kozak! It looks like the future of Sim-Monsters customs!!!
  8. If you could find a way to make this work in 0.37.126, I would be happy.
  9. Ferrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrn... engine placement, maaaaannnnnnnnn.
  10. They'll be doing obstacle course. They're performing at three stadium shows in Florida. And is it just me... ...or does the rear shocks look like they're leaning inwards?
  11. I said it before and I'll say it again... Diesel Dave needs to go to West Lebanon, Hagerstown, and Stafford Springs. Dave has done displays for Monster Jam before, so he's not a complete stranger to them (even though he only did a display).
  12. Black Stallion: "Ghost Riders in the Sky" by The Outlaws Stinger: "Sweet Child Of Mine" by Guns N' Roses Hurricane Force: "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by Scorpions Storm Damage: "Calm Before The Storm" by Fall Out Boy
  13. Well hot damn. Regardless, the heim joints he's running are clearly not holding up to the abuse he's putting them through. He should probably move up to billet heim joints if he didn't already do that (which I doubt he did, judging by the fact that he's already broken 5 of them in 3 shows).
  14. Well, I stand corrected. Donald is running a double tie rod set-up now.
  15. The truck hasn't been run in ages, it still needs today's upgrades to even be allowed to compete under most of the promotion companies. Give it some time. And there are driveshaft cages, but they're black. Many years ago, people could run black driveshaft cages. Son-uva Digger doesn't run the steering rams on the inside anymore. They're on the outside of the housing where the tie rod sits, but they have shields on the steering ram body itself, so the hydraulic lines, fittings, and seals on the body are protected. The only exposed part is the steering ram shaft.
  16. It's not necessarily a matter of running a single or double tie rod set-up. It's because of the heim joints that are screwing him up. Donald's already trashed 4 heim joints in the last three weekends because of awkward landings. Yes, a double tie rod set-up might be good for when the bottom one breaks a heim joint, the top can still act as the steering regulator and vice versa, but Donald is on such a tight schedule that having to get new steering knuckles made up to accommodate two extra bars just ain't worth it (at least I don't think it is). But blame it on the heim joints. Each tie rod is still good, it's just the heim joint peeling apart and screwing everything up.
  17. I think the double decker bus will actually work good as a backflip ramp as long as the dirt going up to the bus holds up sturdy.
  18. I like the Jersey style track because it makes racing more interesting by combining two great racing styles into one (So-Cal and St. Louis). It wouldn't work in a tight football stadium like MetLife Stadium because the first and final turns are just too tight, so either trucks will collide (depending on if there are cars separating the lanes) or the trucks will hit the cars with such speed that it'll cause them to rebound the other way and flip. Freestyle is also cool because of the variety of obstacles you can establish on the track, both permanent and temporary.
  19. Everybody's arena tracks have their strong points and their weak points. So far, no promoter's arena track layout has disappointed, but improvements can always be made.
  20. It's on the old PEI El Diablo chassis; three people confirmed that with me.
