World Finals XVI Discussion

Just because he's a past World Champion doesn't mean he's a great driver anymore. Look at Madusa and get back to me.

You can't compare a guy who's still winning to someone who can hardly finish a freestyle. Also if you read back a couple pages you'll see Lupe has been consistent this year.

I also agree with what Danny said, Pezo's team really started going down the drain in 2008 when they decided to extend to a 4 truck team. Hard to see a show without them falling apart now.

I'm not comparing Lupe to Madusa. Lupe is in no spectrum as bad as Madusa is. I'm making the point of that having the title of "world champion" doesn't instate that you're automatically great at everything.

Dylan, you are implying Lupe wins on a regular or semi-regular basis. Before Tampa this year, when was the last time Lupe actually won something? 2012?

He did win Miami freestyle last year (just playing devil's advocate) BUT. To be fair, looking at Lupe's track record the last few times at Vegas vs. Marc's shows a clear difference (hell he only raced once in Grinder, and never got above a 20) and to be fair his championship win is perhaps the most controversial in Monster Jam history

That three way tie is still a hot topic of discussion to this very day. I still think it was handled wrong, but that's just my two cents.

1: If the way the scoring went there isn't the best anti-fan judging argument then I dunno what is

2: Honestly I feel like Creten should've won it based on the run alone, with Hot Wheels coming in second

Also Bailey is in the Shootout (placing my money that Dalton and Becky will be in it):

Multi-Quote Button spamming time.

It just seemed like from what you were saying you were comparing him to Madusa i just didn't feel that was right. But I do believe he's above the likes of lets say, Nicole Johnson, Chad Fortune (even though I'm a fan of his), and so on and so forth. I feel he deserves a spot more than those guys.

Are we forgetting last years Miami Mark?

But you're just comparing him to Marc, Marc is basically one of the top guys in the sport, Lupe has diminished since oh im gonna say 2011-2012 ish. But he still deserves an invite more than those who I mentioned above

Also.. How dare you call me the devil!! Lol

True, I mean taking a look at who's in the line up there's Balhan, who honestly has just become the very definition of mediocre, Candice who honestly has only one major stadium win after being around for what? Eight years? Krmel who I hate to say but has been on a massive decline since around 2013, and Nicole who.... Do I really need to say more? I mean the main gripe I have with Lupe (and many will agree) is that he slings his truck around like he's trying to wreck on purpose and stamps on the pedal even if it's rolled over. I don't dislike Lupe by any means, he's a helluva guy and I've seen him perform quite well (Atlanta 2012 & 2013) but he's kind of a wild card, which works sometimes but others doesn't.

I mean hell like I said, replace any of the four mentioned above with him and I'd be happier with the result (corporate pleasing aside).

My point exactly.

Candice Jolly is a very good driver who deserves to be in the World Finals because she knows how to drive hard and put up great consistent performances. She impressed me when I saw her drive in East Rutherford last year and Trenton last year.

Doesn't mean she's better than Lupe and deserves a spot, has she ever won a stadium event before?

Danny excuse my correcting

Really, it's because he has too many trucks so the quality of all of them have suffered. He was great when it was just two but now that he has four, they're all crippled because of it and it's a shame, if he kept just two trucks then the Predator he debuted back in 2007 would've been considered one of the best

Have you seen Pezo's run from Pontiac in 2010??? It is one the greatest runs from him since 2007. Not sure why he doesn't run as hard in Monster Jam.

Uhhh Lupe got a 28 at World Finals 11.

Pouncer's had a good year as well. He did win arena racing this year before, why shouldn't he be in the Shootout?

Also, let me say this very clear.

NEA Police won Stadium Racing TWO TIMES IN A ROW THIS YEAR. Once in Anaheim, and again in San Diego. So, let me state this.

WHY ISN'T NEA IN THE WORLD FINALS!? That truck REALLY deserves to be in WF this year, in my opinion, whether it's John Seasock or Norm Miller. Both of them are good.
